File explorer problem?

Hello, im currently using windows 8.1. My laptop is 1 month+ old. I recently discovered that all thumbnails of my laptop werent showing on files/folders alike. This applies not only to picture/video files, but to thumbnails of some applications as well in file explorer. I also noticed that if I opened my file explorer, double click into C or D drive then click backspace to go back to 'My Computer'/'This Pc', it gives me a 'this folder is empty' error and it takes forever to load. I believe this whole thing is a file explorer problem. Your help is much appreciated.

laptop battery

I've always used my laptop without the battery inserted as i use the laptop at home only. I had left my laptop battery untouched for at least 6-12 months and now that i've inserted it in, it stays as (0% available, plugged in & charging) for an hour. Is there something wrong with the battery? Does leaving it unused made it spoil? I had my motherboard and graphic card replaced few months ago, just a note if it may be useful. Model is msi gx660r. Help please, thanks

what laptop do you guys recommend with the following specs:

i3 will do, 4gb ram and battery power at least 6 hours. mostly used for movies while travelling, surfing the net and working, no games. budget around 2k?

Thermal paste

I own a msi gx660r. When i first bought the laptop, i applied thermal paste which cost 75usd. Its been two years. Should i reapply it or get a good cOoler? Thermal paste very pricey. What are the differences?

laptop temperature

hi, i am currently using a msi gx660r which is 16 months old. i was gaming an hour ago only to realise that the fan was extremely hot. i used a program called speedfan and it said my laptop temperature was 80degrees celcius. 10 minutes later my laptop went blue screen and it took me some time to start it back. is this because i've never been using a cooler or because i switch on the fan button all the time? my laptop temperature is currently 62-67 with only google chrome on, just a few months ago it has always been from 49-53, and 60+ while gaming.

btw the size of my desktop icons, desktop size, browser etc has all been changed since i restarted my laptop. how can i restore back my old settings?

unifi disconnect

i just got unifi few days ago, monday. since last night, i've been experiencing many disconnecting problems with the modem. few minutes after turning the modem back on, it disconnects again. i am currently using my old wireless to connect. do i need to call tm to fix?

windows image backup

my d drive is creating backups and its taking up 80gb space.. it's called system image. i've googled and googled but i cant seem to delete it. any of you know how to remove it?

what's the BEST notebook i can get for rm4.5k?
i will be listening to music with it, watching movie and some gaming (HoN, cod6, dead space too if possible :S)
also, i will definitely overclock too.

i've made some researches after my first thread on lowyat weeks ago.
the n53jq really got my attention. any other recommendations?
