Cities in Motion: Closed Beta Now Available!

Cities in Motion is a public transportation simulation in the flavor of Transport Tycoon and other such games. It'd let players work through 100 years of transportation histories, up to 30 vehicles, and watch the tiny virtual citizens that run amok in the city go through their daily lives. The game looks extremely pretty for the genre and coupled with the fact that it looks like economic trends and contractor deals will deeply affect your world, it looks like one of those games that shouldn't be missed if you're fans of the genre.

What's also great is the fact that they've announced closed beta sign-ups for the public.

You can check it out here: http://beta.paradoxplaza.com/

HeadUp Games Is Having a heck of a sale!

Our friends from across the water are celebrating the launch of their flagship online store with a special promotion. If you enter the code 'piracysucks', you'll be able to purchase 4 of their games for only 21 ringgit. No, we're not getting any money out of this. It's a cool offer from a pretty nifty indie developer. For those bored and looking for something to kill the time, you might want to consider picking up stuff here:

http://www.headupgames.com/conpresso/_rubr...EN+News&nr=1147

Vindictus: Do We Want It Here?

As a lot of people know, Vindictus launched its early access open beta sometime ago but failed to mention early on that the rest of the world would be banned from their servers. It would only service North America. There have been many speculations, in regards to whether it's because of the game's P2P nature or because they couldn't get the licensing to service this side of the world.

While Europe is promised the ability to play sometime before the end of the year, it looks like South-East Asia won't be getting anything beyond Mabinogi Heroes. My question is, how many people were actually looking forward to the game and how many would settle for the Korean approximate?

We've been talking to a few companies, including Nexon USA PR Department, and we're wondering if we should nudge them for further information about the chances of them getting the game licensed down here.

What do you think?
TK-Nation: We Play Games!

Hey there!

I'm here to represent TK-Nation on lowyat.com. We're a somewhat unconventional gaming blog with a taste for original games that won't cost an arm and a leg, unusual video game-related memorabilia and getting the news to our readers faster than even joystiq and gamespot can muster. (Feel free to keep tabs on us and tell us how we're doing against our competition!) Although we've only just begun operations last August, we're active members on n4g and gamegrep.com.

Nonetheless, due to the chaos associated with the recent Tokyo Game Show and also the giveaways we've been hosting (Hello, Nexon! Thank you for the keys!), we haven't had the chance to touch base with our target audience. You guys. Yes, you guys. Not the people in the West, not the guys in Japan. We're definitely not interested in the penguins in Antartica either. As we're, in fact, based in Malaysia itself - we want to get to know all of you as a whole!

Tell us what you'd like to see featured, if you've any gorgeous cosplaying girls (or kick-ass counterstrike player. Next month's feature will be one of Malaysia's best!) that you want us to show to the world, games you wouldn't mind seeing closed betas too, tips and tricks and everything else in between. As we're only a four-man (three man and a woman, to be exact) operation, we're also always on the look out for new writers as well!

And with that said, I'd like to say hello again and I do so hope you'll stay tuned. Mind your head, we're not completely out of our beta stages yet so that might still be falling debris at the site.

Just to ensure there's no lingering confusion, the site can be located at : http://tk-nation.com

P.S: We're also hosting a contest within the next few weeks where we'll be giving away free copies of one of the best RPGs of the year. Which one? We're not going to say just yet. But it'd be good and it'd be free and it'd be yours if you keep watching.

Signing out,
Cassandra

[addedon]October 14, 2010, 11:09 pm[/addedon]Well, let's try a different way of getting news about our articles out.

Recent Highlights

Last year, a game design student decided to see how human the characters in Sims 3 could be and found surprising results.

Alice And Kev: Two Sims You Wish You Could Hug

Chump Change features Heroes Mages, a game that can only be described as a mixture of Magic the Gathering, strategy and a little bit of RPG.
Chump Change: Hero Mages - Because Women Aren't /REAL/ Mages

TK-Nation previews Dungeons. Blatant attempt at capitalizing on an old franchise or a gem all onto its own? You decide.
TK-Nation Takes a First Look at Dungeons

First Duke Nukem Forever, now Duke Nukem: Next-Gen.
