India's Assam state bans all Islamic schools

An Indian state ruled by Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist party has passed a law abolishing all Islamic schools, saying they provided sub-standard education.

Opposition politicians criticised the move and said it reflected the government’s anti-Muslim attitude in the Hindu-majority country.

More than 700 of the schools, known as madrasas, in Assam will be shut by April, the state’s education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told the local assembly.

“We need more doctors, police officers, bureaucrats, and teachers, from the minority Muslim community rather than imams for mosques,” said Sarma, a rising star in the prime minister’s Bharatiya Janata party (BJP).

The government would convert them to regular schools as education provided in the madrasas could not prepare anyone for “the temporal world and its earthly concerns”, he said.

Opposition politicians said the move was an attack on Muslims. “The idea is to wipe out Muslims,” said Wajed Ali Choudhury, a lawmaker from the opposition Congress party.

More than 100 retired senior civil servants and diplomats on Tuesday urged the BJP government in India’s largest state of Uttar Pradesh to repeal a new law criminalising forced religious conversion of brides, which is seen as aimed against Muslims.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/...islamic-schools

Mara digital

Peniaga harapkan bantuan kerajaan

Iklan kena banyak supaya orang tahu kewujudan Mara Digital Mall,” katanya.

https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...l-kian-merosot/

Not sure slowpoke

http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...h.FMaoIldz.gbpl

KUALA LUMPUR: Gas Malaysia Bhd today announced that the revision of the natural gas tariff for the non-power sector in Peninsular Malaysia will be effective from Jan 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Gas Malaysia said it had received the approval from the government in a letter from the Energy Commission dated Nov 28, 2017.

“The government has prescribed the incentive-based regulation (IBR) framework which sets the base tariff (BT) for a regulatory period of three years from January 2017 and allows changes in the gas costs to be passed through the gas cost pass through (GCPT) mechanism every six months,” it said.

The average natural gas BT is set at RM30.90 per one million British Thermal Units (MMBtu) for the period beginning January to June 2018 in line with Gas Malaysia’s announcement on Dec 28, 2016.

In addition, under the GCPT mechanism, a surcharge of RM1.62 per MMBtu will apply to all tariff categories due to the increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) price against the reference price in the BT in this period.
This translates to an average effective tariff of RM32.52 per MMBtu.

Effective Jan 1, 2018, type A users or residential consumers will be charged a revised BT of RM22.30 per MMBtu from the current BT of RM20.23 per MMBtu.

For Type B users that consume up to 600 MMBtu annually, the revised BT effective Jan 1, 2018 will be RM28.78 per MMBtu compared with the existing BT of RM26.11 per MMBtu.

For annual gas consumption of 601 to 5,000 MMBtu, the revised BT effective Jan 1 next year will be RM28.93 per MMBtu compared with the current BT of RM26.25 per MMBtu, while for annual gas consumption of 5,001 to 50,000 MMBtu, the revised BT is RM29.22 per MMBtu compared with the existing BT of RM26.51 per MMBtu.

For the annual gas consumption of 50,001 to 200,000 MMBtu, the revised BT effective Jan 1, 2018 will be RM30.48 per MMBtu against the existing BT of RM27.66 per MMBtu and for annual gas consumption of 200,001 to 750,000 MMBtu, the revised BT will be RM30.48 per MMBtu compared with the current BT of RM27.66 per MMBtu.

“While the tariff revision has no material impact on the company’s business operations, it is expected to contribute positively towards its financial position for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2018,” Gas Malaysia said.

so conclusion, cooking gas up??

Malaysia, Abu Dhabi to settle dispute

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Abu Dhabi have reached a settlement on a dispute involving billions of dollars in debt obligations of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that is at the centre of an international money-laundering probe.

Senior financial executives familiar with ongoing negotiations told The Straits Times that state-owned investment funds from both countries were expected to sign a settlement agreement as early as Friday (April 21).

A central piece of the proposed settlement calls for Malaysia to repay Abu Dhabi US$1.2 billion (S$1.7 billion) before the end of this year. The amount represents a loan and accumulated interest charges on a bailout financial package 1MDB received from Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company, or Ipic, in July 2015.

