Recommended Mass Gain Protein

Hi, I have been taking ON whey protein but the result seems not so significant as I am skinny before this.
However, I managed to increase my weight away from underweight or muscle mass with work out.

I am thinking to give a try on mass gain protein, to increase calories intake.
I have high cholesterol issue (exceeding the upper limit), even though I have been eating clean, routine exercise etc.

Any recommended good mass gain protein with low cholesterol / fat%?
It would be added point if the protein is low in sugar & less artificial flavoring.

Can I courier face mask to USA?

Dear friends,

I am not sure this is a suitable site to ask these questions or not.
I am thinking to send some face mask + DIY cloth face mask cover/holder (where I can insert surgical face mask in between) to my Malaysian friend at U.S
He couldn't get any face mask at there....

1.) Based on current situation, are we allow to send face mask to other countries? Will it be blocked by our Kastam and their Kastam? Any rules to comply?
2.) Any recommended low cost courier/postage service provider?
3.) Are we allow to send stuffs during MCO period? I have no experience in courier before this. Perhaps can give some simplified guidance.

Questions:
1.) Should I swap the Asus ROG Strix GPU back to the i7 built? Any bottleneck between old i7 and new i5?
2.) What type of cooler should I get for new rig? It seems AIO is getting trendy (I also feel want to experience it). Reviews on air cooler, keep seeing big expensive Noctua NH-D15 or Be quiet Dark Rock. I worry will block the tall RAM.

2. a.) Air cooler: Any recommendations? Quick pick like Scythe Mugen 5 rev B, Cooler Master 212 series.
b.) AIO cooler: Any recommendations? is ID-cooling good? budget below RM250

I know it is getting like Air cooler vs AIO cooler. But I am more on cooling performance. Get a optimize choice for cooling vs $$$ vs aesthetic...

144Hz IPS/TN Monitor recommendations

Hi, currently I am a normal IPS monitor user. However, I start to feel the ghosting when play FPS games.
Since I am going to build another desktop, I am planning to shift the existing monitor (maybe graphic card also) to the new setup and upgrade existing rig.
Feel want to give a try on those gaming monitor. Currently have i7-3770k system with GTX 670.
I did some homework and found out that good IPS monitor with high refresh rate (>100Hz) is costly. My budget at the moment ~ RM1k
Below are some shortlisted choices that need your inputs/ user experience. You may suggest other alternatives which are good option too.

Speakers troubleshooting & repair

I am not too sure whether this is the suitable place to post. Hope that I can have some feedback.

I am having a 15 years old twin speakers + 1 subwoofer for my previous 1st desktop back in the days. It is not a well known brand to me. (TAGG)
It is using 3.5mm male to female audio jack for the connection between the PC, speaker and subwoofer. (PC---input--woofer--output--speakers). The woofer can set master volume and bass using knob.
The connection cable is twin wire sleeved both together with white solid plastic.
It is having some issue which I hope I can fix it to prolong its life span. I can simply replace it but it is good for me in terms sentimental value and daily use performance.

Issues:
1. Random Buzzing sound emitting from speakers.
2. Soften / low volume / loss of sound either one or both speakers.

The problems can be temporary overcome by reinserting the connection audio jack or turn off and on the audio system. But it is getting worse.

I guess something wrong with the 3.5mm connection cable or the 3.5mm audio jack male to female connection side.
Any other root causes?

Is it easy to be DIY repaired?
Where can I get those component replacement (Wiring etc)? Durable brand?

Or is there any shop that offer repair works at competitive price?

Anyone?

Recently my company HR require us to sign a letter so called Salary Deduction Letter out of sudden within this week. We were told that it is a requirement by the Kementerian Sumber Manusia.

The content is as per below:

Tokina 11-16mm DXII Back focus

Dear sifu-sifu, I suspect my tokina 11-16mm DXII is having back focus issue at F2.8.
I have tried other lens, no back focus issue. I don't think is DSLR body problem.

Is this lens is having some focusing issue at big aperture by nature?
What can I do (some verification test) to further confirm this issue?

Am I able to send for calibration or repair? Any recommended repair shop?

Neutral Density Filter (ND)

Dear all sifu-sifu here, I have a tokina 11-16mm UWA lens and I want to try ND filters for those long exposure landscape photography.
At first, I am looking for variable ND filter since it can be adjusted according to different density, which sounds more economical since I have a limited budget.

However, as far as i know, variable ND filter is not recommend for UWA lens as you can see its frame/vignetting.
Some people say need to get a bigger variable ND filter so that you wont see vignetting, using step up ring i think?
Or get those square filter with holder would help?

