Need advice on getting a HDD.

Hi. I am planning to get a HDD to store my video files, but I am unsure which one I should get now.

Option 1: 4TB Seagate EXOS HDD with an Orico enclosure.

Option 2: 4TB Seagate External HDD.

Option 2 is more expensive, so I am leaning towards Option 1.

Any recommendations? Appreciate any replies.

BOE BDP-828 Blu-ray Player can't play Region B

Hi. I recently bought a second-hand BOE BDP-828 Blu-ray player, and it is said that it is region free.

However, I can't play Region B discs on it. The screen shows this.

I have changed the TV setting for the Blu-ray player to PAL, but the error message still pops up. Also changed the Country Code to United Kingdom, also the same error message.

Appreciate any replies.

Got some questions on selling video games online

Hi. Any advice on selling video games online?

Here are the things that I am planning to do:

1) Work from home. Easier for me to take care of my parents.

2) I will use either Carousell or Facebook to sell games online.

3) For KL area, I will use LalaMove or Poslaju for delivery. For other states, Poslaju only.

4) I will sell PlayStation and Nintendo related games.

I also have some questions for this business.

1) How much money do I need to start this online business?

2) Is this plan feasible for one person, or should I bring a partner to help?

3) Is it easy or difficult to apply for the license of selling video games?

4) Is it easy to contact the video game suppliers?

Scammer Alert: Joan Thin

First of all, I was stupid to fall for this scammer's lies.

On 6 April 2021, this scammer privately contacted me via Whatsapp. The scammer got my number from one of my WTB topics.

The scammer mentioned that they have Spider-Man: Edge of Time PS3 and Captain America: Super Soldier PS3 for sale. Stupidly enough, I believed that the seller does have it by sharing pics of both games. I agreed to buy both for RM100. I also asked if they have X-Men: Origins Wolverine. Again, I believed them, and agreed for another RM50.

I was too excited and I transferred RM150 to that scammer's Hong Leong bank account.

Details are:

After that, they mentioned that it will post it to J&T Express on that day (6 April) before 5 pm. Like a moron, I said thank you. I kept sending Whatsapp messages to the scammer with no replies. Didn't pick up Whatsapp voice call, and for whatever reason, I called the direct number and it is said that it is not in service.

It is embarrassing and stupid of me to believe that scammer. The first warning sign that I should have known is that the scammer does not have a Lowyat account. The second warning sign is that they do not provide their Facebook page.

So TLDR, don't fall for this scammer's lies, and do not be too eager or stupid like me. It is just RM150, but it is a heavy price to pay for believing an outsider blindly. This is my first scam case, so this is a great lesson for me to not blindly transfer my money to other people. My poor judgement led to me to this, and I hope other Lowyat users do not fall for this scammer.
