Hi, I am a student currently doing masters in China. I want to transfer money from here to my malaysian bank account. How can I do this ? I tried searching on the old thread in lowyat but seems they're only discussing back and forth and there's mention of TT or like western union. I think the charge is a bit high in this way. I also tried with wise but couldn't figure out why my transfer is rejected. Is there any trusted people, organisation here that I can refer to ? Thank you so much.

Hi guys, I have been learning javascript, html and css for the past 2 months(built some little projects and landing pages). I also have some experiences with java core and oop(~3 months) before learning javascript. My question is that recently I have an offer for a temporary position, low pay but the technologies stack that is used in their apps are flutter and php for backend. I talked with the hiring manager last week that I will be given 2 weeks of training before asked to do some projects. I felt that going over and starting again on new languages without reaching a certain milestone in my current language(javascript, html, and css) is a little bit tiring and isn't good. On the other hand, I am a self-taught developer trying to switch career into tech. Should I accept this offer just to get some experiences first or should I keep on continuing my javascript progress ? I have just finished a foundation courses, and now looking on to learn react and currently considering a backend programming language(I am in favor of Node js).

Hi coding sifu/master, I've been thinking about switching my career into programming. I've been taking online courses by myselves for around 2 months. I saw a pattern of youtubers developer said in their video that the [/I]web development[I] field is getting saturated. Is it true ? Is there hope for anyone who wants to switch career to programming ?

Btw, I am 29 years old and have been learning javascript, html and css by myselves for around 2 months now. I want to break into programming field by becoming front end developer first. Thank you sifu/master, please advice.

Jobs require Mandarin speaking

Hello everyone, recently a recruiter approach me for a position which fits my hard skill ability. However, the thing that I am concern is that it requires Mandarin speaking ability, in which I don't have enough confidence to perform that job in Mandarin. I think the reason why the recruiter approach me is because of course it fits my hard skill, besides I attended Chinese language course for a year in china after graduating from local university, and now still I am doing master also in china. The recruiter might have suspect me that I am proficient in mandarin. I have been learning Chinese mandarin for about 2 years plus with 1 year and a half of intense study. I am quite comfortable and are able to hold everyday conversation quite well(when I am in China). I can read a lot of articles on the net without looking too much on dictionary. Thus, given that the company requires me to handle documents, I am confident that I'll be able to handle it, given the time to look on the documents beforehand.

I am in dilemma. On one hand, I know that this is the opportunity to really drill down and bring my mandarin to be at least to be functional while at the same time gaining experience in the field, which would be very good and give me an advantage after I graduate my master. But at the same time, I am concern if the job does really require a thorough usage of mandarin. That will give me hard time and there's a chance that I 'sink' in the process. Also, my job progress might also slow down as compared to english. My current situation right now, I am running out of money, my savings are depleting and may only last until the next 2 weeks. Should I take the job? What is your perspective on this?

From industrial engineering to programmer

Hello everyone, I am 28 years old unofficially. My background is I graduated in 2016 in manufacturing engineering and management from USM. Right now I'm doing my masters, MBA in one university in China. I have been in China for about 2 years and will graduate in 2022. I am in Malaysia right now since we are not allowed to come back because of pandemic worldwide.

Having a lot of free time right now has allowed me to think about my future career prospect. I don't think the knowledge that is teach in my masters is of adding much value to me and so I take the initiative to learn a lot of things by myself. Mostly reading books about a lot of topics .

I get a few job invitation in LinkedIn as an industrial engineer. Somehow, I feel that it doesn't excite me as much but it's not that bad too. But due to current situation I have to refuse the job offer since I still have to go back to my university sooner or later.

I think becoming a programmer as my career seems like a good option. The pay is quite good and the things that I will be doing is ok too. There's a good balance of pay, future career prospect and thus a nice lifestyle.

