Software developer talents are in acute shortage currently. Or rather, good software developers are in acute shortage. Those that can not only code, but also communicate well with stakeholders who do not have technical backgrounds.

Overall I think Singaporeans are quite good, but they are freaking expensive. Malaysian, I have worked with some who are also quite good, but the really good ones are paid in USD liao. Those that are leftover, not really impressive. Some can code fast but cannot talk to non-programmer. Some can talk till cow come home but code slow like shit and tonnes of bug.

So I need to find alternative. Which country's programmer do you think provides the best value for money?

According to previous study, by 2050 world population is estimated to approach 10 billion. Food supplies will be under great stress. We will have a food crisis.

So, God introduced this virus to control human population. If you dumb and don't take precaution, you higher chance to die. If you smart and take vaccine wear mask wear face shield, wash hand no touch face, you less chance to die. In any case, your death will ensure the survivability of the human race in the longer term.

LPSSA Loan

Background:

1) Purchased apartment which is currently construction in progress
2) Construction work is (understandably) being delayed due to MCO last year, the various SOP restriction and the current MCO
3) Meanwhile interest still continue to get charged on drawn down amount.

As a loving and understanding member of the society, I can understand all the above and am not complaining. So I just pay progressive interest to my bank.

However, according to my WhatsApp group chat, there is a group of people who bought the apartment using government loan (LPSSA). According to them, the loan agreement states that during the first 26 months after signing of SPA, borrower do not need to pay anything including progressive interest. However, From the 27th month onwards, borrower will need to pay FULL instalment (i.e., principal + interest).

Under normal circumstances this is usually not an issue as the construction would be nearing completion by then. But in our current situation, the developer has only made a 20% progress claim. This means even if the borrower took a 100% loan, the maximum loan disbursed by LPSSA so far is 20%.

BUT, if the borrowers of LPSSA are still required to repay FULL instalment, it means LPSSA is effectively asking the borrowers to repay a loan that has yet to be disbursed.

1) Is this true?
2) Is it even legal?

Hi all I recently reset my router and did all the setting up.

All a sudden I cannot connect to many website, including most of the speedtest websites.

But if I use my mobile hotspot (Celcom), I am still able to access these websites.

Anyone knows what is the problem?

Replace tiles with broken marble

Hello all.

My old tiles are popping out and I am replacing them with broken marbles.

Contractor 1 said just hack off the tiles and about 1 inch of the cement, then can start render and install marble liao.

Contractor 2 said must hack off the tiles and everything until the concrete level (almost 6 inches), then only can start to render and install marble.

Contractor 1 said don't need to hack so much - waste time and waste sand/cement to render back the 6 inches.

Contractor 2 said the other guy is lazy, don't want to hack and re-build. In the future, the marble will easily crack.

Anyone got any idea?

Ayam boughted a house in March 2020, and supposed to have wedding in October 2020.

March 2020 - MCO started. That time nobody understands the virus, all scared. Healthcare system around the world collapsing. Ok fine, ayam postpone. Land office also closed, house purchase tangguh.

May 2020 - Economy reopened. Conveyancing restarted. Ayam happy start planning for wedding again. Mad rush because initially thought couldn't hold it in October as per original plan and didn't do much between March-May.

October 2020 - CMCO started. Less than a week before my wedding day. Ok ayam understand cases going up too high have to control. But wife cry for 1 week have to console.

November 2020 - House purchase finally finalised. Commenced renovation work, target complete January 2021, just before CNY.

January 2021 - Today. House renovation 90% done, only pending delivery of main door and some painting/touch up work. Estimated to complete within 1 week time. And I told my landlord I am moving out end of this month. Guess what happens now?
