I don't know where to start..

Ok, let me start with an example:

i have a processor and i dunno how much cores does it have. so i just run the following command:

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep processor | wc -l

so it will show the processor's core count..

let say i want to check the MHz speed of my processor:

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep MHz

this will produce a line which is most likely like this (for dual core):

cpu MHz : 3160
cpu MHz : 3160

and my question is, how can i get only the value of the 3160? i mean, when i type the command, it will only display the number of mhz only just like the 1st example.

hope anyone can help me out.. thanks
