Just received word that all kindergartens will be closed from today until 6th June.

"Semua institusi pendidikan swasta (IPS) yang berdaftar dengan KPM iaitu:
(i) Sekolah swasta termasuklah sekolah antarabangsa dan ekspatriat;
(ii) Kategori pusat termasuklah pusat tuisyen, pusat perkembangan, pusat muzik, pusat tarian dan pusat bahasa;
(iii) Semua tadika swasta"

The problem is a lot of parents already sent their kids today, as workplaces are still open and this seems to apply nationwide. I believe kindy's are calling parents to collect their kids after lunch or immediately. It should apply to private kindy's only, as it didn't mention any govt run facilities. Of course that is still a majority?

Another dumb u-turn policy from the govt. Even the updated SOP (dated today) still says it's allowed. As usual, no coordination between the Ministries.

Old tv got spoiled and am now shopping for a mid range tv due to budget concerns

Went around and checked the models on display; so far got quoted the following :

Sony KDL-40W600B - RM 1899.00
Panasonic TH-42AS610K - RM 1799.00

Any opinions on which is the better buy or can go lower to the entry level models? Or preferable to goto some other brands? (eg. LG, Toshiba, Philips). Will be using it primarily for Astro, movies via a media player and live football games. Thanks!

32" LCD Telly

Hi all, would like any opinions/advice on the best 32" LCD model out of these selections:

1.) Toshiba Regza 32AV700E (at RM 1349)
2.) Sony BX300 (at RM 1399)
3.) Samsung 32C450 (at RM 1899 )
4.) Philips 32PFL3605S (at RM 1999 )

It'll be located in the PC room, hence the smaller size needed, usage would be mostly for Astro and movies. The Philips seems to be a newer model, does that explain the higher price? Thanks!

I don't know why i'm typing this....but I guess it just hurts for now, my lovely 7 year old silky terrier has just passed away a few hours ago...I feel so sad, yet relieved that he won't suffer from sickness anymore...

[WTA] Warranty Claim Resolution Time

Just wanted to ask the members here their opinion on this :

I had a video card fan die on me, so requested the seller to do a warranty claim for me. It's now been pending for one month ++ with no information provided besides the seller saying he's busy, spare parts unavailable and incoming still. How long is a reasonable time before one gets fed-up with the slow pace of the warranty claim? The card is around 9 months old, so is still covered within the warranty period. In any case, this is should be a warning that more expensive items are somewhat less secure to buy off forums.