If get a fixed ND filter, is there any level (stops) of ND filter that is "fit-for-all-use" or provide versatility? (common ND used)

BSOD graphic related issue

Dear Sifu-sifu,

Computer: Laptop Dell Studio 1535
Problem: atikmpag.sys or atikmdag.sys error BSOD
Observation: Nothing displayed on laptop screen. (but have backlight)
Sign of failure: Laptop suddenly auto-off. Next day, BSOD and cannot see any display on screen.

I tried to connect my laptop to my desktop monitor through VGA cable. Switch the view to desktop monitor. I am able to view it.
I tried to switch the screen viewing back to my laptop, it successfully to display. Sometimes cannot switch.

Colourful lines, numerous dots (like cacat graphic) can be observed during boot up.
I tried to boot into safe mode, graphic looks normal.
Initially i suspect is screen problem or graphic card driver problem. So, I uninstall the driver.
But, still can see colourful lines during booting. Sometimes screen cannot display too. Need external monitor to view it.

I also disassemble, reapply thermal paste, clean the venting&fan etc. At last, I realized my laptop fan is not working. Abnormally hot.

Now I think I am deep in shit. I think is hardware related issue. Have I fried my graphic chip?

I am not sure my poor analysis is accurate or not. I am also unsure I can ask this question at here or not:

Can anyone suggest me recommended laptop repair shop nearby Klang/Subang/Lowyat?
I want a trustworthy, experienced personnel with integrity to repair my 6 years old laptop. It is important to me...

Problem description: I am a Steam gamer, I notice my ping can went up to 230 ping constantly, restart the modem won't help, checked modem firmware too. Any steps to identify the cause? Any solutions?

GC comparison advise

Hi, I am here again. My friend recently want to change GC due to his problematic leadtek GTX 550 (crash when playing game, he did update driver from time to time. i don't know why he don't want to claim warranty and want upgrade instead).
He ask for my advice but recently I didn't put much concern and read much detail reviews recently. He don't know 650 ti got boost or no boost version and I found out 650 ti got 1gb or 2gb version too.
I did recommend and persuade him the new 700 series (GTX 760) for him as it is better i think.
He mention price is not a concern but I don't know why he go for these older generation GC. I think he don't like to get it more than RM 1k I think?
He is COD, BF, Metro, Dota2, CSGO player.

2.) After select specific model, compare and advice brands (Leadtek, Asus, Msi etc) as different brands will have different version (like gaming version, OC version)

Can recommend AMD GC that on par with these card too as I want to learn more about AMD too!

Extra question for me : the purpose of SLI is for multiple monitor right? I have 1 monitor, can I make SLI? Can SLI GTX 670 with GTX770? (Just curious)

I bought my A4tech X7 XL-760H around year 2009 (That time I am using Win Vista laptop). It is a Anti-Vibrate laser gaming mouse where its main feature is the "Cursor-fixed while lift the mouse". It has on board memory.

Everything is okay for me including its Cursor-fixed function until I want editing its setting on my new PC, so I decided to browser for its latest driver for Windows 7.
However, its cursor no longer fixed when lift up after I have downloaded its latest driver (Oscar Editor) and save my settings into my mouse.

I tried to install the driver using the previous old CD installer. However, the software user interface no longer same with what I have seen last time. But still, its "Cursor-fixed" feature no longer with me.

Any A4tech gaming mouse user has ever experience this? Please help me....I am regret I touch the setting of my mouse.

I am using Dell 23" U2312HM IPS monitor. It just age 1 month.
One problem that I am facing is the monitor unable to display when:

1.) After the windows 7 logo finished loading, the screen normally will blackout a while and enter "welcome" screen right? however, my monitor unable to display at that blackout moment until my desktop being loaded. This sometime happens.

2.) When gaming, I shift between tab. It unable to display too. I need to on and off the monitor power button then only can display. This always happens.

Anything wrong with my monitor? Btw I am using DVI-D, I tried DVI-I also same.

but afterward, I notice my original HDD C: still have the OS. Should I wipe and merge the OS partition so that I can have extra space to be use on HDD?

My brother's hp mini laptop suddenly spoil for no reason. It can't be turn on but can hear the processor and HDD running. Maybe caused by the spoil adapter wire or thunder shock that travel through the modem LAN cable.

He hope it can be fixed so that he can have portable laptop to use around campus. Don't know whether it is worth or not.

I also want to fix my 10 years old Sony CRT monitor where its colour run out and turn into yellowish or sometimes bluish and donate it away to those needy.

Any recommended PC repair shop around Klang or KL?
