FD or pay down loan account

Hi all,

Hypothetical question. Been cracking my head for a long time:

Assuming I have windfall RM100k cash and currently have a rented property (lets say current outstanding loan RM200k) and I declare rental income to IRB (meaning I can deduct loan interest expense against rental income). My current effective loan interest rate is 4.65%. My existing IRB tax rate for the rental income is 25%.

In the interim, I have an opportunity to place this RM100k into a FD with interest rate of 4.5% p.a.

Which makes more sense or makes finalancially more sound:

(A) To place this RM100k into the FD and generate interest (at the same time pay more bank interest, but less income tax ultimately as the rental income is lower); OR

(B) pay down the loan of RM100k, and save bank interest but pay more income tax (of course forego the interest from FD).

Also assume I pay sufficient taxes so we assume IRB investigating is not relevant.
