brother's facebook and his business page suspended

My brother runs cafe and both his personal facebook and his cafe page were suspended yesterday, for activities violating facebook's code of conduct or something.

Facebook told him to upload his IC for verification, which he did. But a couple hours later, facebook said their decision was final and cannot appeal anymore, and the picture above was seen whenever he logins to facebook now.

What can we do? He never posted anything recently also, too busy with business to browse facebook the past few days, no idea why he got suspended forever like this. Facebook also one kind, never show a snapshot of what the offending thing was that caused his account suspension, really dunno what happen.

His cafe's facebook page been running for 3+ years also and made a lot of posts throughout the years d. Is there a way for him to recover his accounts, or is he screwed?

If your baby passed away due to hospital negligenc

Situation:

baby born premature in public hospital, sent to NICU right away after C-sec birth. Parents not allowed to see baby the entire time baby was in NICU due to covid policy. Baby passed away 1 week after birth in NICU.

The baby's report mentioned the baby passing away due to e coli, and the parents now highly suspect it was because the nurse didn't wash their hands properly before handling the baby. Somemore the entire time the parents never interacted with the baby while the baby was in NICU (as mentioned above, covid policy, no parents allowed to visit).

Is there anything the parents can do? Take legal action? Complain to MoH?

Confinement when your baby's in NICU?

Anyone here experienced checking into a confinement center after wife gave birth to preterm baby? How did it feel?

We booked a confinement center early this year, because we were advised to quickly arrange these things before all the good places are fully booked end of this year.

Wife's expected delivery is in mid Nov, but her water broke early and she had contraction, so the doctor gave her an emergency c sec and our twin babies were born at 27 weeks, and they'll be in hospital NICU for at least 2 months until around their original delivery date. Wife was already upset and stressed at that time, so I didn't want to give her more stress and we just checked into the confinement center as originally planned.

I dunno, mang. It just feels really strange to pay for a confinement center when we can't make use of the most valuable service they could provide: taking care of our newborn babies for a month. Not to mention the entire thing isn't cheap either here in PJ.

Any of you guys went through the same thing?

Because I notice when I pay with my maybank credit card with 18 month installment chosen, the page seems like it still wants to charge me full amount 8k upfront, and denies my payment after I enter OTP

I dunno. The whole confinement/postnatal care centers sound like a scam to me.

Do you really need to spend that RM10k-20k for one month of caring for your wife after birth? That's a lotta money. Feels so unnecessary, but the wife will give you a death stare if you don't give her one.

How did our parents' generation do it? These sort of thing don't exist back then. How do poorer people even have kids if that RM10k is literally their 2-3 months worth of salary?

I've been using Luno to buy crypto, but I recently saw on Facebook some people pointing out Luno shows you crypto being higher value compared to Binance? Why is that? Are they being dishonest?

For example this is what I see right now on Binance. 1 BTC = RM198k

On Luno open market, 1 BTC = RM207k

That's like 4% more expensive on Luno. What is going on?

Scam call from +019017840?

Anyone received a call from +019017840 recently? I just received the call an hour ago. When I picked up the call, I heard an automated voice claiming to be from LHDN and it said I'm receiving the call due to income tax that I still owe. I was told to press 0 or something if I want to speak to a pegawai. Which I did.

A malay guy came on the line and told me I owe 13k in taxes, saying a company was created under my name last year, and the 13k is the amount owed in income tax. Was told that amount will be deducted from my bank account or something, but the guy didn't instruct or lead me into believing I should transfer money to their fake account to settle or something.

I was also given a reference number for the case, that I highly suspect is fake because there's no way case reference numbers for LHDN will be that short (it's an 8 digit number with 3 alphabets in front)

I don't know. It sounds like a scam, but what's their payoff? Maybe this is just a set up for them to call me again in the near future to get me to transfer money to them?

Is it normal for some companies to want you to provide pre-employment medical checkup, but they won't cover the cost? I've worked in 3 different companies so far, but this is the first time where the employer wants me to pay for my own pre-employment checkup

I'm now 1 month into being laid off from work. Feels bad man.

I'm in the engineering field, working in PJ. Used to work a couple years in a Japanese MNC, left for another western MNC mid last year because the salary is much better (went from RM3k to RM5k) with better benefits. Then last month, all the guys who were hired in my batch were laid off to cut operation cost, was a direct order from the Asia HQ so the office had to comply. Last in, first out, so us newest employees were the easiest to let go. It was MSS, and I was given a pretty good severance package.

Applied to various places on jobstreet, attended 3 interviews, but no offers so far. I asked the previous Japanese MNC if I can go back to them (I'm still in contact with the ex-colleagues and knew the company's hiring), they said sure, but offered me slightly less than what I made previously, and it'll be a 1 year contract this time, just in case I jump ship again.

Should I take their offer and go back to working for the company I left?

How common for employers to offer higher EPF%

Just got a new job offer. Part of the benefit is the 17% employer EPF contribution.

I never knew some companies would offer higher than the normal 13% employer contribution. Is this very common?

I don't see the 17% contribution being mentioned on the letter of offer though, but the HR lady assured me everyone working there is getting 17%, so I'll just take her word for it (American MNC)...?

Interested in a condo unit for living with my wife. Planning to start a family soon.

Owner offers 460k, 980sqft, Paramount View condo, leasehold.

I've visited the property, it's currently being rented out to 3 uni students. Owner will give us all the furniture but I don't want any of them. They just look so worn and depressing. Owner isn't willing to reduce the price in exchange of us not taking the furnishing.

I'm not sure if I should go ahead. I'm worried if I'll end up with a bunch of hidden defects that I'm not aware of. I don't really trust college students to take good care of their rented places.

The owner seemed to be very eager of selling it ASAP. What should I do to make sure I won't regret buying it?
