            <title>linux server, (nearly)full of tmp</title>

            <description>plz help, i&amp;#39;ve no more hair to pull  &lt;!--emo&amp;:x--&gt;&lt;img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/doh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='doh.gif' /&gt;&lt;!--endemo--&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;over here in our small office we run linux on a server, and we divide users into groups, each group mapped to shared folders.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;past few weeks ago i noticed a growing amount of *.TMP/tmp files, and &amp;#39;4EB00&amp;#39; and similar files. &lt;br /&gt;some are zero, some nearly 1MB&amp;#39;s..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;something like this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src='http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/6090/56005121uf0.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;why didn&amp;#39;t microsoft office removed them automatically as they wud, usually?&lt;br /&gt;i&amp;#39;ve been manually removing them *.TMP&amp;#39;s thru the server (on the pc cannot delete, server sez &amp;#39;read only or file in use&amp;#39;), but it&amp;#39;s getting tedious lor&amp;#33;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;anything i can do (aside frm re-formatting the server) ? anyone wif same (and solved) problem? &lt;!--emo&amp;:w--&gt;&lt;img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='whistling.gif' /&gt;&lt;!--endemo--&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;tq in advance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[addedon]January 23, 2008, 8:15 am[/addedon]bump&amp;#33;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;anyone?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;aaah c&amp;#39;mon&amp;#33;</description>
