Any Mah Sing fansi here?

sspywar — Mon, 22 Jul 2013 14:12:08 +0800

Anyone here is Mah Sing fansi here? I have nothing against mah sing...but i can't help but to notice that mah sing has been very aggressive lately on acquire lands here and there, and launch new projects here and there. Been following it for some months..the feel i got was that mah sing always price their property at future prices, then give out candies such as pre-pre-view early rebate, then pre-view goodies, soft launch, etc..u get the drill.

Can't really say the projects are bang for the buck as they all tend to be on the high price point, but do their products speak for themselves like YTL's?

How much power supply is required for this machine

sspywar — Tue, 26 Oct 2010 14:40:43 +0800

I've managed to come up with a new machine spec below and keep it under 4k:

Intel Core i7-870 (2.93 GHz, 1333MHz, 8MB)
Motherboard with Intel SC1156 P55 Chipset and USB 3.0 compatibility
8GB Dual Channel High Performance DDR3 SDRAM (1600MHz or 1333MHz) 2 x 2*2GB pair
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB
500GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Disk
DVD RW optical drive
LCD Display 20"

Now the question is:

1. How much power does this machine need? I figure it's about 500W, considering i'll be plugging to display and other peripherals and usb devices, and some extra for future

2. What's the difference between branded power supply and the cheaper ones? Coz the difference is quite huge, a branded 500W power supply can cost close to 200+, but cheaper one can go less than 100...is there any advantage choosing branded ones?

3. I also found out for this core i7-870 processor, it's possible to use H55 chipset instead of P55. I know I wont be needing the in built display capabilities of H55, but motherboards based on this is definitely cheaper than P55. So i'm just wondering if there will be any issues if i chose H55 chipset over P55. And are there any advantages for choosing P55 for this processor?

Thanks!
