Many coffeeshop nowadays are selfish and greedy that they will charge you for not buying drinks. Even some shops dont allow you to order sky water or tea. When few people are sitting on a table , all of them ordered food but only one drink is ordered , they charge a surchage to all people. For example, only one coffee drink is ordered , lets say it costs rm1.50 and the other four people dont want to order, these greedy bastards include a surcharge of rm0.50 to the other four people and the total for the one drink is rm3.50. Some even threaten you for not ordering. These coffeshops are like gangster organisations.

I have seen some foreigners getting bullied by the coffeshops owners for not ordering. He shouted and hurled derogatory words to them for refusing to order drinks. This practice is not used any country around the world. Only in malaysia that we are forced to buy drinks. This is unacceptable and this inappropriate behavior should be punnished and taken actions by authorities.

Is there any legal or government bodies that we can complain to and any actions that we as consumers should do to put these evils practice to end ?

I will tell you the reason why most people speak taishanese (tai tribe, tai surname),hakka and cantonese overseas. They were sold as slaves through guandong ports to America to build the railroads because they were tricked into believing they were sent there to dig for the gold rush of California. The Chinese coolie/kuli emigration began after slavery had been abolished throughout the British possessions. Facing a desperate shortage of manpower, European merchants were looking to replace African slaves with indentured labourers from China and India.

In the 19th century, the age of colonialism was at its height and the great Chinese Diaspora began. Many colonies lacked a large pool of laborers. Meanwhile, in the provinces of Fujian and Guangdong in China, there was a surge in emigration as a result of the poverty and ruin caused by the Taiping rebellion. The Qing Empire was forced by foreign powers to allow its subjects to work overseas under colonial powers.

In the 19th century, Guangdong was also the major port of exit for labourers to Southeast Asia and the West, i.e. United States and Canada. As a result, many overseas Chinese communities have their origins in Guangdong. After the exodus remnants of Han Ming dynasty to Taiwan which eventually became part of japan during the Sino war and all thanks to the weak Qing empire that led to the era of Chinese slavery to the west.

Mumbai (Bombay), India

It's a city that hosts every aspect of humanity. Some of the world's most impoverished women and children live in slums and shantytowns next to the glitziest, richest and most beautiful people in India. Nearly 14 million people live in this city of grit (think Slumdog Millionaire) and glamour (Bollywood is the largest moviemaking industry in the world). No one takes it personally when people push and shove past each other, jostling to get to their end destination. After a Reader's Digest feature named Mumbai the rudest city in the world in 2006, an editorial in The Times of India acquiesced, chastising the city for boorish behaviour, sticking gum on vacant seats and spitting at pedestrians from running buses. But in a city where the streets have no name, where survival is the name of the game every day, it's completely forgivable that civilities fall by the wayside.

Milan, Italy

There's a certain amount of sartorial snobbery in Milan that make most tourists stand out instantly. It's where Italian designers like Versace, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci come to show off their wares, and where you'll find a disturbing number of unnaturally tall, rail-thin models who make the rest of us feel like midget dwarfs in lumberjack shirts. Many tourists may feel one of either two things: a) a condescending once-over that in no uncertain terms makes you feel like the GAP shorts you got on sale are sooo last season, or b) a total, annihilating sense of insignificance. We suggest you go in the comforting knowledge that for the price of one of their fancy schmancy hand bags, you could buy 300 pairs of generic, mainstream shorts. Who's the sucka now?

Moscow, Russia

They're not exactly known for being warm and fuzzy. But if Russians are reserved, aloof and expressionless in public, it's because they lived under the thumb of Stalinist, communist rule for so long. It's only natural that suffering would trickle down through to subsequent generations in the form of stoicism. At the same time, for some Russians that half-baked, Western culture of smiling at complete strangers is the stuff of half-witted, flaky fools. As with every other foreign travel destination, don't expect Western-style hospitality to be at your beck and call.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

One of South America's most beautiful cities is also famously one of the most dangerous. Tourists are particularly vulnerable to predatory pick pockets during the city's annual Carnaval, and at night. Cariocas, residents of Rio, have been described as pushy, but that's also to be expected when living in one of the most densely populated areas of the planet, and especially if you're an impoverished local living in one of the many shanty towns which exist alongside the most posh parts of Rio. The city's crime rate can be intimidating to naive travellers, but nothing a bit of common sense can't allay. Dress like a local with a pair of flip flops and a Bermuda hat. Leave the expensive jewelry at home and don't travel with a lot of cash. After all, what more do you really need than a beach towel and some sunscreen?

