PLUS highway is dangerous!

Notice this a few time when using PLUS highway.

Why they always do the rolling road block so often?

The rolling road block is usually deployed to help slow down the traffic to facilitate lane closure.

And why TF close highway during day time? Can't they do it during night time when there is less traffic.

Not only this inconvenienced the highway user, who btw paid tolls to use it, now it is proven to cause accident.

Video below. You can see the rolling road block (4 lorries) at 0:18.

Chili sauce was much better than Kepci.

Crispiness : Very cripsy. Even though not hot, still crispy.

Temperature : Was kinda room temp. That's the only downside.

Size : Big piece. Much bigger than KFC ultra mini size jiken.

Price : 2 piece for RM9. Ok pricing.

Availability : Hard to find. Didn't see these anywhere.

Question: Why does Malay dude likes to pose in sunglasses when taking photo? Not just during casual outing photos, even on their own wedding they took photos wearing sunglasses (even indoor!) with their wedding attire which looks so out of place.

Recently saw someone post a pic with their friends going to watch Mat Kilau, they wear tanjak and sunglasses outside of the cinema!!

Gambar ehsan

McD Sheet

I notice McD is getting worse nowadays. Or is it just me?

1. McD prices are on the way up, and they increases quite fast for the past year or so. Can't blame this on inflation and shipping/shortage right?

2. Inconsistent service. I noticed many times they suddenly change to "cash only" for their drive through. Giving reasons like card reader faulty or system fault. Really? If you can have card services in front counter why you can't have it for drive through? Something fishy. Even most shop have card reader from few provider just in case.

3. Slow service. You can see from their queue system, the workers just click off your queue numbers. I am guess this is so they meet the SLA from the system, but in reality, you are left waiting very long for your orders. So in HQ, they may see the report and everything is fine, but customer wait and wait.

4. Their new ordering system really slow things now. The self order kiosk is very few, and sometimes you met with someone who is slow or make error, they have to redo their order again and you are left waiting helplessly. The old counter system, at least you have a fast worker to key in the order.

5. No meaningful varieties. All you have to rehash of variances of sauces. This sauce that sauces, with no real difference. Come on, bring it something new. In SG and other countries you can see many new seasonal item that is really different. Just look at McD Taiwan and wonder at their long list of food item.

6. Seriously limited Happy Meals toys. I guess this could be down the worldwide shipping/ shortage problem right??? Always out of the toys within 2-3 days of launch.

7. Nugget sauce. Seriously where is the sweet and sour nugget sauce? Also, how come the sauces are now changed to restaurant filled plastic tub instead of the usual prepacked sauce. Worldwide shipping/ shortage problem again?

Ok... end rant

Dlink Dir-3060

Anyone uses Dlink DIR-3060 router?

It is supposed to be the fastest router, but somehow it felt weirdly buggy to me.

I am using DLink DIR-3060 router with UNIFI 100Mbps line, with about 7 devices connected.

Here's the problem I am facing

- My gaming connection always dropped mid-session (wifi)
- Occasionally Netflix will drop to lower quality (Netflix is connected via LAN cable)
- Random speed test will show 104Mbps, so don't think it's UNIFI issues here
- Occasionally wifi will drop and I need to reconnect (across all devices)

Also, I just found out the Wifi has no WEP/WEP2 security settings. Only WPA

Any feedback?

RCCB for Water Heater

Hi all

Would like to ask, does anyone install individual RCCB outside the bathroom on each of their water heater?

There is a central RCCB at the DB box in the living room, but I've read somewhere for water heater it's best to install RCCB nearest to it possible. Was thinking of installing individual RCCB and ELCB as well, but have read that if you have RCCB you don't need ELCB, and some recommend MCB + RCCB.

Already install MCB for each of the AC outlets and the oven.

Your advice is highly appreciated.
2-way vs 3-way coaxial speakers

Hi.. I am looking for budget speaker upgrade..

So currently I am looking around and trying to decide between this two type.

My car have 6 speaker location, 4 6.5inch and 2 tweeter.

I decide to reuse the tweeter and most shop I ask they can't fit tweeter into the ori space (or they lack the skill).

On the 4 6.5inch full range speaker, I am deciding between 2 way or 3 way.

Any opinion on 2 way and 3 way coaxial speakers?

Some shop told me that 3 way will sound very harsh, while some say 3 way will bring out more music than 2 way.

Searching on the internet shows all sort of opinion about this.

Do you flush after use?

Just want to share my engine flush procedure.

I normally do flush every 50k km. Meaning every 5th engine oil change.

No I don't use engine flush. I use the same type of engine oil that I normally use to flush.

Step 1
Drain old engine oil and oil filter.

Step 2
Refill with new engine oil and new oil filter.

Step 3
Drive car for few hours, with some revs here and there. Normally I change the oil in the morning so I can do some errands and do Step 4 in the afternoon. Normally this will take about 50km of drive.

Step 4
Drain the newly changed oil and oil filter. You will be surprised that this oil is already quite dirty.

