MGT Facts:
MSI Gaming Tournament (MGT) is a self-organized event by MSI Malaysia, a local representative of Micro-Star Int'l CO., Ltd. MSI, is a world-renowned mainboard and graphics card manufacturer, which also produce its own Notebook. The MGT first started in 2010, known as MSI DotA Tournament 2010. The main theme of MSI Gaming Tourney will always be the same, "Game for Fun" and therefore it will be a tradition that in any of MSI Gaming Events, there won't be any registration fee.

Showmatch:
In the coming MGTD 2011, MSI will be holding a showmatch with their newly appointed Gaming Ambassador, Tan "Shizuma" Lyn Xhin in the 1st kick-off qualifier, FTZ ASiA.net Cyber Cafe, Penang and also the Grand Final. Two renowned local DotA player will be featured in 1 vs 1 showmatch against Shizuma.

DotA Workshop by "Malaysia DotA Hideout":
One of the biggest sub-event offered in MGTD 2011. This DotA Workshop is a cooperation between MSI and "Malaysia DotA Hideout" organization led by Chan "Winter" Litt-Binn and Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung. Both has their own strong point with "Winter" as one of the best drafter while "Mushi" is considered as a carry second to non. this DotA Workshop, themed "If we can't beat the best, we want YOU to do it," will be carried out during the end of each qualifier in the Cyber Cafe itself. Free to everyone, participants will be given tips to improve their game competitively. The topic includes laning, ganking, supporting, farming, drafting, etc.

Registration:
Registration of MSI Gaming Tournament (DotA) 2011 is through the Official Registration Site only. There's not other registration alternative. Each qualifier is open to 16 teams only, therefore first come first serve.

Kuching State Qualifier:
Both State Qualifier winners of Mars Cyberzone and Gizmo Gamers will be provided free 2-way-flight to participate in the MGTD 2011 Grand Final. Thanks to our sponsor, Yes Travel & Holidays Sdn. Bhd.

Auto-Qualified to Grand Final
Reigning champion and 1st runner-up of MSI DotA Tournament 2010 will be invited to the Grand Final directly.
The 11 players invited are Yamateh, Mushi, Xtinct, Net, Ice, Winter, xiao|ing, SilverCross, Redsun, DeejaySharky, Sub.
A team of at least 4 out of the 10 players above will obtain direct qualification to Grand
Final.

Game Rules:
● League base competition. 3 round per match. Team that win 2 out of 3
round get 20 point, Tie 10 point, losing team 0 point. The most point
accumulate team win.
● Version : 1.3 Build 37a.
Game mode : Domination, Search and Destroy and Capture the Flag.
Map : Favela, Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Scrapyard, Sub Base
and Terminal.
● Winner of coin flip, chose Map (out of the 7 maps above) for the 1st round and
game mode (out of the 3 game mode above) and side for 2nd round. Lose
team (coin flip) chose game mode and side for 1st round and map for 2nd
round. Map for 3th round random selection process. No mode or map appear
twice in single match. Team that win 2 round straight will be declare as winner
of the match.
● All General and Game Mode rules remain as default besides Friend Fire:
enabled. Restricted weapon/equipment: M203 attachment and All Launchers
Class besides Stinger. All modifier / plug-in are not allow. All Perks, Killstreaks
and Deathstreaks are open to use. Participants are free to bring over their
own profiles.

Competition methods: 5 vs 5
Game mode: Captain Mode (CM)

Tournament Structure: Single Elimination
Match Winner: a) The team complete destroys the tree or the throne of the opponent's
team.
b) Any team choose to concede/surrender
c) Any unexpected of the game happened, the winner decision will be
made by the head of the marshals of the tournament.
The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose:
a) Sentinel/Scourge side of the map of
b) Draft order (1st /2nd pick)
For the team who came late 15 min in competition days to register their team will be disqualified from the competition. Money will not refund.
Backdoor is ALLOWED.
No item limitation or restriction whatsoever.
Setup and Configuration:
I. Teams will be given 5 minutes to warm up before the match starts
II. No non-standard game settings or third party applications that affect game play may be used
III. Teams being caught using either will be punished at the game marshal's discretion
IV. Replays of each match will be required by every team. In the event of a dispute, the tournament marshal may need to review a particular match replay
V. The result will be finalized if there no disputes 10 minutes after the game has ended VI.Participants of the tournament should be well-aware of the scheduled time slot of the tournament as teams can claim a default win for the match if the opposing team doesn't show up for the match 15 minutes after the scheduled time

Personal Equipment:
I. Players are encouraged to bring their own gaming equipment but will be required to provide the drivers on a thumb drive for installation if needed
II. The organizer will not be held responsible for any fault / damage arising to the installation
III.The organizer will not be responsible to provide full equipment to the participants

Disconnections & Save Game Process:
i. Competing teams are advised to save their games as frequently depending on the necessity as the game progresses
ii. Competing teams are advised to save after first blood or after any major battle in the progress of the game under the agreement of both competing teams
iii. Competing teams must bear all responsibility in saving the game throughout the tournament
iv. The game marshal/ organizer will not be responsible should any participating teams fails to obtain a save file should a PC error or crash occurs
v. In the event of any disconnection or technicality errors for the first 10 minutes of the game.
The match will be restarted with MUST pick the same heroes & proceed to same starting lane with default items as before disconnection occurred. On initial creep contact, players may choose to switch lanes.
vi. In the event of any disconnection after 10 minutes of game play. The match will be reloaded from the saved game file. If there is any technical issues happen in the match, decisions could be varied depending on game time.

10 to 20 mins of gameplay:
1.Continue with the game without the disconnected hero
In the event of no advantage occurs in both teams, the match will be restarted with different hero lineups

20 to 30 minutes of gameplay:
The side with an advantage of 20 kills and above will be given the options of:
1.Taking default win
2.Continue with the game without the disconnected hero

vii. In the event a save file is lost after 20 minutes of game play. The game marshal holds all power pass verdict on who is the winner of the match depending on:
a)Each hero = 1 kill count
b)Level 1 Tower = 2 kill count
c)Level 2 Tower = 3 kill count
d)Level 3 Tower = 4 kill count
e)Level 4 Tower = 5 kill count
f)Aegis = 1 kill count
g)Barracks = 5 kill count
viii. Respective teammates are NOT ALLOWED to use disconnected heroes and teams will not be allowed to transfer its items to other players. The items left by disconnected hero may not be sold.
