Details of the complaint :

On August 1st I sent a PM to User Name to purchase 3 items from him. I banked in on the same day and asked him to Poslaju it to me in Melaka. The next day, I had not received a tracking number from him so I requested one via Lowyat. He provided a tracking number: ED949161762MY [TRACK HERE]

The day after that I checked the tracking number and found that the package was not heading to Melaka, but was heading to Batu Caves. Later, my package arrived and I found that the tracking number on the package was different than the one he gave me. I started getting suspicious at this point but I gave him the benefit of a doubt that he gave me the wrong tracking number by accident as opposed to purposely misleading me.

The other 2 items were tested and working, but the PSP cable in question had some problems. After trying to insert it into my PSP's charger port, it wouldn't fit. I tried it on my second PSP, and both had the same problem, the cable's power jack appeared to be too small to fit into the PSP port's central pin. I also noticed that the jack was slightly bent and this might have caused the problem.

I sent him an SMS informing him of the above. He asked me to send back the cable for a replacement. I asked him if he was going to reimburse me for the Poslaju, at which point he said:

Naturally, I was indignant. Until now I have never heard of a 'special' psp with a unique power port before. If an item has a manufacturing defect, then it is the retailer's responsibility to ensure that the item is replaced at no additional cost to the buyer. After a little back and forth argument, he finally agreed to post a working cable back to me along with the poslaju money. I considered the problem solved and sent him the cable via poslaju the day after that. I also informed him that I will be traveling on the 13th of August, and I will need the cable before then.

When the cable arrived at his place, he sent me a picture of a PSP with a cable plugged in and charging, saying that the cable works perfectly. I reiterated that the cable did not fit both my PSP's when I received it, and I don't know why he was able to use it, but I'm not even sure it is the same cable I sent him. Regardless I told him that the jack probably didn't fit because it was slightly bent, and asked him to send me a working one. His reply:

So, here we are. Now he wants ME to pay HIM for the poslaju to send a faulty cable back to me, which he claims 'not problem'. I replied:

Now the cable is with you. I don't know if you switched it with a working one or not, but when it arrived, I could not use it.

I tried on both my PSP's, both cannot fit. So right now, you have my cable, and my money. Either you post to me a working cable, or I will post a dispute thread.

Think about it, if the cable is working perfectly, why on earth would I have sent it back?

If you've been reading this far, I hope you follow my train of logic. Here's the breakdown: If the cable is working PERFECTLY and 'not problem' as he claims, why would I trouble myself to go all the way to the post office to send it back to him? Am I really so free that my only hobby is buying things and asking for replacements when they are perfectly functional? Obviously there's something very fishy here that a cable can magically fix itself on the way back to him.

So we're back to square one. See, if I analyze the situation objectively, I will have to conclude that User Name was not happy about having to reimburse me for the Poslaju in the first place, and that's why he went around with this 'oh the cable is working' scenario to make me give up and give in, cut my losses, and accept the RM5.70 addition over the RM10 price of the faulty cable. But if there's one thing I can't stand, it's a dishonest seller, and I won't back down so easily.

Notice I never once mentioned I wanted to return the item? I wanted an exchange, not a return.

So yeah, that's all I needed from him. Obviously he is the one underestimating the 'ppl not brain to think' by insinuating that I would send back a perfectly healthy cable and ask for the perfectly healthy cable to be replaced by a perfectly healthy cable. After he left about few minutes later . I cannot turn the notebook on

Immediately call him . he give me excuse he is now on the way to work and will see me at night

Then went home and found out the battery only last few minutes , called him but he refuse to answer since then

Small amount right? But revealing the dishonesty of a repeat offender on Lowyat is genuinely priceless. I've been trading for 5 years on Lowyat, this is the first time I've ever had to resort to a complaint thread. But then, dude was asking for it, aye?

I don't expect to recuperate any losses from this guy, but honestly the amount is so little I couldn't care less. I just hope this thread will help other buyers beware of sellers like 'User Name'. Plenty of other, honest sellers on LYN selling the exact same items as him, so there's really no point in taking the risk by trading with someone so irresponsible.

I'm in deep trouble. My Pentium 4 2.8's fan was making sounds so I cleverly tried to stop the problem by jamming a pen into it while it was still moving (don't ask me why, childish logic). Now, a blade is broken and the sound's gotten worse, about like a screech now. Is there anyway I can replace the fan? What brand and price? Help is greatly appreciated

Please don't tell me I have to change my processor. I'll kill myself.
