Brelveenraj Kaur Rajwant Singh has always been a curious admirer of the wonders of space, but little did she know that she would one day represent the country as the National Point of Contact (NPoC) to the United Nations-backed Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC)!

The 25-year-old, who was born in Kuantan, is one of the 13 young volunteers appointed to the council in May, which is in support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications.

SGAC is a global non-governmental, non-profit organisation headquartered in Vienna, Austria, with over 15, 000 members representing more than 150 countries across the globe.

Regarding Notice period

Hi /k experts,

Need some advise.

The story is like this.

I was offered a new job by Company A. Now i want to leave Company B, my notice period is 2 months.
My new Company A said, they are willing to buy me out after one month.

So, i tendered my resignation with one month notice. Another month will be paid by Company A.

But currently Company B are refusing to let me go after one month. The manager is refusing to sign the PFA (Personnel Action Form). So, she said i have to serve the two month notice.

Can advise?

Pre-Story : Car kena langgar by lorry, so ayam car in workshop.

Story
So, no transport to go work. Decided to use lrt for the first time.

First time mau masuk LRT, as usual we have to let ppl go out first mah, but i notice some ppl zerg rush into the lrt just for a "freaking seat", bontot berat sangat ker, no harm in standing for awhile lo

Since some ppl zerg rush, i tak ada tempat duduk. I don't mind though, was standing then noticed an old man tak ada seat as well. Tempat Priority seat taken by a group of aweks and amois. Pookey tul, give seat padahal it's priority seating for old ppl, preggy ladies. Pakai guna semakphone buat bodoh.

Then comes the BO, adoiii, bangun pagi pakai la deodorant ka apa, busuk kot. compassionate la sikit jilake oii.

Overall, some Malaysia tak belajar moral masa sekolah, perangai mcm setan.

WILLIAN is known as one of the fastest and most hard working players in the Premier League.

A few weeks ago Mario Goetze announced that he would be auctioning off the boot which won the World Cup for Germany this summer.
It is, according to German newspaper Bild, “the most famous shoe in the world” - and now it's also the most expensive as an anonymous bidder paid a staggering €2 million - that's £1.6 million - for what is a unique piece of memorabilia.
The Bayern Munich playmaker scored the only goal of the game as Germany triumphed over Argentina in Rio, and the Nike boot which volleyed the ball into the corner of the net has now made a huge contribution to Goetze's nominated charity, Ein Herz fur Kinder (A Heart for Children).
"Two million is such a huge sum, the good thing is that it's for a good cause and not just for a boot," Goetze told Bild.

It's a fabulous gesture by the 22-year-old Bayern Munich star, who decided to let the boot do some more good rather than let keep it in a display case in his home.
“I have never washed the shoe,” Goetze told Bild after initially announcing the auction. “It is still in the same condition as it was in Rio, when I left the stadium with it.
“There is still grass on it. I have never put the boot on after the final. I kept it safe at my house.“
Goetze said he had fielded plenty of offers for the item but resisted all of them in order to help out a charity in need.
“I was often asked, many were interested,” Goetze said. For example, sponsors, other companies and friends.
It's unsurprising, then, that fans have been full of praise for the unselfish young star.
But one wag on social media had a different take on it. "€2m? For that much money I'd want the pair."

TELUK INTAN: How will a car owner react when he sees another vehicle of the same make, bearing the same number plate as his very own? Definitely confront the other on the authencity of the number plates.
According to Hilir Perak police chief ASP Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, a 34-year-old insurance agent received a WhatsApp message from his friends that a car similar to his, a Volkswagen Golf, was spotted in Speedy Road bearing the same number plate AJK 8033.
Mohd Suhaily related that when the insurance agent reached Speedy Road and spotted the car, a nasty argument broke out with the other owner.
“The police rushed to the scene after the insurance agent contacted us. We detained a 47-year-old man who admitted using the car with the same registration number.
“We also detained a 29-year-old man who was the previous owner of the car.
The incident which was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, is being investigated under Section 29 (1) 1 under the Minor Offences Act 1955.

