Vista stuck at "Please Wait" screen during startup

Hi,

I'm using Windows Vista Enterprise. Using Lenovo T400/60/61 notebook.

I'm facing problem during startup, Vista will hang at "Please Wait" screen. It will just stuck there for a very long time. Even leave it overnight, next morning, still stuck at "Please Wait".

I've try to use Recovery Option from Vista cd, to repair the OS, but still doesn't work. Even System Restore also does not work. Windows will stuck at "Please Wait" screen.

I know that formatting will eliminate the problem, but only for last resort. Any other suggestion what should I try to fix this issue? Even I swap the harddisk with any other notebook(same model), the result will be same. So it should be something with the harddisk/OS, not the notebook problem.

Appreaciate your help. Thanks.
