Looking for an upgrade

Hello, my desktop is around 10-12 years if i remember correctly, at the very minimum it's 10 years. It used to be a high-end spec desktop when I built it then, x2 sli 970, 16 gb ram and all others.

But as of last few years until now, I've began to change a few parts due to wear and tear, but didn't really bother to upgrade as I don't want to spend much on upgrading, so now i'm using 8 gb ram only, another ram is gone, 1 graphic card, as the other one i forgot is what issue, but it's still in it together, and a 200+ gb SSD, which is really not enough. On a daily basis, I web browse, youtube, photoshop editing, play maplestory, that's about it.

So my question is, for a 10 year old desktop setup, what should I be upgrading as priority and is the cheapest method to fit my minimum requirements ?

Hello, due to unstable internet recently, I've been a unifi user since 20 years or more, I may plan to terminate but I also heard for Telekom, if they know u plan to terminate their SOP is to talk u out of it by giving u freebies like TV or some other stuff, is this true ?

Hello, just here to seek some advice and general opinion on how most people ( though it's tailored to each couple accordingly ) handle such situations.

I have been together with my gf for almost close to 2 years now. So in a relationship, there always must be a balance, one person cannot be doing everything, both parties are expected to contribute in every angle, so I want to find the most balance method for what I'm about to bring up.

My girlfriend is working in Singapore, I met her through online and after a period of chatting, we met and immediately got along well, we got together after awhile, and since we got together, she would travel from Singapore to JB ( where I'm from ) for us to spend time together, most time once a week or once every two weeks if she's going back to KL, that was the arrangement and how we would meet and spend time together before she decided to move to JB.

So last year she mentioned that she have this plan to move into JB, find a place to rent, then travel to work in Singapore by carpool, in between there were a lot of considerations but I'll just skip that because my concern in this post today is not about those, so fast forward she moved in to JB, and quite naturally I moved in to the place that she's renting as well, she rented the whole place, it's a small apartment, so it's just nice for the two of us. Ever since then, she pays the rental, I pay the utilities and the daily necessities and whatever else needed. I offered to share the rental with her but she say it's fine, I just have to finance the other stuff, everything has been good since then, and it's still all good now.

Above is just some backstory, so here comes the main show, she bought a landed house few months ago, the house should be ready by end of this year, as expected, I'll be moving in with her into her new house when the house is done. My question is, since I would be living together with her, in her house, and legally it's hers, should I offer to share some amount on the mortgage ? Or it's better to offer to pay everything else like utilities etc, which is what I'm doing now ? I also offered to come up some money for her house renovations, including furniture and what not.

Of course, I'll be having a sit-down with her to discuss the financials responsibilities before we even move in to her new house, but before I do that, just want to post it here to ask for opinions and see how you guys handle such situations ?

P/S - For those wondering, I do have a family house in JB and I do go back sometimes, but ever since she moved into JB, it very naturally became that I live with her, because she also asks if I would be staying with her if she does move into JB, which I agreed, and that has been the arrangement since the beginning.

Hello all, just got my first ever decent speakers, before this I was just using normal acer monitor built-in speakers or pasar malam speaker.

I got an issue here, the setup was a bit complicated for me, currently I finally manage to have sound coming out from my right speaker after I change the black cable port to the bottom OUTPUT port on my pc, but the left speaker got no sound, the transparent wire is connected by silver on black clamp and copper / golden on red clamp on the right speaker, the same for left speakers, any idea ?

Hello, I plan to get my first and last MacBook, plan to use it long term, long term as in 10-20 years down the road.

I mainly going to use it for admin work / YouTube / Netflix / photoshop lightroom etc, and plenty of browser multitasking on and off, I also prefer bigger screen than small screen.

I need something that is fast, and 10 years down the road it'll still be fast, as laptops is unlike desktop we can't upgrade / change the hardware inside. So would appreciate some recommendations on which model to get ? Budget shouldn't be too big of an issue because there's installments options.

Hello, I received Razer Ornata V3X as a gift, I've played around with the lighting patterns on the Razer Synapse app, so far I'm liking Static, but is there a way to have Static, with rainbow colors ? Basically different combination of colors together, or can only have one solid color ? Is there a way to have rainbow colors over the keyboard ?

Side question - The keyboard wrist pad that comes with it, it's independent ? Tried following the instructions to fix it but it doesn't click or have any magnets.

