From big MNC to smaller company

Hi all,

This my first post in this section so please be nice to me.

I currently working in a US-based MNC company as a data scientist. The salary and benefits are good but the working hour is killing me.

My working hour is from 2 pm to 10.30 PM, but most of the time, it ended at 12AM to 1AM due to meetings.

Earlier this month, I decided to look for other opportunities and received a couple of calls and went through series of interviews.

And today I got an offer with >30% increment from a smaller company based in UK. It lacks a bit on the benefits but the increment itself can cover them.

The working hour is pretty similar with my current position so nothing really changes beside the salary increment.

So, is it worth taking a risk to jump to a smaller company given the current COVID situation?

If you are at my place, what are the other concern that you have? Please share it over here so that I also can look into that before signing the offer letter

Simulate joystick input in C#

I doing project that using kinect as input to the games.

the reason i post here is i have problem to simulate steering wheel function.
i got some clue about DirectInput that can detect and read joystick input.

what i want to do is to simulate the input of steering wheel and pass it to the application (e.g games..).
an example of the existing games is forza. but the games is develop for xbox.

I'm trying to develop this application so that every games that support steering wheel input can be play like forza.

can anyone help me?

yesterday my gf buy a phone case.

later at home, she realize that the skin has some pattern.

the problem here is she dont know what animal skin.

if this is pig skin, then this item cant be use.

Interview for intership at IBM

Hi.
I need some advice here.

I apply for internship at IBM and already pass the IPAT test.

Yesterday I receive call from IBM and they ask to attend for the interview.

I’m quite nervous since this is my first official interview..

What should I prepare before going to the interview.

Can any sifu share some advice..?

windows 32 bit for Alienware

first of all, sorry if i post in the wrong section.

i using windows 64 bit since dell already install it in my PC.
the problem is i'm learning OpenGL programming.
N i'm using visual studio. when i search on the web, they only give tutorial to install OpenGL library on windows 32 bit.
i have tried to install openGL on my PC but the compiler give errors.
So, i plan to install windows 32 bit on my PC.

I want to ask here, if there any problem if i install Alienware PC with windows 32 bit?
i'm afraid m plan will ruin my PC..

Fan Speed probblem

i hav buy an alienware area 51 from this forum.
all part are in good condition.

the problem is when the pc is in idle, the fan for the radiator run at full speed (+- 4000 RMP!!).
its like having a vacuum cleaner in my room.

i already try speedfan software but it cannot detect the fan.
the alienware software also cannot control the fan speed.

should i buy fan controller hardware?
i donno how the fan controller work. but if it can slow down the speed, i would like to buy it.

Alienware Area 51 Command Center Problem

Last saturday, i buy this PC from one of the member in this forum.
he already format and install the essential driver and software before selling it.

i try to use at his home and it work perfectly.
after taking the the PC home, i setup and turn it on again. it still works.

then i try to run the AlienFX software. suddenly the PC went to sleep mode.
i try to wake it up nut nothing happen. then i pull the power cord, let the power in the system unit drain.
then i try to turn it on but nothing happen. there are no beep sound produced.

the PC warranty is already expired and it cost 600 to extend it.
i already contact dell and they said they cant help unless i send the pc to the service center or extend the warranty.

hav anyone facing the same problem with me?
i hav google about the problem and found that

if user already install the later version of the Command Center, then, when the user format the PC, user cannot install the Command Center from the resource DVD or the Master IO board will be corrupted.

somebody please help me.. if there a solution, i dont need to pay another 600 to extend the warranty. i hav plan to extend it but not this time bcoz no money right now..

i a bit confusing to choose which mobo and proc should i buy..

Processor: Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz 8MB
Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme

or

Processor: Intel Core i7 870 2.93GHz 8MB
Motherboard: Asus Maximus III Extreme

I'm not an extreme overclocker guy but quite a hardcore gamer.
just want to have a nice performance rig.
But I wanna make sure my new rig can be used for a long time.
wanna make it can stand for the next 3-5 years.

should i buy the latest one?
which one should i choose?
or should I hav new combination.
i like these two mobo..

my budget is around RM 5500.
but the lesser the better..
