Do you think the Nexus 4 price is right?

hi guys,

Today I went to lowyat to get a look at Nexus 4. The price is 1649 RM. In USA its less than USD 300. So equivalently, It should be around 1000RM max in malaysia. But the price 650 RM is more than USA. Why LG is making so much discrimination?

Recently I am doing some research to buy on Samsung Galaxy SIII but I have kept my options open for Nexus 4 also. Before I ask my question I would like to share my experience in market survey. Following are my observations....

1. First I checked the price of Galaxy SIII I9300 and I found price varies from RM 1683 - RM 1699. I called the shops also and the prices are fixed and they can send it to home or I can buy from their shops. They are saying it is original set and samsung warranty. The AP set ones are priced like 1499 RM.

2. Then I went to times square. All the prices are ranging from RM 1780 to RM1850. Different shops sell the same product with this price range.

3. I went to lowyatt. I asked so many shops the price for SIII, now the price varies from 1650 RM to 1899 RM.

4. I went to samsung original store and the price is 1999 RM. In samsung store, I asked how the other guys outside selling the same product with lesser prices upto 1650 RM. They said all those are AP sets and not originals and even 5RM less than 1999RM can be considered fake set.

5. Then I decided to ask Samsung Service Center at Lowyatt level 4. But horrible situation there. There was very long queue. So just to ask for some info, I need to wait for my turn after 50 people.

6. Then I asked in the Samsung Store that the outside guys gives warranty also. So why should I not trust them? Then they said, when I buy from them, they will say that its samsung warranty, but when you go to check them at service center, the samsung guys will tell you that its fake. And then when you go to the same shop to return it, they wont accept and they even don't recognize you and if they recognize you, then they will say, if the product is once sold, they can't take it back. I just heared it from the samsung store guys, but i am not sure if happens like this.

So after all this I become totally confused and did not buy the phone although I had decided to buy it today. But all these situation make it very suspicious.

Actually I need information about following questions

1. The sets which the outside dealers say , original galaxy SIII, is it really original or they cheat?
2. Is it possible for anyone to sell the original samsung warranty SIII set below the Samsung set price 1999 RM? I mean how they manage to sell the same product with less price?
3. If I go to samsung service center to check the originality of the product , on what basis they check? Do they check upon Serial Number or EMEI number? Like if one S/N is already registered by some user? If they check only upon that, I know that S/N or EMEI number can be modified also. Do anybody have idea how they check the validity of the product?
4. At last should I buy the product from outside dealers or from Samsung? I can buy it from Samsung at last, but I need to know the truth. What happens in the industry?

Sorry Guys, I wrote a very big text to explain my questions.
I will be very grateful to know all your expert answers. After that I can take decision and buy a new galaxy SIII.

Samsung Galaxy S best price

hi folks,

I am a foreigner in malaysia. I have decided to buy the Samsung Galaxy S (16gb) here. So I have two options now

1. Buy from MAXIS with data plan
2. Buy from retail store

1. For Option 1 can anybody suggest me should I go for this? Is it profitable to get from MAXIS? Is there any hidden cost in this deal. Please share if anybody has any experience of such type.

2. I have done survey at Lowyatt. I got the prices like RM 1900 (with AP warranty, that is suppliers warranty) and RM 2300 (with Original samsung warranty for 1 year). I am planning to go for original samsung warranty only. So does anybody know any place where the price is less than RM 2300 or it is the best price. Another this is, I asked this price in lowyatt at a shop which is very small. So it is reliable to buy just any shop if he is giving me the product with warranty? or I should go for any specialized retail shop?

If anybody know please suggest me how to check the genuine of a handphone while purchasing.