Right now I am thinking to start learning about programming. I read other people experiences from blog and I also watch videos on YouTube. I ask people that I know in my circle that works as a programmer too. Now, I come across this evergreen lowyat forum website, I hope to get your advice and perspective on this. Hello everyone, I'm currently studying MBA in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship(CGS). However, I am interested to apply for scholarships in other countries. My question is, since I am currently enrolled in MBA in China under CGS, should I write it down in my other scholarships applications that I am now enrolled in MBA and under the sponsorships of CGS ? This also goes to should I also write it down in my CV that I am currently studying MBA and financed by the CGS? For ur information, I'm now just about to finish a 1 year studies this July. I have another 2 years left of my studies.

Please help. Thank you so much. I hope anyone who've undergo similar experiences can give their opinions. I really appreciate it.

guys, is it a good idea for me to leave my phone number to her. btw, she is a hairdresser and i've gone to this shop for quite some times and she already recognize me.

what makes me think i should leave my phone number is that about 4 weeks ago, after i pay for my haircut, i was thinking that before i leave, i might want to see her for one last time(guys do this most of the time for a girl that he interested in ). so here it is,once i turn my head back to see her, i'm so stunned and shocked that she was looking at me too and slowly she smile and i smile back. that gaze really feels like the time freeze(lol the fairy tale in the movie is really true). btw, this is the 3rd time i've gone to the shop.

last week, i went to the shop again. i tried to have some conversation with her by asking her any style that suits me. so she takes her phone and search google and show me the pic and i said ok. actually, one of my friend also come to the shop before and ask her whatever haircut that is nice and stylish but she said she don't know lol. i tried to have some conversation with her after she done my haircut unfortunately there are other customers waiting so i just paid my haircut.
however, like before, i checked her out for one last time before i leave and yeah, she was looking at me too.

i was planning for my next visit, if there are a lot of people there, i'll just leave my phone number to her. what do u guys think ?

i'm a 1st year student at at local university having an engineering course...
I just want to know if there is any possible ways for me to study or live in china because i really want to learn chinese language and i want to be fluent with it...i mean not only the mandarin but also the other dialects for example cantonese/hokkien...

btw, i'm wondering if i can be fluent if just staying in malaysia? for ur information, i just learn mandarin once i enter university...so had been learning for abouth 1 month and i found that it's really amazing and fun to learn a language...

Hi all.. i will turn 20 in jan next year..
i really2x wan to increase my height till 170cm if can or at least 169@168 cm...haiz...height does really affect my self-esteem...is there any possible ways to increase my height ? i believe that male can gain height until 22 ...i'm envy with my big bro whos height is 169cm and even my younger bro(18 years old) are 171 cm...

fyi, i started lifting weights + exercise + controlling my diet in july...back then i was only 160cm and now after doing all those things i'm 163cm...i believe maybe in this 1 or 2 years there is still space for me to grow taller...the main reason y i still grow but at the same time lifting weight is becoz i think i do only lift light weights...if we dont lift heavy weights it wont stunt our growth + we will grow taller rite ?? if u have any ways to increase heights please share here...

Hi all..2 days ago, I just checked my upu result and this is the offer that i get...

1. UTM KL campus(MJIIT) - Kejuruteraan Mekanikal Kejituan

I'm really confused right now...which one is better and how is the job opportunities 4 years from now ? My friend tell me that usually for whom graduates from USM(about 75-80%), u will get jobs offer within 6 months after u graduates. Afterall, I'm not pretty sure about that as the course that i was offered in usm are not as that popular(like mechanical/chemical/oil and gas). 1 more thing is about living cost. I heard that in KL the cost is pretty high. Well, I don't have any idea about that as I never go there(seriously). Btw, I from Sabah.

I really hope that anyone can give ur opinion about this thing...I do really2x appreciate all ur helpful ideas..

Hi all...i have a problem with my kittens and it's age is around 7 weeks now..

The problem is like this...3 days ago, my kittens but(ass) start to swollen...however, i didn't care much about it becoz last time his mother undergo the same problem but after 1 day, it goes back to normal...however, for the kitten, it seems like the problem didn't solved... now, the kittens ass start to swollen bigger and bigger since day 1...i dono wad actually is happening becoz this is the first time i take care of kittens...

Now my kittens are not as active as before ...i'm really2x worry about this...any CAT EXPERT out there...please help me...why is this happening and what do i need to do now ? do i need to upload the picture here ?? btw, the swell is really2x big ...