Hello, just want to ask majority for names opinion

I'm opening a pet hotel + grooming business with a partner, we shortlisted this 2 names at the end. Pls help advice / vote on the names to see which fits best from a business standpoint , which includes first impressions , easy to remember & pronounce, looks & sounds good etc.

Hello, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but if it's not Mod please move it, thanks.

So let me start off by saying I am given an opportunity to start a business of my own, basically it will be a Pet Hotel business, as most of the stuff is already there, and it's fully renovated.

Background
My dad have a friend whom he known for years, his a singaporean and owns a 3 storey corner shop lot here in Johor Bahru, in the beginning he let his son run the business but he failed, due to poor management and other stuff, after that there were a few who came to him for partnership, but none works out well, so it's currently vacant, and just so happens my dad knows him, so he ask my dad if his interested in running it as a pet hotel ?

My dad full-time job is actually a contractor, but since 30 years ago his been taking in stray dogs and cats from the streets, and owns a few shelter that cares for these abandoned animals, so with this, he have about 30+ years of experience in terms of animals related stuff, he also have many people asking him about pet hotels, so he thought why not take over this business, run it from scratch and see if we can make it work ? Basically this friend of his owns the properly, we will be paying him rental, so we have not discuss anything at all, it's all in pre-stage, we just visited the shop today and had a brief discussion, casual talk really.

So my question is this, I'm posting this here seeking for advice from all you people that have / had experience in running a business, or even better, a pet hotel business.

What should I be looking out for ?
What questions to ask ?
What is the risks involved ?

Basically I want to know the whole package, I know it's not easy running a business, especially as a first timer but I don't mind giving it a go, I also know it's takes a lot of time to do survey, research, planning and everything, I won't jump straight into it because that's a death trap, I want to take things slow and step by step, hence this post asking for advice. I also have a close friend who does business and his quite a successful businessman in his early 50s.

So yeah, please do advice me on the basic, for the rest and more in-depth stuff I will also consult my friend.

Hello, so I'm planning to get the new saga, mainly because it fits under my budget and I do not want to have a higher amount of commitments than this for now. I've been to test drive the car a few times, to my surprise even though it's a A / almost to B segment entry level sedan, the power is sufficient, handling is good, and NVH is decent, fuel consumption is good, no complaints there.

My dad was asking me this morning what car I'm planning to buy, I told him Saga, he said why not consider Perodua ? Because he believes that Proton is not as reliable, in terms of their QC, defects, quality and everything, which is true, I'm also in the Saga MC 3 group, so I can see all issues about it. This is also particularly why I'm waiting for 2nd / 3rd batch of Saga, as yes there's a lot of small - big issues when they launch the 1st batch saga, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they would improve and do well on the QC, quality and every other aspects.

So just putting it out here for discussion, with 50K budget, excluding second hand cars, is this the best value for money car we can get ? I personally love to have some fun drive, and surprisingly according to most car reviewers, if you are on a budget, and you enjoy driving, look no further than the saga.

Hello, i just renewed my VEP autopass insurance and roadtax for my car, as it expired on the 18th, until now no news from LTA, only the email that confirmed they received my update application, I must drive into singapore on the 25th no matter what, as my mum is flying off on that day. So, can I just go ahead to Singapore, and if any issue, I just show them the confirmation email ? I remember a friend did this before when he had no choice but to go in, and if i remember correctly, no issue.

Car plate number - 17

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the correct or appropriate place to post this, but nonetheless if it's wrong mod please remove / move to the correct section.

I'm looking for anyone who's letting out the car plate number 17, the prefix can be from any states but preferably Johor, I'm on a budget so this may be wishful thinking but no harm giving it a try.

A little backstory ( NOT trying to gain any form of sympathy or gain pity points ), my grandfather passed away 2 years ago, during his time alive, I have always been the closest to him, even more so after my grandmother passed away and after COVID happened, his been taking care of me ever since I was born, so yes our relationship is very very tight, I would say I'm more close to him than to my parents.

Anyway, on the day before he passed, he was not in a good state, but he did ask to see me and he called my name, and he told me out of nowhere saying that in the future, when you buy a car, get the number 17, it doesn't have to be a good car or luxury car, but if you can, get the number 17. I guess until today, I do not know the answer to why he insists on me getting the number 17 when I get a new car, fast forward to today, I finally am financially stable enough to get a new car, but I only plan to get it next year, so while I'm on a tight budget, if God permit, I would want to ask if anyone just so happen is / will be letting go of their number 17 car plate, if you are, please do drop me a PM, and we can discuss further.
