[WTA] Should change thermal paste?

Hi All,

Just a quick question, I might buy a H100i soon. Should or Shouldn't I change the pre-applied thermal paste on it? I plan to use Artic MX-4 or Tuniq TX-4. Other suggestion of thermal paste are welcomed too. Or the pre-applied thermal paste will suffice?

I know its not necessary to change it but out of curiosity and wanting to try.

Most probably I will be using a dry cloth or take a quick trip to the pharmacy for alcohol swabs to clean it off.

Method of applying new layer of thermal paste, which is a better way?? I seen quite a number. Where some use a small drop of it leaving as it is, use T-method or using a small drop then spreading it across the proc with something flat like ruler or squeegee.

Maybe those who have tried before, please let me know your experience.

Please advise =). Best it is your personal opinion =).

Hi all,

My bro wants to upgrade his Dell XPS420 desktop. The XPS 420 specs should be this. I havent check whats inside yet.

Is it still worth upgrading?? He wants add more RAM which I think now currently is at 4GB, a new GPU (is it possible to support newer GPUs such as the GTX200,400,500 or 600s?) preferably GTX600s since its consume lesser power, an extra HDD and maybe a SSD too if got extra budget. Then upgrade it from Vista to Windows 7.

Need your recommendations, opinions and suggestions =). It will be very helpful and much appreciated.

Hi,

Recently I upgrade my rig from an i5 to an i7. Therefore I have an extra proc and so happen my dad wants to turn a small confined space into a place to put a PC. I need sifus to confirm whether the specs are ok or maybe I can go for something lower or best bang for bucks items =). The usage is for surfing internet and maybe minor business software. No plans for OC-ing. Maybe will add a gpu in future. So Im gonna use built-in Intel HD4000 for now.

Wanna ask, how do I modify a printer?? I mean the ink section where sometimes outside you can see that other's printer has 4 bottle on the outside and tubes connecting to the inside of the printer. How do I do this?
Im using a Canon Pixma MP496. The ink are costing a bomb

Based on my current setup. If I wanna upgrade. Would the following be ok ?? Oh ya, I also have a M4 128GB SSD.

The proc Im considering to use a i5 3550K , mobo is MSI Z77A-G43 and RAM use G-Skill Trident 8GB 2400Mhz. Are these upgrades worth upgrading? The rest I will use back what I have. Maybe will upgrade to a Seasonic X660,760 or 850. But these upgrade will be one step at a time.

Any suggestion are fine with me =)

For the i7 950, Gigabyte X58-UD3R and Corsair 12GB 1600Mhz triple kit, whats the 2nd hand value I can sell for ??

Hi sifus,

I need your help. As the title has mention, I'm going to get a M4 128GB. Then I want to install Windows 7 on it through USB pendrive without using DVD at all.

I want the SSD to be primary and the current HDD to be set as secondary.

I have search the steps on the internet but there are a few types which makes me doubtful and I do not fully understand it.

In addition, I have no experience of ever formatting a desktop before.

Can teach me the proper steps on how to do the setup, the Do's and Don't for SSD?
