car accident, motorcycle hit the left

hi guy

want to consult on something
early this morning i had a car accident with a motorcycle.
I wanted to change from 3rd link to 2nd link, so I put the signal and looking for good time, but because the car in front stopped and i was too focus on looking at the good timing, i didn't noticed it but i managed to do the emergency break and didn't bang the car.
the motorcycle hit nearby nearby to my front left Tyre and it's downed. probably because my car was toward the left and he couldn't make the emergency break in time. I pretty sure I was still within my link but he insisted i was in between of the line.
from what i saw he had minor injury on right leg, but it seem ok cause he still walked fine and able to ride away after we decided to bring it police station ( i was scared because they were banging my car door and tried to make me get out.

so i wanted to know if it is my fault? how would it go?
should I just settle with him or is best to just go to police station.