Hong Kong

As one of the most densely populated places in the world, squeezing 53,110 persons per square kilometre in its most crowded district, you can understand why competition is fierce. Everyone has to fight for scarce, coveted resources, including a seat on the subway. Same goes for being heard - with seven million residents living in a city that had nowhere else to build but up, voices here tend to rise in a cacophony of sound that becomes white noise. Pedestrians navigate narrow alleyways, where exotic sights and smells will greet you. It can be daunting for travellers, especially Canucks who come from a country as vast and expansive as ours. But a trip to Hong Kong will also show you how a teeming, dynamic metropolis can coexist with green space. About three-quarters of Hong Kong's total area is countryside, 40 per cent of which is designated as country parks.

Seoul, Korea

There's a dichotomy that exists in Korea that foreigners may find confusing. On the one hand, customer service is absolutely stellar. Every morning, the first customers to walk through shopping centres and retail shops are greeted by rows of sales associates who bow to you as you enter. Business cards are handed over with two hands, in a show of respect and deference. On the other hand, drivers here have no mercy, running red lights, plowing down pedestrians at marked stops and screeching through the city with a lead foot. Nor do Koreans have qualms about asking strangers personal questions - a cultural norm that can often be mistaken for being rude and nosey. Subtlety is not a Korean forte, as foreigners may also find themselves being gawked at. Like the cuisine, garlicky and fiery hot, the Korean temperament can come on a bit strong.

Parisians are typecast for being the surliest, rudest and most smug of Europeans. And let's face it, why shouldn't they be? They live in perhaps one of the most beautiful, poetic cities on the planet, so they're entitled to a little bit of attitude. It's when their smug sense of superiority turns malicious - by mocking anything that's not oh-la-la French - that things can get hairy. Here are a few simple tips to minimize merciless, backroom mockery from a condescending Parisian: never order your steak well done -- the French like their meat bloody and moo-ing. And never ask for ketchup. It's, how zey say, very gauche. And please, remember always to use your "inside" voice. Take cues from Parisians who are generally soft-spoken. And where words like "whence" were once used. Londoners operate under a code of civility that's at once impenetrable and deceiving. Brits are notorious for being unreadable, inscrutable business opponents beneath their veneer of Victorian propriety. Some call it "cold." But it's also this air of refinement that makes this bustling city so elegant and sophisticated. You could be told to bugger off and never know it, as it would be muttered through clenched teeth and a forged smile.

It's the city every other Canadian city loves to hate. It's dirty, rude and crime-ridden, decry her most hardened critics. But in the latest StatsCan survey, Toronto actually came out third to last in police-reported crime statistics. Topping the list were prairie towns Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. As for being dirty and rude, we like to call it grit and character. True, Torontonians walk with steady purpose and may mow you down should you dare to amble leisurely down Yonge Street during pedestrian rush hour. But they do, after all, work in the economic engine of the country and have a lot of work to do. A new report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared by the Foreign Ministry on the planned re-opening of talks with Japan over the disputed Kuril Islands during the next fortnight states that Russian diplomats were “stunned” after being told by their Japanese counterparts that upwards of 40 million of their peoples were in “extreme danger” of life threatening radiation poisoning and could very well likely be faced with forced evacuations away from their countries eastern most located cities… including the world’s largest one, Tokyo.

The Kuril Islands are located in Russia’s Sakhalin Oblast region and stretch approximately 1,300 km (810 miles) northeast from Hokkaidō, Japan, to Kamchatka, Russia, separating the Sea of Okhotsk from the North Pacific Ocean. There are 56 islands and many more minor rocks. It consists of Greater Kuril Ridge and Lesser Kuril Ridge, all of which were captured by Soviet Forces in the closing days of World War II from the Japanese.

The “extreme danger” facing tens of millions of the Japanese peoples is the result of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster that was a series of equipment failures, nuclear meltdowns, and releases of radioactive materials at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011.

According to this report, Japanese diplomats have signaled to their Russian counterparts that the returning of the Kuril Islands to Japan is “critical” as they have no other place to resettle so many people that would, in essence, become the largest migration of human beings since the 1930’s when Soviet leader Stalin forced tens of millions to resettle Russia’s far eastern regions.

Important to note, this report continues, are that Japanese diplomats told their Russian counterparts that they were, also, “seriously considering” an offer by China to relocate tens of millions of their citizens to the Chinese mainland to inhabit what are called the “ghost cities,” built for reasons still unknown and described, in part, by London’s Daily Mail News Service in their 18 December 2010 article titled: “The Ghost Towns Of China: Amazing Satellite Images Show Cities Meant To Be Home To Millions Lying Deserted” that says:

“These amazing satellite images show sprawling cities built in remote parts of China that have been left completely abandoned, sometimes years after their construction. Elaborate public buildings and open spaces are completely unused, with the exception of a few government vehicles near communist authority offices. Some estimates put the number of empty homes at as many as 64 million, with up to 20 new cities being built every year in the country’s vast swathes of free land.”