Water supply disruption in 27 areas

Scheduled water supply will be implemented in 27 areas in Petaling on November 26 (Wednesday) from 9am to 9pm.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) in a statement today said the measure was necessary following upgrading of water supply system works at Kolam Talu, Bandar Pinggiran Subang and Subang Bestari.
Areas affected are Jalan Qamari, Jalan Matahari, Jalan Kejora, Jalan Waruna, Jalan Musytari, Jalan Bumi, Jalan Uranus, Jalan U5/33, Jalan Suria, Jalan Dinar, U3; Jalan Tasik Raja Lumu, U4; Jalan Apollo, Jalan Bulan, Jalan Utarid, Taman Nusa Subang and Taman Subang Idaman.
Other areas are Taman Puteri Subang, Bandar Pinggiran Subang, Taman Subang Kristal, Subang Impian, Taman Desa Subang, Jalan Pluto, Subang Suria, Taman Subang Intan, Petaling District government office, Petaling District Shariah Court and Flora apartment.
Consumers are advised to store enough water for the duration.

World's most wanted woman terrorist mati

London, Nov 13 (ANI): Samantha Lewthwaite or the White Widow and the world's most wanted woman terrorist, has reportedly been gunned down in war-torn Ukraine by a Russian marksman.
According to The Mirror, Lewthwaite had joined the Ukraine conflict just two weeks ago and was fighting on the side of a pro-government group, Aidar, as a sniper.
The Russian sniper who killed the British terrorist now has a bounty of 630,000 dollars on his head from Ukrainian special services.
Muslim convert Lewthwaite, who was married to London 7/7 suicide bomber Germaine Lindsay, had been on the run ever since she was linked to a failed plot to blow up hotels and a shopping centre in Mombasa, Kenya, in 2011. Interpol made her world's most wanted woman terrorist after her involvement in a Nairobi Mall attack that killed 67 people last September.
Reports last month had said that she had joined the Islamic State (IS) and was one of its most prominent female fighters

Kerajaan tiada kuasa kawal harga rumah,

Menteri Kesejahteraan Bandar, Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan berkata Putrajaya tidak berkuasa menghalang kenaikan harga rumah kerana Malaysia mengamalkan ekonomi pasaran bebas.

Beliau berkata, kerajaan bagaimanapun mampu bertindak melalui pemberian insentif kepada pembeli bagi mengurangkan kos pembelian harga rumah.

"Ini negara bebas, kerajaan tidak mempunyai kuasa menentukan pasaran harga. Kita boleh membantu mengurangkan harga rumah dengan insentif.

"Isu fenomena kenaikan harga rumah bukan hanya di Malaysia, tetapi di seluruh dunia, tetapi kerajaan kita respon dengan mewujudkan banyak program seperti PR1MA," katanya, merujuk kepada salah satu program pemilikan rumah dilaksanakan kerajaan, Perumahan Rakyat 1 Malaysia.
Ahli Parlimen Kota Belud itu berkata, kajian menunjukkan harga rumah hanya meningkat antara 2% hingga 3% sebaik saja pengenalan Cukai Barangan dan Perkhidmatan (GST) pada April 2015.

"Kalau lebih 3% mereka boleh dikenakan tindakan mengikut Akta Pencatutan," katanya kepada pemberita di Putrajaya hari ini.

Beliau bagaimanapun berkata, sekiranya kenaikan harga rumah melebihi 3% dikenakan pemaju, dan menggunakan alasan GST, mereka boleh dilaporkan kepada Jawatankuasa Pemantauan Harga GST.

"Saya risau harga itu dinaikkan bukan kerana GST tetapi mahu keuntungan lebih. Ikut perkiraan kita, hanya kira-kira 3% yang boleh dinaikkan.

"Kalau lebih itu fenomena di luar GST, kalau harga itu naik mendadak, laporkan kepada Jawatankuasa Pemantauan Harga GST Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan (KPDNKK).

“Kita boleh uruskan daripada segi itu,” katanya.

Rahman berkata, beliau turut memohon kerajaan negeri bekerjasama dengan syarikat milik kerajaan seperti PR1MA bagi membolehkan mereka membangunkan rumah mampu milik di negeri tersebut.

"Hasrat kami untuk memberikan pandangan kepada kerajaan negeri supaya memberikan tapak tanah sesuai kepada Jabatan Perumahan Negara (JPN), Suruhanjaya Perumahan Nasional Berhad (SPNB) dan PR1MA, agar rumah mampu milik ini dapat dibina di kawasan tertentu.

"Kalau kerajaan negeri tidak mempunyai keazaman politik memberikan tanah kepada kami, kami tidak mampu berbuat apa-apa," katanya.