The bulk of the payment on the outstanding loan amount will come from the sale of so-called “fund units” from Brazen Sky Ltd, a financial unit owned by 1MDB, to an undisclosed buyer, according to the financial executives.

The settlement agreement also calls for both parties to enter into negotiations to resolve another dispute involving roughly US$3.5 billion in the form of cash advances and payments from 1MDB to IPIC that are now in dispute. Negotiations will commence early next year and must be concluded before December 2020, during which time both parties will stand down from pursuing any legal action, the executives said.

The cash advances were part of Malaysia’s obligations under a US$3.5 billion bond issue that Abu Dhabi helped Kuala Lumpur raise in 2012. Under the proposed settlement, the Malaysian government will honour all obligations to its international bondholders.

Bankers and legal executives familiar with the situation believe the deal could significantly dilute the international legal challenges confronting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s administration over the fallout from the 1MDB saga.

Here is why. The disputed monies in the Malaysia-Abu Dhabi row are central to legal suits brought by the US Department of Justice over the alleged misappropriation of funds from 1MDB. The Department of Justice claims that the funds siphoned from 1MDB went to fund purchases of real estate and other assets by associates of PM Najib.

The settlement agreement between Malaysia and Abu Dhabi would achieve what is known in legal parlance as “no predicate offence”, the financial executives said.

A predicate offence is a crime that is a component of a more serious crime and it is frequently applied in the US to actions involving the provision of funds for money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Proponents of the settlement between Malaysia and Abu Dhabi argue that a successful completion of the deal would weaken the impact of any legal action taken by foreign governments over alleged money laundering at 1MDB because of the lack of evidence.

Malaysia’s Second Finance Minister Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani and 1MDB’s group executive director, Arul Kandasamy, who are part of the high-powered team leading the negotiations to resolve the dispute, did not respond to requests for comment.

“The main aim was to avoid a messy arbitration fight and this (deal) is a product of both parties working through back channels to reach a settlement,” one senior executive noted.

The executive disclosed that that other key players in the negotiations included Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin, who is a senior advisor to Najib, and senior officials from Abu Dhabi’s Executive Affairs Authority, a special government agency that provides strategic advice to the Gulf state’s rulers.

First reported by The Straits Times in April last year, the dispute between the two countries centered on fund transfers of roughly US$3.54 billion that 1MDB said it made to units of IPIC as part of its obligations under a May 2012 bond agreement. But IPIC declared that it never received those monies, triggering a row over interest payments on the bond issue which had helped 1MDB raise funds for the acquisition of power-generation assets.

IPIC declared 1MDB in default later after the Malaysian state investment fund refused to honour an interest instalment of US$50.3 million, a move that exposed the Malaysian government to billions more in claims.

As the dispute moved into private arbitration, the 1MDB scandal grabbed global attention with the US Justice Department filing lawsuits in Los Angeles seeking to seize dozens of properties and luxury assets that it claimed were purchased with funds amounting to over US$3.5 billion. US officials said the funds were illegally siphoned from the Malaysian state fund.

The Justice Department probe, which is ongoing, is moving in tandem with investigations in several other jurisdictions, including Singapore, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.

Najib and 1MDB have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and have pledged to cooperate with any lawful investigations. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

http://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...over-1mdb-debt/

Damn.. so many debt
Lepas BN menang lagi

Confirm GST Naik lagi ni

Najib: Don’t vote those who don’t want Islam

DUNGUN: Prime Minister Najib Razak today reminded the people to not choose an opposition that is willing to be in cahoots with parties which have leaders who do not wish to see the development of Islam and the Malays in the country.

He said the opposition practiced an “ends justify the means” concept simply to unseat the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“The goal must be noble, the method must also be correct. If it’s not done in the right way, God will not accept our worship. Everything must be right, if the method is not right, our worship despite our good intentions will not be accepted by God, and even in politics we have to hold to the principles of Islam.

