Hi all,

I have a story to share with you all on my problem with Celebrity Fitness (Kepong).

1st Membership
Due to an accumulated outstanding payment on my first membership (Around RM800++), one of the CF salesperson has come out with an option whereby CF will waive all of my outstanding payments if I re-join them under a new membership. The joining term is a usual whereby 1+1 payment plus the normal monthly fees deducted directly from my credit card.

Due to much persuasion from him and lack of funds to settle the outstanding amount at that time, I’ve agreed on him to get a new membership.

My first membership payment was auto credited into my savings account (Maybank). Also, the CF guy asked my not to put money into my Maybank account or CF will still credit the monthly fees for my 1st membership.

2nd Membership
No issue on the 2nd membership account. Payment all cun. However, I lost my gym card when I misplaced my wallet. I’ve also requested for a replacement.

Last Saturday when I went to the gym, I asked the person at the counter if the replacement card is already ready or not. I’ve provided my mobile number for him to check the status. The search result automatically direct him to my 1st membership since the history is still in their database. The person is also saying that “Macam dah lama tak datang je. Ada rejoin balik tak?”

When I said yes, I gave my 2nd gym membership account number and they confirm that the card is not yet ready.

The Problem
Does anyone know the procedure for me to completely cancel my 1st gym membership? Do I need to settle all of the outstanding amount plus subsequent monthly fees that they might charge even at the time I’m using the gym via my 2nd membership account?

I am afraid that they are still charging me and since I am not making any payment at all for the 1st account (no payment deducted from my Maybank account), maybe CF will send my name to CTOS, or CCRIS or whatever la and declare me bankrupt.

Yes. I know that I am a noob by not requesting any sort of cancellation confirmation on my 1st membership.

I have yet to call CF about this but I’m looking for some advise if any of you have encountered similar situation as mine.
