What is on his mind?

so i committed the biggest mistake by getting myself romantically involved with a colleague.
He did say he has a gf (dating for 3 years) but he told me that they just don't have much to talk about. Although technically here i am the 3rd party, but i was not and did not go and seduce him. He was the one that kept coming onto me and only told me about his gf when i was in too deep with him.

after a few months, he tells me that i shouldn't wait for him because he doens't know what he wants in life. so i thought that was that, but he still kept looking for me during work and after work and so we started our relationship again. after another few months, he tells me we shouldn't go on like this coz I'm causing him stress coz he is leading me on. again, i thought that was that, but he still comes around looking for me, though not as often as it used to be. Then whenever I talk about me almost not wanting to join this current company because of a certain issue, he then told me "If that was to happen, then i wouldn't have known you.." and he has been saying that ever since...

what is going on in his mind???
