Clutch adjustment.. possible?

Guys...

i just wondering.. can we get the Service Center to adjust our car clutch to make it a bit "soft" when step on it.

The reason i'm asking is because i'm driving a Manual car and last 2 weeks i have a problem on my left leg that makes it a bit hard for me to step on the clutch all the way down in order to change gear or start the car.

I'm thinking to have the SC to adjust the clutch a bit to make it softer to step on or maybe make it so that i dont have to step all the way down when changin gears etc.

Or does anyone else have a better solution or suggestion?

what other option that's running through my mind is changing the car to get a Auto car... that would be an extreme version... but again i would like to settle the clutch problem first if possible...

Its been 2 weeks since i last drove my Manual Vios

Guys... i have a question...

Can anyone suggest a good book for Web Application development for creating a web-based application.

I'm expecting to get a task of revamping my company Client-Server Application to a web-based application (for the company intranet) and now i need a book that i can use to study for the migration.

I already have the SQL Server and the Company IIS in place, getting ready for the migration. Now i need a good book that would help me in the development.

If possible i wanted to use the latest VB 2010 or C# 2010 + ASP.Net for development.

I've created a few Client-Server Applications before but never create any WEB_based applications..

SO i need some reading materials regarding this new way (at elast for me) of development

Network Connection to oversea HQ Office

hi all Network sifu's

i was approached by a visiting Exec from our HQ Office located oversea. He wanted to linked out local server/data server to our HQ located in Japan.

i want to be prepared, so can anyone share their experience with this kind of intercontinental network setup.

1. what are the best practice and how to do it efficiently
2. Do i need to change the current internet connection package? (currently we're using fixed IP 2MB line from streamyx for emails & internet)
3. What about the security etc?
4. ANy devices that i need to add to the current network? (now Internal network --> Netgear --> Firewall -->modem --> Internet)
5. is VPN a must?

if anyone got anymore suggestion, do let me know.

UBS Software dongle not detected

guys...

i have a problem on how to detect this UBS Accounting Software Parallel dongle key from this new notebook which dont come with a parallel printer port.

here is more information on the version etc

UBS Accounting ver 9.1
- When i start it shows for "educational purposes Only", meaning that the dongle is not detected..
- The dongle supplied is should be connected to the Printer port, but since this is a new laptop... so no Parallel port existed.. so i go and buy those USB->Parallel Port converted... connected the dongle..
- the laptop detect the converted as a USB Printing Port in the Device Manager...
- but still i got the same error when starting the UBS software...

so anyone every solve this issue before? or know anywhere i can get help on this?

HDR -how to do it?

Guys...

since i just acquired a new digicam and being bombarded by the high quality of the HDR picture you guys posted in here... now i need to try it myself to see if i can really do it...

so can anyone care to explain a lil bit on the step needed to take the HDR photo?

i did a lil google myself and 've been reading this FAQ on HDR HDR FAQ

got a few idea already but now need more infor from the expert in here...

and i saw that my digicam is listed in the list of camera ctually capable of doing HDR (technically they listed TZ3 but mine is TZ15.. an upgrade of TZ3 so maybe can do it)

so here is the Camera list HERE

can anyone share their step in taking the HDR picture?

.. the problem starts if the content grows beyond the navigation section... anyway t make the navigation "grow" with the content page?
.. and i'm not using any frame for this

or if anyone can point me to any online help that can help me with this also will be a great help.

Changed job but later regret the move

hope its ok to ask here...

anyone here just change/switch job to other company and then later regret that you make the move?

I have a friend who switch job to a bigger company, of course the pay is better (by 20% increase) but he really hated the office environment at his new place and the new job is not as per described when he first join the company and he's been working in the new company for close to 7 months already.

in the beginning it was ok but later on, he's always been changing job description from System Analyst to now System Analyst cum Purchaser as well...

so anyone here have changed jobs and later regret the move? and really wish you could join back your previous company...

Which is the problem?

hi guys...

i need help detemining which of my hardware got problem.....
The PC is just over the Warranty period of 1 years last week... so i felt pretty unlucky already... (

The hardware:
- Intel Pentium 4 3GHz
- Intel Mobo (does this suppose to have 3 years warranty?)
- 1 GB DDR2 Kingston RAM
- Winfast Nvidia 6600 Graphic card

Scenario
- My PC was in sleep mode, when suddenly my house experience black-out (maybe due to lightning).
- Then a few hours later i try to swoth-on the pc, nothing appeared on the monitor but i did noticed that all the fans connector tot he mobo are working fine as well.
- BTW i was using a surge protector as well...

