Static Coil LF WHM (Masamune)

Our coil static currently has an open slot for a WHM.

World
Masamune

Raid Time
Usually Tuesday 8pm (GMT+8)

Coil Attempts
Been clearing T1-T5 for 2 months+

Current Members (in case you might know any of them)
PLD: Whiskey Bonibon
PLD or WAR: Fleecee Godiva
SCH: Hazel Mocci
BRD or BLM: Autumn Sky
BRD: Slowpoke Mage
MNK: Shou Venler
BLM or SMN: Naomi Miyuki
Mixture of SG/MY players

Generally we're looking for a WHM, that's aim more towards progression rather than "loot hungry". It means we're more focus on clearing the hardest content (aiming for 2.2's new Turns). For loot rules, we basically goes with need for main class. If main class don't need it, then it's a courtesy of letting people with that 2nd or 3rd alt job to greed for the items. Of course, we would like easy going people, can communicate through voice chat. Besides coil, we also do primalX together just to get the quest done per week. (since most already got everything they wanted from primalX already)

If anyone is interested, please leave a message here.

ilv req: I dont think we care about your ilv since player's skill beats ilv. However, at this stage of the game, I believe many should be near or almost max ilv90 for current content?

Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][

The error code was Unable to complete version check. [30410][30607][20457][409]
In case someone was having the same problem as I have and many other unfortunate players, below is a work around for fixing it.

Error problem:
After you click Login on launcher, may encounter this problem. Usually after a mini-patch.

Solution:
This was mentioned by someone in FFXIV forum, how to fix it when he encounter this problem during beta, but actually still work after official launch.

People mentioned that replacing your boot folder in the FFXIV folder with one from a working copy should fix it. I put up my files that work and some users have mentioned that fixes the version check issue. Worth a try.

Here the boot folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dy6douu7m0ofuot/boot.rar

Hope this help others that face this problem.

Need advice on component upgrades

Hi, I'm hoping the gurus here can help me out on which hardware component I should get for my next rig.

Aim for the new rig
- Usable for the next 5-8 years (What i really mean about this is: I can run max setting now, High settings when new graphic tech in games evolves, and normal settings when rig tech is really old. I know about there's no future-proof depending on how you use your pc for).
- For gaming purposes mainly, able to run high or max settings on current mmos/games
- Can be OCed

Budget
- Haven't really thought about the budget since if it will cost me more, I'll wait a little and save up. However I do think that the rig I'm aiming for should be around the 5k mark or above. I just need some guide to not make a wrong choice that I'll regret.

My PC knowledge stopped at 2008, only upgraded the GPU 2yrs ago and PSU (So there's a really wide gap of new tech which I'm not aware of). Due to working hours, I will be honest and say that I've only read/research some of the newer current techs, and that it's actually more confusing than before. Which brings me here to seek confirmations and advices

So now the questions:
1. CPU
- i5 or i7?
- Ivy Bridge or Haswell?
I've read that Haswell has no noticeably higher performance than IB, and that i5 for gaming is better than i7. So should I go for i5 3570k and not worry that it's not the current newest tech and will serve me well on the 5 years run?

2. Motherboard
- The motherboards available is really confusing for me . What should I be aware of? I only know I should find the one that will support the CPU and OC-able.
- So should I just choose the one that support SATA3 for my SSD(or all new ones support this?), and support the RAM speed that I aim for? Does any particular brand has better reviews?
- If the specs of the board include bluetooth/wifi, does that mean these features is available on board?

3. RAM
- Gaming RAM or Value RAM?
- 16GB RAM overkill?
- Speed: 1333 or 1666+?

4. GPU
- I will be getting the 7 series. However I'm not sure which brand to go for, or the 6 series is still more practical and viable?
- I've been using ATI on all my previous rigs. I was thinking of nvidia for this new rig. Reason simply I find that it's a hassle while OCing with ATI, and heard/read that nvidia is much more friendly while OCing. However, when I read more about nvidia stuff, seems like there's alot of complaints about drivers of the card..... I've never have a problem with ATI on drivers(except in the early early launch of this brand lol). So these complaints make me nervous, like not getting support, literally I saw driver-complaints on every big games... So should I just go for the ATI Radeon HD79XX model?
- Does manufacturers matter? ASUS/Sapphire/Gigabyte
- Should I get a 2-fan GPU or use a water cool system?
- Should I opt for cross-fire/SLi?

5. Cooling system
- I've only watched some youtube on water-cooled system, and frankly, I think I'm going with that considering the OC I will be doing. But I do want to know if I get those cooler with pre-built coolant, is it the same? or I'm totally way off here, and just a normal aftermarket cooler will be sufficient?
- I've seen from youtube that there's "brackets" holding the GPU for water-cooling. Our retail shop sell these things? and thermal paste.. they also sell them?
- To be honest, I'm very noob in this area, always only used the stock fans or add fans in casing. So any further advice is welcomed if I'm way lost in my direction here.

6. PSU
- I honestly don't know how much do I need. My current one is a 550W by Cooler Master(from 2 years ago). Is it sufficient? Do I need a higher/better one considering that I will be OCing my CPU and GPU and high speed RAM?
- If I'm going for dual-GPU (waiting advices on that part until I make a decision), how much would I need?

7. Disk Storage
- I've bought a Corsair Force GS SSD 128GB recently and run my OS with it.
- My secondary HDD is 1T WD green. I've heard of green and black, will probably replace it with a new black one.

8. Casing
I don't mind full tower cases, is there any particular good case that I should have a look?

Phew... Finally! Sorry for the long post. I didn't want to miss out any questions that I need advice on. A side note, I'm planing to get these hardware from Newegg Malaysia, or ask retail to order for me if couldn't find on Newegg.

Thanks in advance for replying to my long-winded-need-help topic. Cheers