Step 5
Refill with new engine oil and replace new oil filter. Engine flush complete!

It only cost another set of engine oil and oil filter. An additional expenses about RM140 (RM110 engine oil +RM30 oil filter)

But the results is a smooth revving engine. Worth it!

Fuel economy and RON

Recently my car got a weird problem.

I notice the fuel economy getting worse from 5L/100km to about 8-10L/100km. It has been going on for about 3-4 months, but due to busy schedule I keep ignoring it.

So 2 weeks ago, I pump in RON97 and to my suprise the FC went down, and by my 2nd tank full of RON97, it is now at about 6.5L/100km. Same driving pattern, same place.

So what could be the cause of this problem?

Here's some info.

- Notice some extra engine vibration when this problem starts, even now still have. Suspect is worn engine mounting, as car is now 180,000km.
- Sometimes engine like almost want to die when idling, rpm drops to shocking low but bounce back.

- Already service, change engine oil, change ATF, change air filter.

Any idea what happen?

Someone suggested could be spark plugs faulty. Is this true?

MyTown not for human go!

Yesterday decided to go to MyTown to have a look, and what a big regret it is.

- A lot of escalator to/from parking spoiled / stopped. Everywhere you can see people climbing the escalator.

- Too little lift, causing all the lift to be jam packed. Kesianlah parents who use stroller.

- Lift got weird metal scrubbing noise. Feels unsafe.

- Toilet dirty and floor is wet.

- Hot and humid, especially at the UG floor.

- I think the mall got acoustic problem, cause there is noisy background echo everywhere.

- You can see the construction cleanup is not complete, with some place got loose dried cement on the floor.

- There is not enough floor indicator at the pillars. The floor indicator (i.e. 6th Floor) is only affixed on some pillar and not all. Even the door at each parking escalator didn't identified which floor it is. This makes first timer going there have to look around to find out which floor he is in.

- Worst parking ever! Took me 1 hour plus from 6th floor parking to ground floor. There is a lot of bottle neck on the way out of the parking, some requires you to drive like a snake, and along the exit, cars exiting keep joining the already jam packed queue. Then when you reach the spiral exit, cars from others floor also join together creating a stupidly long bottleneck. And the guards there have ZERO idea on traffic management, just keep waving their hand and blowing whistle.

- Car park exits to unfinished road. I am literally driving on uneven gravel when I exited the car park. I am not lost, and this is where the guards directed me to, as well as hundreds of other cars!

- Even from outside going to the car park, you have to figure where, because of insufficient sign boards. Then you realise the entrance to the car park is located way back at the mall.

VERDICT ? Not going there again!

EDIT : With FB comments from their page.

An open letter from Tengku

Sharing this inspiring advice. Great advice and such humility, to work herself from ground up.

AN OPEN LETTER FROM TENGKU ZATASHAH

To all the young women,

If you know me well enough then you’ll know, I am not one to back down from a challenge and if I have a goal or a dream (of which I am sure each and everyone of you has), I will work hard to make it happen, despite those around me who may be negative. The biggest criticism would be when I decided to move to Paris, leaving a prestigious job opportunity to become a student again in France. Everyone thought I was mad. Study a Master’s degree in Paris? Live a student life in a small studio?

“You’ll never get a job in France” they told me.

“You’re a foreigner, and France has the highest unemployment rate so what chance do you have?” they said.

If you know me well enough then you’ll understand living in Paris was my dream, and I wasn’t going to give it up simply because the odds were stacked against me. It just meant that I had to work twice as hard.

So when I had the opportunity to apply for an internship whilst I was still studying for my Master’s degree, how could I say no? For me, it was to gain crucial work experience. That day as I walked along the leafy boulevard towards my future, I ignored the negative voices of earlier. What did I have to lose? At worst a rejection, at best an internship.

As I entered the enormous office building of one of the world’s top cosmetics companies, L’Oreal headquarters, to say if I had doubt and anxiety would be an understatement. So if you want your dream to come true, be prepared to live outside your comfort zone. My interview happened to be with an Englishman who was head of human resources. I thought to myself at that split second, I could speak happily in English, but how would he know if my level of French would be good enough at this leading, multinational France CAC40 company? So I made the decision: introduce myself in French. We started the interview in French before switching to English and he noticed on my CV that I spoke Spanish fluently too. Yes, to be fluent in multiple languages is a big plus for employers! After two further interviews in the weeks to come, I finally had the good news: L’Oreal wanted to recruit me!

“But Zatashah, (I never shared my family background so they had no idea of my royal connection, I was simply Zatashah Idris from Malaysia) it’s not for three months, our internship programme is at least one year full time”.

Gulp. One year?

Whilst pursuing my Master’s degree full time as well?Well the concerned voices came out again, this time from some of my professors, “Are you sure you aren’t pushing yourself too much? How are you going to balance studying with a full-time job?”

My confident voice replied as it had before “Don’t worry, I will manage. I will make it work.”

And work I did.

