Is this still possible? My alternative is to use homeplug connection but I am wondering if this is ok as I will install at 5 points for IP camera usage. Last min. add-on as the initial plan is to use wireless IP camera but now change to wired IP camera...

Using own aircond copper tube

Hi all, I just wonder if anyone here did like this before? I went through a few aircond installers, most of them are using 0.61mm or 0.71mm copper tube. I intend to get my own 1mm thickness tube and pass to them. I just wonder if this is ok and will they be irresponsible and argue with me should anything go wrong?

Is 1.0mm ok anyway? I guess it should be all right?

Some questions regarding lockset for door grill

The usual thickness of the grill (hollow tube part for the lockset) is 1" (25mm) from what I understand from the grill factory.

They have their own locksets to which I do not prefer. I know there are mortise locksets in the market meant for door grill, i.e. 25mm thickness onwards. However, I like one particular lock but on the spec sheet it is for 45mm door min. as it is speced with a 70mm double-keyed cylinder.

My question is, if I pair it with a shorter double-keyed cylinder, i.e. 55mm which is available for sale as well, can I assume that it will work?

55mm (cylinder length) - 25mm (tube thickness) - 8*2 (faceplate thickness) = 12mm (which means the protruding part is 6mm each side. The faceplate screws can be shortened as and when required.

Will the above work? I guess there might be someone having experienced the same things before?

[attachmentid=3773283] [attachmentid=3773285]

Unifi Cable Connections

Hi, just 1 to check something on the connections of the fibre optic cable run in the house by the developer.

From what I understand, there is a fiber cable ready, 1 LAN cable and 3 telephone cables in the store (all not clamped with connector yet, just bare cable). The LAN cable connects to a LAN wall jack upstairs while the 3 telephone cables individually connects to living hall downstairs, upstairs and the master bedroom (with wall jacks).

My questions:
1. Can I make the LAN cable and the 3 telephone cables as wall jack connections in the store? Will the signal degrade?
2. After that I connect the MODEM (BTU) to the LAN wall jack in the store with a LAN cable - Does it mean my LAN wall jack upstairs will be live with the Internet connection.
3. MODEM itself connects to a splitter that splits to 3, and each of these 3 ports connect to these RJ-11 wall jacks in the store, thus making all 3 RJ-11 wall jacks in the living hall (upstairs / downstairs) and the master bedroom to be live connection?
4. In order for me to have IPTV in the living hall downstairs, I will need to pull another LAN cable (RJ-45 wall jacks to be installed in both store and the living hall downstairs) - Am I right?

The reason why I want wall jacks in the store is to make it neat - or it is not necessary? Just leave a cable connection ready with male connector?

Thanks to all sifu here....

I need to order 1x 8 ft height x 6 ft width door (main door) and 6x room door (7 ft height x 3 ft width), complete with door frame.

All are with skirting (beading) surrounding the door frame (thick door frame).

The Nyatoh one is about MYR$12K with varnishing (hand painting according to the factory), and this one is with Kapor wood door frame.

Another factory selling Melunak wood one, with varnish spraying (using machine), and this one is with Simpoh wood door frame for about MYR$8K.

Seriously speaking, Melunak or Nyatoh - I could not tell the difference. I will be supplying my own locksets and butt hinges. So based on the price above, are they ok? Melunak and Nyatoh...?

Actually, I already bought the downlight holder + e27 bulb (as per attached). The downlight frame holder is with those clip already on it, and the reason why I bought this type initially is becoz it has adjustable height and not so high like those in the market - one more good thing is that I find the clip better and change of bulb is easy, not like those with drivers [attachmentid=3759697]

I have not got them installed yet but now I kacheng a bit itchy wanna change to flat type (with drivers) like this as I got some1 taking over my purchase
[attachmentid=3759705]

Now I wonder if I should really get this changed? Are the flat type with drivers long lasting??

I tried connecting it myself, one to live wire and one to neutral wire and installed it to a plug, it will ding when I press the switch and dong when I depress the switch.

How to make it work on developer wiring? Sifu pls help...

Hi, I have a question to ask

I am looking at installing ventilation fan with ducting attached to the wall.

Alu

PVC

I will be using this type of ceiling mounted ventilation fan

The ducting will be connected to the wall (attaching to ducting cap)

Now I am wondering, is there a diifference between PVC ducting and aluminium ducting? It is because the ventilation fan I bought came with PVC ducting... (Not like kitchen hood that comes with alu ducting...)

Help Does it matter?

Some questions about the stop cork in the bathroom

I think nowadays every home owners need to conduct water commissioning for their new houses, hence the stop cock installed in every bathroom - is this the reason?

In my unit, every single bathroom has a main stop cork to control the water supply in a particular bathroom. I find it a bit redundant (and it looks ugly) and would like to remove it during my house reno. Is it recommended to do?
