Should I replace my aircond

I am hoping sifu sifu here can help me shed some lights

I had my bedroom aircond replaced like 8 years ago because on it causing power tripping. I was at a tight budget so I got a 1.0hp Samsung non inverter. It was working fine until mid of last yr. problems started to visit.

At first I called in a technician, they said the gas is low. So after refilled everything was fine, then 3 months later, again, not cooling, called technician again, this time they suspected leaking but they can't find the source of leaking so they just refilled gas for me, I not sure what was the reason already that they can't gave me a solution besides refilling gas.

So after 3 months again, my aircond not cooling, and it was the hottest weather ever, sweating everyday even aircond was on, so again called in technician. This time I used Aircond Hero. I told them about the leakage and they suggested a copper pipe bypass because after checking indoor and outdoor unit, it was most likely leaking in wall concealed pipe. So I paid roughly 800 for it. After that I thought, ok finally no more sweating nights.

To my horror, few days ago, I suddenly feel that my aircond is not blowing cold air. So this time I called Aircond Hero again since they did the pipe bypass. So last Monday they came, apparently after like an hour it seemed to me that they got no clue what was wrong. They were talking in other language which I can't comprehend, in the end they charged me 80 for trouble shooting and 90 for refilling gas. I told them what's wrong and they told me they are not sure whether this was caused by leakage. Ask me to wait and see. Wtf.

Maybe it was raining at night these few days I didn't feel anything wrong until yesterday I was standing under the aircond and .....no cool air blown out. Damn it I was so pissed. Can anyone maybe share what might be wrong in this case ? I am so so so frustrated with these sweating nights that I can't sleep well.

Should I be replacing another aircond? What's the duration which a normal aircond should last ? Thanks in advanced. I will most likely installing a non inverter 1.5hp this time if you guys think I should replace.

Hi all, I just came back from my CNY break and couldn't start my car icon_question.gif it was parked for 7 days in my condo car park prior.

When I ignited the car for the first time, mcm weak battery then after few attempts to start again, the brake pedal resisted and engine light & battery light were on, together with engine oil light ( noob lady driver, tak tau pape ). I called the Service Centre for help so get him to check whether I still entitle for another free battery since it's still under warranty, I replaced the first one in August 2015. He said yes so arrangement were made so I go fetch him from SC to my place, it was nearly 5.45 pm. Already prepared to pao him one Ang pow for helping then he called, probably off work d so he said will come tomorrow morning to inspect, however battery was out of stock. I asked him when restock and he said no idea.

Can I ask all sifu here anyone claim 2 batteries under warranty before? If we only entitle for one piece, where is the best place to get it? I understand that our battery is not the same size from the other car with similar capacity. That foreman said if it's really battery prob then he can't do anything because out of stock , I need my car to work. Please advice..... cry.gif cry.gif
Dampness trapped between bathroom floor tiles

I received complains from the lower unit tenant that water I said leaking from my bathroom into the wall of lower unit condo, the managements guy came for inspection and he suggested that it is caused by water droplets trapped between the tiles and asked me to get contractors to fill up the gap with cement, then I proceeded to Kaodim.com requesting quotation and these are the suggestions

1) hacking existing tiles, waterproof it, do new layer of tiling
2) chemical injecting from lower unit
3) epoxy resurface

I personally do not fancy hacking if possible, any sifu here can provide me their professional insights?
Total lost car

Hi all, I got into an accident in 2014 which my Myvi was declared total loss, so I had done all the documentations for insurance loss and I thought that supposedly the car will now be disposed.

However I received a call from the workshop which the car wreckage was sent to, the caller asked told me that they had bought the car from the bank and now required my thumb print to release the ownership right, I am confused, I thought once I done the insurance part, the ownership should be the bank already, why the hell is she needing my thumb print?

It is just me or it is fishy? Needing input by all sifus here.

Thanks in advance.

Contractor to recommend

I was in the midst of removing my old kitchen cabinet and installed with the new one. Sam from Homemark KC whom I engaged to do the new one recommended me to add on few power points in the kitchen. The installation date is scheduled and I have yet to found a contractor for the wiring work. So I looked in Kaodim.com and came across this company. Jojo Renovation and Construction. The correspondent was Christopher, whom replied to my request almost instantly and quoted me RM 890 for installing 1 power point for kitchen hood, 3 extra normal power point, 1 on/off switch for kitchen hood and replacing my ceiling fan. Although he wasn't in the country when I contacted him and bugged him for earliest date.

When he returned, upon inspecting my unit, he suggested tiling work for kitchen backsplash as there were few pieces of tiles fell off during the kitchen cab removal and quickly slot in his tiling worker, Selamat to do the needful right before the schedule date of my kitchen cabinet installation. I am very happy with his promptly response each time, I am a control freak and not an easy person to work with. Anyone needs general contractor can contact him with no hesitation.

Christopher Kok 0163393348

Besides I am also very happy with the new kitchen cabinet handled by Homemark KC, I used them because of positive verdicts here and also their fair price. The sifu they assigned to install the kitchen also a nice guy who did his work meticulously. The contact of Homemark KC as below :

Sam Liew 0172186660

Pls bear with the 80% completed kitchen.