Working at the L’Oreal headquarters from 8.30am until 6pm in Clichy, northern suburbs of Paris then rushing back by metro to the south of Paris 14ème arrondissement for my 7pm - 9pm Master’s classes.

That was my daily grind. You need to work hard to make your dreams come true.

A year later I was offered a full-time contract at L’Oreal and I graduated with Magna Cum Laude for my Master’s degree in International Relations & Diplomacy. It wasn’t easy believe me, and there were moments I thought to myself, this is madness – but the one thought that kept me going: ‘this is your dream Zatashah, you want to live and work in this city, you need to make it happen, above and beyond expectations.’

And so you will encounter this many times in your life – from the naysayers and the pessimistic voices, to unbelievable challenges and difficult obstacles – but when you do achieve that dream despite all of that, there is nothing sweeter or more satisfying.

Don’t allow your own negativity stop you in the way of striving for excellence.

There will be those who talk of “breaking glass ceilings”, of women’s empowerment, of women’s rights, of how society needs to help the “fairer sex” – but for me, what it boils down to is simply: what are you going to do about your own future? Are you resilient and daring enough to listen to your inner voice and pursue your dreams? Stop looking at society to make those changes as that may be another lifetime, and maybe it will be your turn to write an open letter to another generation of young women.

But for now, my advice is make your life count, work hard to achieve your goals, set the challenges, live beyond your comfort zone, and act on your aspirations – don’t simply let life pass you by where you’ll end up regretting and wishing that you had followed your dreams.

My advice for budding corporate women: we need to learn how to network and gain visibility in the workforce just like men, because this is what will get you noticed for the next opportunity. We have to learn to hold firm and be taken seriously, yet not lose our femininity. If I had known this during my time in the course of my career, things would have been different, of that I have no doubt. It is not enough to stick your head down and work hard hoping you’ll be noticed for your work performance, you also need to be confident and visible.

Last but not least one thing I live by is you have to walk the talk. In these days of social media it’s too easy for people to just talk or complain or lament about matters. But instead of just “talk the talk” you need to “walk the walk” – meaning do something about it. Actions speak louder than words so make that change, and be that change.

When I commit to charities or community activities, I am 100 percent hands-on and I get personally involved, whether it’s #zerofoodwastage and feeding the homeless with Kechara Soup Kitchen; granting wishes for our Make-A- Wish Malaysia children with life-threatening illnesses or active in eco friendly actions such as #saynotoplastic by bringing my tiffin carriers. When I say something, I mean it and I will act on it. You will also be remembered for your actions and not only by your words.

So for everything that I have achieved so far in life, I am truly blessed, which is why I actively give back to the community where and when I can. I hope one day, I’ll be able to read your inspiring stories for as women, we must continue to push for excellence. Only you can make that transformation for women’s empowerment. Dare to be that trailblazer. Women leaders have never said their journey was easy. So dream big, be daring, keep learning, pursue your goals with tenacity, and last but not least, rely on yourself to be a strong, independent, self-sufficient woman.

I would say for women that would be the ultimate road to success.

All the best to you, and I hope these words will inspire.

Why is the Sarawak Islamic department filtering non-Muslim teachers?

KUCHING, March 2 — Sarawak DAP urged the chief minister today to explain the rationale for the state Islamic department vetting non-Muslim applicants who want to be school teachers in the state.

“It simply does not make any sense for the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department to filter and approve applications from non-Muslims who want to be teachers,” Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, who is also Sarawak Opposition Leader, told reporters.

Chong cited the case of a female applicant, Wong Wang Yuen, whose application to be a mathematics teacher was rejected after the Islamic department vetted her application a month ago.

She holds a master's degree in mathematics education from Sultan Idris Education University, graduating in 2013.

“Why must the department be involved in filtering her application when she is not a Muslim and she is not going to teach Islamic Studies, but mathematics?” the Bandar Kuching MP asked.

Chong, who is also the state assemblyman for Kota Sentosa, said all the talks by the state government leaders on education autonomy were just to make Sarawakians happy.

“Here, we have a real life example where a fellow Sarawakian who wants to be a teacher is being rejected by the federal government,” he said, adding that there could be many more cases of applications being rejected after being filtered by the Islamic religious department.

Chong said Wong, 31, had applied to be a mathematics teacher, upon learning from the state Education Department that Sarawak had a shortage of 600 teachers for critical subjects, including 64 vacancies for mathematics teachers.

He said the application was made through the government's e-recruitment system.

“To her dismay, her application was rejected when she checked her personal profile in the system. The ground of rejection was most absurd and it was by Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak and the reason given was that the application did not meet the criteria after being filtered,” he said.

He added she had applied to be a teacher since 2010 through the e-recruitment system, soon after graduating from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (Unitar) with a bachelor's degree in education.

He said her numerous applications were rejected because the federal government no longer recognised degrees from Unitar.

Chong said he has also written a letter to state education director Rakayah Madon for an explanation on the matter.

SOS

Gambar hiasan
