Mazda Service Center

Does anyone know how to complain to Mazda about their customer service apart from the Contact US in their website?

I went to 2 service centers, 1 in Federal Highway and 1 in Glenmarie. The one at Federal Highway took me 5 persons: sales advisor, service advisor, insurance advisor, admin receptionist and admin PIC to just replace my rear car plate that cost less than RM50 which I wrote down on the collection form to them when I collected my car.

Sent emails for about 5 times to the admin PIC to request for windscreen insurance reinstatement document and only got it after many many weeks of emails by me to them.

Switched to Glenmarie hoping for better customer service. Ended up spending 20 minutes on the process to just to record down my car problems and pass them the car in an empty customer service area. The service advisor really took his time to record my problems and was really unhelpful and unresponsive. I had to talk for 1 minute and pause for 1 minute to let him digest and talk for 1 minute and pause for 1 minute again to let him digest again and the best part is, he wasn't really paying attention. At the end, he wrote wrongly partially of what I communicated to him on the report to be sent to the technician. Felt like talking to a wall.

Fix car before selling

would like to ask for opinions. Theres an intention to trade in a second hand car for a new car. However the current old car has some dents here and there and have been quoted RM1,500 to fix. Should i fix the car first before sending for a quote of its second hand value? Would it make much difference in terms of the deduction in resale value vs cost of fixing?

Honda warranty replacement policy

Hi, wanna share my frustration with regard to Honda's warranty replacement policy.

The car i am driving is less than 3 years old and under warranty and I faced 2 major problems.

1) Warped disc brake - not replaced

From what I experienced, when we the consumers complain warped disc brake, Honda would only skim the brake discs. Replacement would only be provided upon reaching certain minimum diameter of the disc brake, i.e Honda wont replace the disc brakes until u skim, skim, skim, and skim and it reaches the minimum diameter. By the time it reaches the minimum safety diameter, my warranty would have expired!!!

When I asked for the diameter readings of my brake discs, they told me its P&C and they wont divulge to me. This really pissed me as the car belongs to me and when I reported faulty brake discs, they chose to skim rather than replace during warranty period and best part is they wont tell u how much they have skimmed.

2) Rubber rubbing noise ( suspected steering rack problem) - need to go 3rd time for replacement

I went first time and complained rubber rubbing noise on my steering. First time, diagnosis, Honda told me no problem. Second time, I brought there again, this time, they detected the problem and tell me they applied grease rather than replacing the faulty steering rack.

I asked them whether the steering rack is faulty and the NOOB answer they gave me, "it is HONDA's policy to apply grease and second time, only they will replace". I insisted an answer as to whether the steering rack is faulty, they still INSIST it is HONDA's policy to not replace the first time.

So isnt HONDA telling the consumers that regardless of faulty steering rack, U STILL NEED TO ADHERE TO HONDA POLICY TO APPLY GREASE AND IF IT DOESNT WORK, ONLY HONDA WILL REPLACE.

As a consumer, a problem is detected during warranty period, therefore it should be replaced rather than try to prolong the faulty part until it goes past warranty period, and consumer to bear the cost of replacement.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT WE, THE TINY CONSUMERS COULD DO, TO VOICE OUT AGAINST SUCH POLICIES?

I mean is my life dedicated purely to go HONDA service center 2-3 times every time there is a faulty part, just to get a warranty replacement which I am entitled to? Who will bear the mileage and time spent just to travel to and fro?

I seriously dont see myself buying another HONDA in the future.

Altis Steering vibration

Hi, about a year ago, I went to the Toyota SC complaining that the Altis 8th generation steering vibrates when braking under high speed condition. The initial check was that there was no problem. The problem persisted and I went to the same Toyota SC the second time. This time, the so called car expert told me that the problem was diagnosed as braking related problem and the relevant parts was changed ( am still looking for the receipt to find out the exact part that was changed).

About a year later i.e now, the same problem surfaced again. I was told its the same brake related part is causing the steering vibration when braking under high speed condition and I was quoted RM1,500 to replace the same part that was only changed a year ago (the car is only 4 years old now). To beat it all, I was told that it could be due to driving related habits that caused the wear and tear rather than a manufacturing defect.

My current worries now is that the problem would resurface again one year from now and the so called genuine product would fail again (the car is driven by my father who is not an aggressive braker nor corners at high speed).

Anyone can advise or had similar problems that can help to share for possible solutions?

Civic and Altis

Would like to ask for opinion on the latest generation of Honda Civic and the generation of Altis before this current latest edition.

Civic (1 year plus)
When the brake is pressed on uneven roads or potholes, I can feel the efffect/vibration on the brake pedal. Is this normal? I don seem to have this problem on the Altis. Knowing the Service Centers, they will just brush it off. In addition, the car brakes dont seem to be as good as the Altis's. Is it the inherent manufacturing built brake quality?

Altis (3 year plus)
Changed from stock tyres to new Goodyear tyres ( no idea whats the version's name) but I do know it is meant for rainy weathers. After that, the ride comfort deteriorated severely. Whenever the car hits uneven road of potholes, I cant feel the shock absorptions at all. Will the new tyres, I presume hard compound tyres, contribute to such deterioration in ride comfort or theres problem with my absorbers and springs ( of which Toyota replaced the front springs on the third year) ?

Hope to get some advice on this. Thanks

Hi, one of the tyres (stock) of my car started leaking air. Was told by the mechanic its due to the rubber hardening. Would like to
change my tyre but no idea what brand and which type to change (within a limited budget). Appreciate if someone could recommend
me tyres within the budget of RM250 to RM300 in PJ area for 205/55R16.
