Where to report?

Hi. There is a mad man who has been around my neighborhood for some time. Myself have only seen him around a few times because he is mostly only around in the day. At least I usually only hear him during the day la.

Some of the things he had done were smashing a bus kilang's body with a rock until very dented, shouting every 10-20 minutes and stand like a rock, not moving for hours while holding a long stick in a dark corner from day to late night.

To whom should we report so that he is taken away? and out of curiosity, what do they do to such people?

Thank you in advance.

Gigabyte P31 motherboard 4GB Ram

Hello. I just bought 667 2x1GB RAM and was happily anticipating a faster running PC and BANG! I ran into trouble booting it up. It was in XP Pro so I reformatted it to Vista Business. It was able to detect 3GB RAM after Vista was installed when I inserted 3 of it but when I put it the 4th, it got stuck at the motherboard logo page thing and cannot detect my keyboard and mouse.

So off I went in search of a solution and apparently I need to do some tweaking in the BIOS.

"You will need to set Refresh to Act Delay to 52-62, and set MCH voltage to +0.2-0.3. And I would set Ram voltage to +0.1V = 1.9V"

"...somewhere in the M.I.T. section"

Taken from http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/new-memory...p31-ds3l-28175/

 I really don't understand a thing...

So if it made sense to someone here, can you please guide me on it? Help is very much appreciated. Thank you

potential questions during interview for jobs

i'm in design field. I went for 3 internship interview. first 2 was okay. i just showed them my resume and portfolio and also explained a bit about the assignments I did because it is what we are suppose to show right???? that is what my lecturers told to show also. then the 3rd one was not interested at all with the portfolio and asked for my personal work. my personal work is only photography la but i can't say that since it is super not related to the company. i said no and the fellow tak puas hati already la... can aa like this? i know i practically trashed the interview because i couldn't answer the fellow's questions but that was my error and i admit it. but when come the part on personal work. i need to know, since i'm in 3d sort of thing, i have to show this people 3d stuff only or don't care what it is as long as it is my personal work? or since i'm in vr and most of my assignments were creating game like applications anyway, i have to show them that is it? can show concept art only? or the game treatment only? what?????

lecturer said to accept other offer and i'm going to follow the advice since i know i failed miserably for this company. just that i'm not comfortable la knowing that those are potential questions that will be ask by potential bosses...

so for people handling this sort of interview and hiring thing, may i really know what do you want to see and know when you interview potential staff member? at least i can prepare myself and also share this knowledge with my classmates and juniors. Of course the LYN people also benefit la since they can read this...

currently i only know this.

tell us about yourself.
what is the company about.
what does the company do.
what magazines related to design field do you read.
what is this assignment about.
what are you capable of doing.
do you know how to use this *insert software title*?
show me your personal work.

may i know what else are in the list of questions from company to the job seeker? outside, some people can maintain cool and calm la inside they will think "O o... wth? wtf? HELP!!!!"... Anyone else also can add to this list?? *sigh* one year or so more to graduate, now thinking about actual job interview already... lucky didn't cry after the 3rd interview. that day don't know why so calm. maybe was glad that i had attended all the interviews. been having insomnia since the first one replied with the interview date and time... then don't know why type until so long here these days.

SEGi

My sister don't want to go to UTAR Kampar for her degree and the PJ campus where she is suppose to register at is at a sorry state for an education institution. So... Spent the day(AGAIN!!!!) in an education fair and this time to take whatever brochures not related to science courses and my mother was convinced that SEGi would be the next best choice due to $$$ factor. It is only a 10-15 minutes drive to the Subang Jaya Campus and fees are RM+-20,000 less than those in Sunway etc but +-RM10,000 than UTAR la.

So here is the thing. I really need opinions of those who are currently/recently graduated in the Subang Jaya Campus and Kota Damansara Campus on how is the environment, are you comfortable there? How are the facilities? How is the management (I've heard so many complaints about the management being lousy in the past)? And important important important! Lecturers. Generally, how are they? I know there are angel lecturers, devil lecturers and two face lecturers because in every work place, there will always be at least this 3 types. I need to tell my mother all this before she waste more money. And then, did any of you get PTPTN loan? When will they ask you to pay up the tuition fees every semester? UTAR is at every beginning of the semester. MMU is due date normally 1 month before exam week.

And yes I know Kota Damansara one has University College status and Subang Jaya one only has College status. If it was me, I would go to Kota Damansara but it is the girl's choice and I do not want to interfere much.

Thank you in advance

Accounting. MMU vs SEGi vs UTAR vs Sunway...

Hi. It is for my sister's(more like mother's...) info on accounting course. I am in MMU also but in FCM. So I cannot be bias with this.

My mother has narrowed down to 3 potential place to send my sister if she is interested in Accounting (she said maybe so we are not forcing okay...). So yea. Maybe she'll take accounts so what my mother wants to know is:

1) Which degree is more recognized at least in Malaysia? Is it MMU/SEGi/UTAR/Sunway?

Yes I said 3 potential place which is MMU, SEGi and UTAR. Sunway was added because it looks like she's interested in Sunway but with the fees higher than my own course even loan from ptptn also not enough... >.<

2) the hidden cost. I know there's all those IT fees la, don't know whatever else fees just to squeeze money out from you la. That I know. But the living cost like accommodation, food, traveling... Handphone bills no need to say... That one almost RM100 per month... I'm staying at home but I'll be graduating in a year or so. So we still need info about this please.

3) The facilities. Is it okay? I know FOM building in MMU is all nice and shiny but still, I am mostly constraint to FCM.

4) Lecturers. How are they like?

5) Are they in different campus for foundation? MMU yes. In Melaka. Sunway no. SEGi and UTAR?

We went to the Education Fair last week in Mid Valley... Not much information. Well got, if it wasn't for the people talking with microphones... Just a whole stack of brochures with course fees.

Thank you in advance

Internship...

It is that time some students dread... Internship. Specifically, looking for a company for internship...

I'm not asking for a list of company but rather what actually do you send to the company. Is it like a normal job application with the cover letter, resume and portfolio?

Then there's the portfolio itself. It is saturated with photography instead of 3D work and some virtual reality stuff which I'm suppose to be doing... Obviously I can't send it to anywhere right...?

So those who have done internships, do you just send whatever you have to the companies not caring whatever company it is or do you quickly create a portfolio suitable to be sent to the company (like model and render buildings for architecture firm, create characters and model and texture them for game companies...)?

So depressing...
