Denso vs Cool Gear vs APM

Hi all,

Just found out my cooling coil needs to be replaced as it is leaking.

Need your opinion on the above 3 brands which was provided by my mechanic.

The price includes all parts, servicing and gas replacement.

Questions :

1) Isn't Cool Gear and Denso technically the same company? If so, are there notable differences in terms of performance, longevity and overall quality?

2) Does anyone have experiences with APM cooling coils?

Myvi Thermostat

I was wondering from other Myvi owners are there benefits/disadvantages of removing the thermostat from your car?

Previously a mechanic recommended to remove it to make the engine run cooler but I noticed the fuel consumption has went up and car becomes slightly more jerky.

Is that common for others or just signs of an ageing car?

Dear LYN-ers,

Looking to upgrade my wifi card for my Legion Y530 from the current Realtek to something else (preferably to Intel).
It has been buggy for some time with wifi drops and unstable speeds. Very common problem when you Google it due to Realtek wifi cards and/or driver is buggy.

My question is :

1) Does anyone know where I can get the correct wifi card for my model locally?
2) Any shop that does this fix/upgrade?

Hi LYNers,

Looking to seek some advice as to whether this is reasonable, over priced or cut throat?

MYVI 2008 1.3

My car's AC was making a lethargic noise and decided to get it checked, little did I know after checking with the mechanic, there was a lot of black residue and he suggested it was time to change the compressor, condenser and cooling coil.

According to him, the condenser sponge was completely disintegrated hence causing overheating and ultimately spoiling the whole AC system.

Due to the fact I do not drive much (less than 900 km a month) and do not drive outstation, he recommended to just change to a new condenser, recon compressor and flush the cooling coil as I also wanted to a more 'budget' option.

The breakdown is as follows :

Gas Refill : RM 65

O Ring Piping : RM 16

Expansion Valve : RM 125

Condenser Sponge : RM 77

Flushing Solvent : RM 60

Recond Compressor : RM 410 (Warranty 3 months or 5k KM) - Currently using Lagi Best model because he said it was better than the 1st Gen

Condenser : RM 267 (1 year warranty) - Also using Lagi Best model

Labor : RM 160

Total = RM 1,180

Opinions and suggestions would be helpful!

Dear all, I am using a 2008 Myvi 1.3, 15xk mileage. Currently the engine is so far okay and quite smooth but the only complain I have is the NVH, especially the vibration and handling. It feels like I am in a roller coaster and when going over any irregularities on the road (especially Federal Highway), it takes a fair amount of effort for me to hold the steering wheel to ensure the car is moving straight.

Is there any way I can help reduce all these problems? I am currently using Ecopia tyres.

I have decided on a few options :

a) Buy new tyres
b) If tyres do not make much of a difference, I might look into replacing the suspension and/or shock absorbers and get original from Perodua

Any idea how much it will cost if I had to choose option B and is it worth the money?

Hi guys, I know this is a little a little far fetched but any ideas how to make a Myvi feel more comfortable to drive especially around potholes and uneven roads?

The car felt quite comfy and stable after I changed my lower arm but that comfort only lasted for 2 weeks.

Currently using 1.3l 2008 model myvi

I just wanted to know if I was overpaying or being cheated

I'm using a 2008 Myvi 1.3 around 14x, 000km mileage.

Just sent it for servicing and my mechanic is using GTX M-TEC 10W30 and he told me the next service (major) is after 5,000 KM or 3 months, whichever comes first. Is that normal to be so little?

My total bill for my recent service was around RM 150 - RM 155
