Hi Friends,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to address my questions, but here it goes:

I got a friend who few years ago bought a house with her ex-bf, but unfortunately, their relationship gone sour and decided to go on separate
ways. After some consideration, she agreed to give all her share (50%) to her ex-bf, in return, she just want her name to be taken out
of the house title.

Her concern is, IF her ex will be bankrupt, is she will be affected? as of now, she can't get any loan because of the bad record of the
payment of her ex to their "ex-dream house" (he haven't paid in a few months).

She contacted a lawyer and the lawyer told her that she WILL be affected in case her ex will be bankrupt, because even though she
canceled her name on the joint house title, she is still part of that title...a little confusing and contradicting in my opinion, but I'm not
sure if it is true...

She and her ex are not in good terms anymore, she doesn't really care of the house, she just want to get rid of her name in that bloody
house title. oh, by the way, their house loan just turned 5 years old...

Please advice