Foreign Ministry experts in this report note that should Japan accept China’s offer, the combined power of these two Asian peoples would make them the largest super-power in human history with an economy larger than that of the United States and European Union combined and able to field a combined military force of over 200 million.

To how dire the situation is in Japan was recently articulated by Japanese diplomat Akio Matsumura who warned that the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant may ultimately turn into an event capable of extinguishing all life on Earth.

According to the Prison Planet News Service:

“Matsumura posted [this] startling entry on his blog following a statement made by Japan’s former ambassador to Switzerland, Mitsuhei Murata, on the situation at Fukushima.

Speaking at a public hearing of the Budgetary Committee of the House of Councilors on 22 March 2012, Murata warned that “if the crippled building of reactor unit 4 – with 1,535 fuel rods in the spent fuel pool 100 feet (30 meters) above the ground – collapses, not only will it cause a shutdown of all six reactors but will also affect the common spent fuel pool containing 6,375 fuel rods, located some 50 meters from reactor 4,” writes Matsumura.

In both cases the radioactive rods are not protected by a containment vessel; dangerously, they are open to the air. This would certainly cause a global catastrophe like we have never before experienced. He stressed that the responsibility of Japan to the rest of the world is immeasurable. Such a catastrophe would affect us all for centuries. Ambassador Murata informed us that the total numbers of the spent fuel rods at the Fukushima Daiichi site excluding the rods in the pressure vessel is 11,421.”

Disturbingly, the desperate situation facing Japan is, also, facing the United States as Russian military observers overflying the US this week as part of the Open Skies Treaty are reporting “unprecedented” amounts of radiation in the Western regions of that country, a finding that was further confirmed by scientists with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute who have confirmed that a wave of highly radioactive waste is headed directly for the US west coast.

Important to note is that this new wave of Fukushima radiation headed towards the US is in addition to earlier radiation events that American scientists are now blaming for radioactive particles from Japan being detected in California kelp.

Though the news of this ongoing global catastrophe is still being heavily censored in the US, the same cannot be said about Japan, and as recently reported by the leading Japanese newspaper The Mainichi Daily News that reports:

“One of the biggest issues that we face is the possibility that the spent nuclear fuel pool of the No. 4 reactor at the stricken Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant will collapse. This is something that experts from both within and outside Japan have pointed out since the massive quake struck. TEPCO, meanwhile, says that the situation is under control. However, not only independent experts, but also sources within the government say that it’s a grave concern.

The storage pool in the No. 4 reactor building has a total of 1,535 fuel rods, or 460 tons of nuclear fuel, in it. The 7-story building itself has suffered great damage, with the storage pool barely intact on the building’s third and fourth floors. The roof has been blown away. If the storage pool breaks and runs dry, the nuclear fuel inside will overheat and explode, causing a massive amount of radioactive substances to spread over a wide area. Both the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and French nuclear energy company Areva have warned about this risk.

A report released in February by the Independent Investigation Commission on the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident stated that the storage pool of the plant’s No. 4 reactor has clearly been shown to be “the weakest link” in the parallel, chain-reaction crises of the nuclear disaster. The worse-case scenario drawn up by the government includes not only the collapse of the No. 4 reactor pool, but the disintegration of spent fuel rods from all the plant’s other reactors. If this were to happen, residents in the Tokyo metropolitan area would be forced to evacuate.”

Even though this crisis in Japan has been described as “a nuclear war without a war” and the US Military is being reported is now stocking up on massive amounts of anti-radiation pills in preparation for nuclear fallout, there remains no evidence at all the ordinary peoples are being warned about this danger in any way whatsoever.

Vietnamese and Cantonese were highly disputed to be related in ancient times because Viet means Yue and Canto also means Yue as well. In Chinese, Yue Nan means Vietnam

Cantonese orginated from massive immigration of han populations all across china, and absorbed the yue while going into guangdong, yet yue concentration is still very low. No cantonese i've spoken too consider themselves Viet.

Cantonese and mandarin and other chinese dialects are a continium of Old Chinese, its like latin spread out across southern europe with french,spanish,italian,romanian branching off, although speakers can't understand each other's language, their languages are very close with latin. Cantonese does not have viet words, any similarites is because cantonese was the closest chinese dialect and influenced vietnamese.
