Samsung Invented an Incredibly Weird Way to Zoom-I

How do you zoom in on your phone? Multitouch is pretty easy! Double tapping is nice too. But how about this? Samsung's new optional zoom in feature in TouchWiz 4.0 (browser only) lets you zoom in by placing both your thumbs on the screen and moving the phone back and forth.
Did I lose you? Okay, watch the video from Android Community:
Basically, if you move the phone (with your two thumbs pressed against the screen) toward you, the browser will zoom in. If you move the phone away from you, the browser will zoom all the way out. It's nice to see in action...until you realize you'll probably never use it. Whenever I pull out my phone, it's typically at the same distance everytime. I don't like it when it's too close or too far, this new experimental zooming feature would make me change my phone position every time. So it's cool in theory! But silly nonsense in real life. - Gizmodo

http://gizmodo.com/#!5786910/samsung-i...n-on-your-phone

Read about the Apple Peel which came out last year – it’s a device that transform your iPod into an iPhone. I REALLY want one, but can’t seem to find any place that ships to here. And also, is it illegal to get one?

DIY: iPod Nano Watch

Not sure how we let this one slip by, but this Chinese DIY (do-it-yourself) genius has designed his own iPod nano watch using a knockoff iPod nano and pure ingenuity. I know this isn’t exactly a unique design, but you gotta give the guy credit. Who ever said the Chinese aren’t original?
It doesn’t look easy to me either…but maybe you’ve got the guts to do it yourself? If you do, please let me know and I’ll post it.
Finally, A Realistic Taser Toy For Children

Children: they like to hurt each other. I remember having rock fights when I was a kid, but that was back in the stone ages (rock joke!). Now kids have electronics, and, FINALLY, a realistic-looking and functional taser toy. That's right, it actually shocks. Some children may never grow hair on their balls! Or keep their lunch money.
•	Ideal joke and monster toy.
•	Get an electric shock by touching the baton when you touch the shock button.
•	You can either shock to get you moving again or give some annoying persons a strong but harmless shock.
•	Reusable and not dangerous if used properly.
•	Great for jokes, fun and play.
•	Adult shock toy, not for children or elders.
•	Built-in flashlight, and it is safe to use if you don't touch the shock button.
Right, it's an "adult shock toy". Please, like I don't already have a car battery and alligator clips in the bedroom. I do is the thing. Plus a backup generator. Just sayin', you ever seen electricity arc between two nipples before? Me neither. But I have rubbed my socks on the carpet and touched my penis to the doorknob. What?! OH LIKE YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED ZEUS BEFORE. - Geekologie

http://www.geekologie.com/2011/03/finally_...c_taser_toy.php

iPad 2 vs. original iPad: what’s changed?

Shockingly enough, Apple found plenty of things to tweak and update on its spectacularly successful iPad. Alright, so the screen resolution didn't improve and we didn't get that ultra-speedy Thunderbolt connector on board, but the iPad 2 is thinner and lighter while somehow becoming more powerful -- a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 SOC lurks within. Check out our full breakdown of the key spec differences in the chart after the break. It's great fun, we promise!

P.S. - While you're poring over these stats, don't forget that Apple's decided to slap a $100 price cut on the original iPads, making them eminently more desirable today than they were yesterday. - Engadget

http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/02/ipad-2-...anged/op-we-go/

BlackBerry PlayBook to support Android apps?

I switched from RIM to Apple, and thinking to switch to Android now, but I have always had a weakness for the good old Blackberry. Apparently RIM is not looking for ways to get Android apps working on their PlayBook, which would be awesome! Could this be a big boost for the PlayBook sales?

BlackBerry Already Running Android Apps?

ShopSavvy, creator of the fantastic barcode reader/shopping assistant app, noticed something, well, peculiar in their logs. It shows that people in Waterloo, Ontario (where RIM is based) using the Android ShopSavvy app on Blackberry phones. The devices tracked are:
• BlackBerry 8300 ran ShopSavvy on January 31, 2011
• BlackBerry 8600 ran ShopSavvy on January 17 and 24, 2011
• BlackBerry 8520 ran ShopSavvy on February 7, 2011
This Android app trail that leads back to RIM actually corroborates a previous report of the BlackBerry PlayBook being able to run Android apps. Or maybe it's nothing, those devices are just variations of the Curve, not a PlayBook. Nevertheless, if true, it's very interesting to see RIM using Android apps to their advantage is a pretty smart move but it's unclear how Google will react (they do have strict Android Market rules).
-Gizmodo
http://gizmodo.com/#!5769588/blackberr...ng-android-apps

Tips for optimal use of li-ion batteries

I read a useful article on Gizmode on li-ion batteries. Thought I’d share it with you. Here are the tips (sounds simple, but I don’t comply with them!) See link for full article.

• Do not let it run out completely all the time. Full discharge puts a lot of strain on the battery
• Do not keep a Li-ion battery fully charged all the time, either. If you don't use your battery it might suffer from capacity loss
• Keep your battery in cooler temperatures. Hot hot heat is not good for it
• If you're gonna store your battery, leave 40%-50% charge in and store it in a cool place (i.e. fridge).
http://gizmodo.com/#!5761317/how-to-ta...-li+ion-battery
