Eversendai

Eversendai is poised to be rerated with earnings recovery which is expected by 2HFY14. The group, which built its first project back in 1982 (Kompleks Dayabumi) as erection-of-structural-steel contractor, has since moved up the value chain to become a fully integrated structural steel turnkey and specialist power plant installation contractor. True, the stock performance has been disappointing since its IPO (floated at RM1.70 in July 2011). But, we opine the Group’s specialization in steel structures will bode well in the long term as evident in developed countries, where steel structures are generally preferred due to higher labor costs and design flexibility that structural steel offers. Also, we believe Eversendai to benefit from construction spending both in Malaysia (especially high rise projects such as Warisan Merdeka, a landmark tower in Naza Metropolis, etc) and the Middle East (especially Qatar which is now its largest market), and the proposed RM50bn RAPID project (which is expected to contribute to its Oil and Gas business).

Daiman ~~ Fire Fire Fire

We recently had a meeting with Daiman Development’s management in Johor Bahru and came away with more positive prospects of the company after seeing the upcoming developments. We are convinced that the developments will spark renewed interest in the company and would also become one of the key earnings drivers for the group’s future earnings. The upcoming JV development in Plentong as well as the opening of “DoubleTree by Hilton” hotel next month in Johor Bahru will see exciting recurring income coming on stream soon. Meanwhile, we also see further deep underlying value in the company after re-rating the commercial land in Plentong from RM70/psf to RM140/psf as we decide to benchmark against the transacted price used when they disposed the 50% stake in the 12.3 acre land to its JV partners. Consequently, it also revised the company’s fair value from RM7.22 to RM7.79 per share or RM120m higher

Brahim- Got some upcoming news flows

Brahim's seeking ways to grow halal market pie

IN-FLIGHT caterer Brahim's Holdings Bhd is exploring ways to increase its market share in the global halal food market, which is worth an estimated US$640 billion (RM2.04 trillion) annually.

Brahim's, which is famous for its ready-to-use cooking sauces and meat dishes marketed to more than 20 foreign markets, has a less than one per cent market share, said its group executive chairman Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad Badawi.

"While this will translate to about RM570 million, it is not very significant. We are finding ways to have a bigger presence in the market," Ibrahim told Business Times in a recent interview.

He said Brahim's is looking at asset injection and securing new catering contracts overseas and to grow its existing business.

"We have a 60:40 joint-venture (JV) in Japan. We see the potential there to develop the halal food market. We are planning to set up a warehouse and distribution centre," Ibrahim added.

He also said that the company is banking on Jordan to promote its military food products in the Middle East.

The company, via its wholly-owned unit Brahim's Overseas Ventures Sdn Bhd, has a food production factory in Jordan.

The factory, a 50:50 JV with King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, will serve as Brahim's hub for that market.

In Saudi Arabia, Brahim's is close to inking a US$500 million deal to supply 10.1 million halal meals to Asians performing pilgrimage in Mecca and support personnel.

"We believe that with all these initiatives, we will be able to contribute slightly over RM1 billion to the market by 2017," Ibrahim said.

BUY BUY AirAsia

If ppl notice recently, AirAsia and MAS share prices shrink sharply. If u calculate thoroughly, is not tht severe for AirAsia. It is bcz of the FRS139. which need to take in the unrealised losses n fair value losses based on mark-to-market..
It is because all these are non-cash flow items. which will not have an impact on balance sheet

If u calculate it, it was down 5% qoq which is reasonable given tht 2Q is the worst quarter .... n not 43% as reported in the media. Tht's y none of the analyst revised lower their forecast as this non-cash items. Most analysts are still calling BUY..
Hope u can guys can support n push it back to RM4.00 ... LOL