“If you know the person does not like the development of Islam in our country, why associate with him or her,” he said when launching the Terengganu state-level “Jom Bantu Rakyat” programme and groundbreaking ceremony for the Rumah Idaman Rakyat (RIR) project at Kampung Santong, Paka here, yesterday.

Also present were Higher Education Minister Idris Jusoh, Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman and Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) group chief executive Ahmad Azizi Ali.

The RIR project to be developed by SPNB Idaman Sdn Bhd, involves 229 units of various types of houses and shophouses on 26 acres of land known as Taman Desa Idaman, Kampung Santong.
Najib said Umno on the other hand, always fought for Islam, and had received recognition from other countries.

“If people say Umno’s policies are contrary to Islam, for sure, the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud would not allow his name to be used at the King Salman Centre for Global Peace,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that in addition to fighting for Islam, Umno and BN also strived to help the bumiputera and non-bumiputera through various economic and social agendas, including the development of housing projects.

“However, if the person who comes into power as prime minister later, his intentions are not to help people, especially in rural areas, then do not hope, do not dream, that all this is going to be implemented. Realise, that the truth is we (BN) are the best choice for government,” he said.

Najib also expressed confidence that Terengganu would continue to be led by the Barisan Nasional government based on the current development and the persistence of local leaders in maintaining the welfare of the people.

He added that victory in the Dungun parliamentary constituency was also possible if there was unity among leaders in the region and no longer any “backstabbing” among Umno leaders.

In his speech, Najib advised Dungun parliamentary development officer Din Adam, former Dungun Umno division chief Rosli Mat Hassan and Bukit Besi assemblyman Roslee Daud to maintain unity to sweep the Dungun parliamentary and four state assembly seats in the next general election (GE14).

The four seats are Sura, Bukit Besi, Paka and Rantau Abang.

“If these three people are together, we can win in Dungun. If we want to win big we have to work hard and together. Don’t backstab. Make sure the committee members go down to the polling district centres (PDM) and the PDM go down to the branch chiefs.

“Branch chiefs to the village chiefs. All should be in one team because we need to have a strong government as I have a big vision for Malaysia,” he said.

http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...slam-developed/

Cant wait for pm najib potong GST
Potong Arak
Potong rokok
Potong genting Judi

Oh wait.. semua tu gomen BN yg buatkan.

Potong budget tuk kesihatan dan perlajaran.

The government will not be introducing further steps to curb the movement of the ringgit as was seen last year.

Second Finance Minister Johari Abdul Ghani in an interview with Bloomberg Television yesterday said there is currently no need to impose further steps to reduce movements in the ringgit as the gap between prices quoted offshore and in domestic markets is now "quite stable".

"Our measures have worked," Johari was reported saying in Cebu, Philippines at a gathering of Southeast Asian finance officials.

https://m.malaysiakini.com/news/378340

B4 was stable at 3.50 to 3.80
Now 4.50

So macam paling quite stables???

There are no restrictions for organ donation and transplantation between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, said Federal Territories mufti Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri.

He said this was because human organs were not Islamic or non-Islamic in nature but tools to support human life.

“When an organ of a non-Muslim is transplanted into the body of a Muslim, the organ will become a part of the Muslim person’s body.

“Then, the organ is used for its purpose as ordered by Allah,” he said in his Facebook page yesterday.

Zulkifli said Islam decreed that the body of non-Muslim, which includes its organs and blood, always glorified and praised Allah and obeyed His commands.

On blood donation from a non-Muslim who may have eaten non-halal food such as pork, Zulkifli said it was allowed in Islam because it was only the blood being transfused not the essence of the pork.

He also shared the findings of the National Fatwa Council meeting on April 13 and 14, 1982 on blood donation and transfusion between a non-Muslim and a Muslim.

Zulkifli said it had been ruled that blood donation was ‘harus’ (permissible) and there was no need to separate the blood of a non-Muslim and a Muslim.

- Bernama

https://m.malaysiakini.com/news/372236

But if combined with science, will all those point invalid?

Report ID	318501
Reported on	Today, 09:51 AM
Type	Religious/racial

Not sure why kena report...