Kitchen wall tiles for backsplash

Hi there,

I am removing my current kitchen cabinet and rebuild a new one. However during the removal of the kitchen cab, few pieces of the existing wall tiles fell off and upon doing wiring work to add few power points the contractor offered me for tiling work as well. But I am not keen to hack the entire kitchen wall and retile, due to budget constraint, I only plan to replace about 20 pieces of the tiles for backsplash, which type of tiles should I choose ? Ceramic or porcelain ? I am noob in this and kindly assist me in choosing. The tiles are 1x1 sf

Trust or not to trust

I am in a 4 years relationship, very mundane, not those love story in the movie like dramatic type. We usually hang out once or twice a week at each other place and rarely out paktor, he don't like shopping etc. I am ok with that as sometimes I rather shop alone than seeing his impatient look while I shop. We keep our relationship under radar to avoid problems in office as we were colleagues until 6 months ago I jumped ship to another company.

My bf once told me he loves the fact that I am not a clingy type who insisted to hangout everyday so he has his time and freedom to do this things. At times I also will feel insecure but I didn't act out, I have confident issue.

I trusted him and trust was not an issue. However my fren heard from someone that my bf was spotted with another gal, no details as she also heard that rumor. I cannot say I am not moved by this rumor but I don feel good. If I ask him sure will quarrel -.-!! I am not in a mood for drama now.

Should I just observe him and continue as it is or confront him? I don't think he is cheating though unless I caught him red handed . He is a jolly person with lotsa frens, gals or guys. Any advice? Especially guys ? Gals I know tend to ask me to take action.

In my life I see so many cases of where ppl in long term relationship broke up after 7-10 yrs and during the long period, whether marriage were brought up or what not, then in a flash, like within a year, found a new partner and get married.

I am wondering, is right timing or right person to be blamed? Am I safe to say that if after 5 yrs a couple still not married then chances are pretty slim after that?

Funny how life turn out sometimes.

Concrete tabletop or wooden carcass

Dear sifus,

My condo was a sub sale unit which I have been living for 5 years. Lately the kitchen top starting to show wear and tear signs by the sink. It was an L shaped kitchen top and now I am planning to remove the current cabinet and build a new one. Since it is only a condo which doesn't have much space, it's combined wet and dry kitchen.

My question is, I actually prefer concrete top as I believe it is more durable however the ID I consulted pointed out that the floor tiles might need to be hacked in order to do the concrete work which I am not so keen. Because budget constraint. The renovation work is actually impromptu because of the problem near the sink. So in this case, what material I should choose instead? If I install an ABS carcass but top with quartz top, would it be durable enough for the next 10 years? I do light cooking frequently.

Please advice.

Thanks

I booked a Ford Fiesta Sedan earlier of the month and submitted for loan approval the same day. ( 11-5-2014 ). The SA promised can deliver my car within 5 days after loan approved. I signed up HLB loan on 17-5-2014 and until now the SA is still unable to deliver my car, he claimed that there is some problem between Sime Darby and the port, it has been almost 2 weeks and I have yet to have any news regarding my car.

My question is, is it ok for me to cancel the order and proceed to buy another car instead? I urgently need a car as my previous car had declared total loss.

Thanks

Anyone did a total loss insurance claim before? How's the procedure like and how long will it take to get back the cheque? I work as a sales rep and I can't live without a car however I need to know roughly how long will the insurance company take to declare total lost or otherwise. Need to arrange for transport ASAP.

It's my Myvi which hit by a Camry. Damages including bent driver side pillar and broken wind shield because it hit a divider before overturned to its side.

Should I start looking for new car while waiting for their verdict?
Insurance claim for total loss

Hi guys,

Just few questions for whoever gone through these cases.

Last Wednesday when I was heading to work, my Myvi was hit real hard by a white Camry from behind. It was not far away from the Kerinchi toll heading towards federal highway. I believed the car was at its full speed because I saw him came towards me and next second my car went into a roller coaster. My car lost control and hit the right side divider and turned to its side. I am lucky to be unharmed but the man who towed my car said it is total loss. Car roof collapsed at driver side and 2 tyres were out, not to mentioned front and back both kemek beyond recognition.

I after found out the man was actually having epilepsy fits when it happened, so he was not conscious when it all happened. When we were on the ride on ambulance to hospital, I spoke to him when he regain conscious ( normal after fits recover ), I asked him whether he has this attack before and he replied yes, twice last night. I was shocked that he was still on the road knowing himself has unstable condition and I am now seeking legal advice to sue this man. Imagine if when the accident happened and it is long q in front, I am sure I will not be here anymore. Not to mention if I were a mother with baby in my car ( but I was alone )

My question is, when I report to police, I am not sure he would do the same, what if he didn't report, can I still able to claim his insurance? I am not sure whether will the police investigate further or summon him. When I saw my car on the tow truck, I realized even both number plates were lost, what if he didn't know my car plate even he went report, will this case be solved with only my statement?

The tow person told me I can submit all documents to him and he will help to settle claim. After I went home I realized what if his workshop is not panel under my insured company? Will there be possibility the insurance company deny my claim? Though his name card stated PIAM approved workshop.

I may sound like a bimbo but please advice. I am confused.

Thanks
