Government announce full tax and duty exemption for EV cars in 2022.

Does that mean that existing EV cars value would be cut roughly in half (since duty and tax normally made cars 2x more exp)?

Mall Direct Marketing

Wondering if you can just walk around any shopping mall carrying banners, balloons, flyers, marketing material to promote a brand.

This all without informing the shopping mall management.

If we do need to inform, normally what's the rate/charge to set up a stall (like those who promote credit card) at the shopping mall?

PROBLEMS in Loyalty/Rewards programs

Dear awesome Lowyat community,

As I am currently doing a market analysis on the particular area of rewards/loyalty, would like to get some general opinion on this matter. I think in general this market is actually plagued by some very "barriers" that stop us from fully enjoying the benefits of actually participating in a loyalty program. Definitely we have lots of diversity and choices in terms of loyalty programs, as you can find in this thread: List of all the Loyalty Cards in Malaysia.

Some of these barriers that I have seen:

1) Too many physical rewards card in the market (we can't be expected to hold like 5 cards at once, which everyone should have on average, such as 1) Credit card 2) Petrol card, 3) Grocery card, 4) Retail card, 5) FnB card, etc). Actually discourage us from joining all our desired loyalty programs.

2) Too difficult for any meaningful redemption (first issue - its tough to even find out how to redeem this points i.e we have to fill in forms, not sure where to redeem, hard to find out info). Secondly we normally don't keep track of such points (since there's so many and programs don't give us up to date information) leading to expiry and wastage.

3) Unattractive redemption options - it's tough to actually collect any meaningful amount of points at once to exchange the "gifts" that we actually want. Secondly sometimes the options that's provided (such as Bonuslink, or Maybank catalogues, etc) just does not suit our taste, options are limited!

So based on three "issues", I would like to see if anyone has the same views as me and what is everyone's solution to this inconveniences that can benefit us. Reward/Loyalty points are actually one of the areas we can exploit from all these retailers (in net amount, per month you can actually get like RM 100 - 200 in monetary value from reward points). Let's DEMAND more from these programs and earn from this.

Cheeerrss!
