Hi,

I hired a contractor to renovate my house..After he has done all the works and I already gave him the agreed fee (I keep 5K and promise him to give him after I have moved in)....Now, he want to request more money from me....

I hate this kind of people...Always promise and promise, later don't want to admit and say different things....want to request money from those he has agreed to do free for me..

I am very angry and I am very afraid If I don't want to give him the money, what will happen to me and what he will act?

Please, give me some advices...

Unpleasant Experience with Guocera Tiles

Hi,

I have ordered a set of bathroom guocera tiles from Super Ceramic Puchong..

When my contractor doing my bathroom tiling using the tiles, he found out the tiles' surface are not flat and like shown below:

More than 20% of the tiles are like that..Because of the bad quality of the tiles, you will feel the swell of the tiles when you tourch them..

First grade tiles also have defects too? Usual?

Hi,

I would like to know whether first grade floor tiles also have defects? I received few pieces of first grade floor tiles (2' x 2') with a hole near the centre..

The story is like that....Yesterday, my contractor used the tiles to do my counter top..When he did until halfway, he found out that 2-3 pieces of the tiles has a hole near the centre..He thought I bought the second grade floor tiles and didn't inform me about that..So, he just continue doing..

Today morning when I met him, he then informed that problem to me..I am shocked..I thought first grade tiles should be perfect..Why got holes?

So, I would like to know whether first grade floor tiles also have defects?

Anyone please teach me how to choose to use between Shiny Pearl paint and Matt finish paint? Interior uses which type? Any reasons or advantages? Mostly people choose which type? Any trend? If downlight near the wall, which type is more suitable to use? Any specific walls or rooms to be considered when choosing the types of paint to use?

I would like to know what is the height suitable for bathroom counter-top if counter-top type basin(170 mm height) is used..?

27(after tiles) inches counter-top height suitable? after add-up is 34.6 inches reaches the top of the basin....

Aluminium Grille

Hi,

I am looking for some information about aluminium grille...because so far, in the market, I only found Metal, Stainless Steel and Wrought iron types...

Nobody propose me about aluminium grille...is it because aluminium is weak and soft and not suitable for protection? but my designer said nowadays, more people start looking for aluminium grille...

Can I know anybody use aluminium grille for windows and doors? Market price and any recommended factory....

flat board = RM 2.10 per sqf
double step = Rm 13 per sqf
L.box = RM 10

I am looking for feedback from customers that have engaged Wai Teong to do plaster ceiling...

How is his workmanship? the flat board used is thick or soft? etc...

the price is very cheap but afraid quality not good...

Here are my questions:

a) My house has two sets of sliding doors which overlook a little courtyard/garden...So if i grill it up, it kind of spoil the ambiance. But if I don't, security issues...Of course, I do install alarm system but i think without grille, it will really be a temptation for robbers, right?

b) If grille, anyone please suggest a better design?

c) Grills inside or outside?

d) I decided to use 6 panels sliding doors which open from center..each panel around 1.5 feet..Is it nicer than larger panel? or decrease the number of panel with larger size?

Please give me some ideas and solutions....I am quite headache now...

When plastering wall

Hi,

What should I pay extra attention to when plastering walls?

I notice some cracks on those new plastered walls but the contractor said will remove those cracks when painting...tell me don't be worry..

Is it impossible to plaster the wall and no cracks when dried? Must have some cracks on dried plastered wall and will remove them later?

Any way to prevent this? or trust my contractor?

Please advice me..

Price per ft for inverter copper tubing (Conceal)

Hi friends,

I have some questions regarding to the air-cond..Anyone please give me some advices, please...

1)
I have advised by the air-cond contractor to use inverter copper tubing because of nowadays, in market, those power-saving air-cond is using inverter copper tubing..If I use normal type tubing, I can't install those power-saving air-cond..is it true?

2)
Do I need to use inverter copper tubing? Power-saving air-cond is much better? or stick with those normal air-cond?

3)
Quotation I get from this contractor is

a) 2 hp inverter copper tubing (conceal) is RM19 per feet
b) 1.5 hp inverter copper tubing (conceal) is RM17 per feet
c) 1 hp inverter copper tubing (conceal) is RM15 per feet
d) Supply labour RM100 for each air-cond
e) PVC piping (water) is RM3 per feet..(some short distance won't be charged)

My quotation given is reasonable or can i get more cheaper?

I really need your help...