Beliau turut mengakui, cabaran terbesar kementerian itu adalah mendapatkan tanah yang sesuai daripada kerajaan negeri bagi pembinaan projek perumahan mampu milik untuk rakyat.

"Cabaran besar kami adalah untuk mendapatkan tanah kerajaan di negeri-negeri,” katanya.

Malah, beliau turut meminta agar kerajaan negeri tidak melakukan perebutan dengan kerajaan pusat berhubung senarai nama bakal penghuni kediaman mampu milik tersebut.

Ini kerana, ia akan menyukarkan proses pemberian rumah sehingga memakasa sesetengah individu terpaksa menanti bertahun-tahun lamanya sebelum dapat menduduki sesebuah kediaman mampu milik.

"Saya minta negeri tidak banyak perebutan, kadang-kadang projek perumahan yang kita buat ada kerajaan negeri berebut berikan senarai.

"Ada negeri tidak mahu guna senarai kerajaan pusat dan ini menimbulkan masalah pertindihan, ada masalah hingga bertahun-tahun kerana mahu memilih penghuni rumah ini," katanya.

Bekas Menteri Kewangan Tun Daim Zainuddin sebelum ini membidas usaha Putrajaya ke arah menjadi sebuah negara berpendapatan tinggi sehingga mengabaikan kedudukan ekonomi majoriti rakyat.

Beliau mengkritik pentadbiran Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak yang bercita-cita mahu menjadikan Malaysia negara berpendapatan tinggi tetapi dalam masa sama, rakyatnya masih tidak mampu memiliki sebuah rumah sendiri.

"Tidak ada maknanya kerajaan mendabik dada mengatakan kita sedang menuju ke arah negara berpendapatan tinggi jika masih ramai rakyat tidak mampu memiliki sebuah rumah biasa," katanya hari ini.

Lebih membimbangkan Daim adalah hartanah kini sukar untuk dimiliki khususnya mereka yang berumur bawah 40 tahun kerana nilai yang melambung naik akibat spekulasi.

"Hak milik hartanah antara yang membimbangkan di kalangan rakyat Malaysia, khususnya mereka di bawah umur 40 tahun, berdepan kesukaran memiliki aset penting ini.

"Perumahan menjadi kelas aset kewangan, malah ia menjadi alat spekulasi daripada menjadi tempat untuk kita tinggal," katanya.

Daim menegaskan rakyat Malaysia masih tidak mencapai tahap pendapatan yang baik dan ramai yang masih berpendapatan di bawah tahap kemiskinan.

Penyelidikan universiti tempatan bukan pembaziran

Penyelidikan universiti tempatan yang tidak dikomersialkan bukan merupakan satu pembaziran, kata Menteri Pendidikan Kedua Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh (gambar).

Malah, beliau berkata penyelidikan yang tidak dikomersialkan itu dianggap sebagai peningkatan ilmu secara lebih mendalam mengenai bidang kajian yang dilaksanakan sesebuah universiti.

"Baru-baru ini ada surat khabar mengatakan bahawa penyelidikan tak guna. Itu satu kenyataan yang tak berapa kena, kerana ada juga penyelidikan untuk meningkatkan ilmu universiti... pengetahuan meningkatkan taraf pengetahuan universiti.

"Ini kerana penyelidikan di universiti ini bukan ke arah pengkomersialan semata-mata, kerana peningkatan ilmu itu mustahak dan pada masa yang sama bukannya semua kajian boleh dikomersialkan," katanya di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.
Beliau berkata, sebagai langkah peneraju, kerajaan dalam pembentangan Bajet 2015 baru-baru ini, memperuntukkan RM50 juta untuk usaha penyelidikan di universiti melalui rangkaian penyelidikan swasta-awam.

"Melalui inisiatif ini, syarikat-syarikat berpeluang berkongsi cabaran dan masalah teknikal mereka dengan penyelidik universiti dan institut penyelidikan.

“Para penyelidik pula akan menilai masalah dan mendapatkan penyelesaian kepada syarikat.

"Program ini merupakan contoh cemerlang mengenai perkongsian strategik dan inovatif yang akan menggalakkan kerjasama di kalangan ahli akademik, industri dan kerajaan dengan memanfaatkan potensi dan kekuatan masing-masing," katanya.