Investigation - The Suspect
1st Suspect -> Monitor
- i thought the monitor had "kaput' to i tested on my other machine.. it works fine

2nd Suspect -> Graphic card
- I tested the Graphic card on another machine--> it works fina also

3rd Suspect -> RAM
- Again i tested on another machine --> Works fine as well..

now i'm down to 2 main suspect.. the Mobo and the Processor.. but i'm just too scared to take it out and test on my other rig...

Questions
- How to know which is broken between the mobo and the processor?
- when i start the pc.. nothing would appear on the monitor? i just wondering will the mobo with no processor display the bios setting on the screen? or atleast give us a beep-beep sound? since if this is the case then i would suspect that the mobo is broken...
- How to know if the processor is broken as well?

Meter hit 120000km... what do i need to service?

hi guys....

my car meter (odometer?) just hit 120 000km yesterday... so i guess its time to go service this baby...

Details:
- Proton Wira ABack 1.3 Manual
- Year 2001
- Serviced every 5000km
- Used Petronas Syntium Semi Sintetic engine oil..
- Last Service November 2006

so .. i need a list of items that i need to service/change this time around.. since i heard that this is a very crucial number for car lifetime...

what i *think need to service/change..
- Timing belt
- Lubricant (engine oil)
- plugs
- ??
- ??

so can anyone help by suggesting what i need to change in this round of service?

or maybe point me to any link that list their Service Manual for Proton Wira? since i'll need the reference for my future service time (125k/130k/135k km)

Jentik-Jentik (Moisquito Larve) in Aquarium

ok People.. need help here...

since the last couple of weekes.. i noticed that my aquarium is becoming the Moisquito Nesting Place... with a few Jentik-jentik and stuff in the tank....

i cant believe this is happening. since i figure fish are suppose to eat Moisquito Larve right? and i also notice alot of moisquito "youngling" on the hood on the aquarium.... and the larve case (kepompong) is floating in the tank like nobody business...

below is the content of the aquarium..

Size: 3ft
Fishes: 2 medium size Lampam, 2 small Sepat and 1 big "DBKL" fish...
i use black sand on the bottom, 5 rocks & 1 dead tree stump as decoration.
Filtering: on top filtering...
Water Change duration: every 2 weeks (change half the tank).. and every 4 weeks.. total aquarium cleaning...

and last nite i take out all the sand and gravel and change the water... now left the fish with no decoration etc....

so why do i have this Moisquito thing in there and how to prevent it from happening again...

NEED
- We need to setup a network scanning for all trafic coming in/out from the company Internet access (Gateway)
- Must be able to scan in/out email, spam, virus etc....
- Provide report on the virus/spam cought by the application.

Used
- We using streamyx enteprise
-- so basically the connection is as follows [TELEPHONE LINE] --> [MODEM]--> [FIREWALL/ROUTER]--> [internal network]

Considering
- We are considering the use of these product...
- PANDA GateDefender 8100
- FORTINET Fortigate 100a
- WATCHGUARD Firebox X500

so anyone here have any other recommendation on the applicationetc.. or have any experience in using one of the said product listed above?

Buying Toys/Model Kits Online

hi all...

as the topic suggested..

maybe some of us bought their toys/model kits/replica/hobby stuff from online due to the "hard-to-get" nature of those thing... so we turn to online for sourcing...

so can anyone share your experience in dealing with these online store.

i know that some of use here prefer to get from Hobby Link Japan maybe due to their many stock and collection. or maybe due to the cheaper shipping rates? or currency rates (now RM1 = Y0.0329)

while other maybe prefer to get from a USA based retailer.

and others maybe prefer to get from Singapore (for example www.timemachine-studio.com)

or maybe your toys got stuck at Kastam.. how do you get settle it etc.. our forumer Kastam experience

what are the DO's and DONT's etc...

so can anyone share your experience because some of us here maybe (me raise my hand ) thinking of getting from online shop but just a bit paranoid about it.
