Setting laptop to low power mode

Hi, I'm using an NEC P8210 with C2D 2.0GHZ and a X1600 grahics card

My laptop is such a heat monster. It always gets so insanely hot. What i normally do to cool it is unplug my cord den run on my battery in Economy mode.

I was wondering can someone teach me how to set my laptop to run in economy mode even with the cord on?? Or perhaps teach me how to off my graphics card when I dont need it?? Btw I'm using a notepad cooler and yet its still so hot. Today i left my lappie on my bed with the cooler on. My room was like super crap hot when i came back from uni. And it is pretty worrying as the weather in Aus is getting hotter by the day.

Thx in advance for the help.

Bit Torrent not workin

Hey everyone, my friends and i are having a problem with our bittorrent programs. He uses BitComet and i use U torrent. I use the same program on both my laptop and my desktop. These are our problems.

i) The torrent does not start downloading even though there are 20000 people uploading and about 15000 people downloading. Sometimes it does not start for a couple of days. My friend's friend told me, tmnet has sort of close the ports for p2p. Isit true??

ii) Aside from not being able to download the files, my desktop has a problem downloading the torrent file itself. However, my laptop can download the torrent files... there are no difference between the U torrent on either computers. Both same version and up to date. Firefox gave me this message: could not be opened because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences. IE gave me this: Invalid menu handle.

When i clicked on the torrent I wanted to download, they did not even give me a choice to save or open the torrent file. The messages( the one i mentioned above) came up straight.

THX for the upcoming help. Looking foward to it.

Hei guys. I was wondering what is wrong with my mouse. I have been using an optical mouse from creative for about 1 year already. But a week ago the mouse started acting weird. The cursor hangs awhile then the speakers make the ding dong noise then the cursor is ok for a moment then it hangs again and din dong noise comes out.

Any idea what is wrong?? Do i need a new mouse?? All advice is appreciated. Oh yeah, i checked the usb connection for the mouse and it was fitted into the socket properly.
