Nokia to replace 14m phone chargers

HELSINKI: Nokia Oyj is replacing 14 million cellphone chargers which it says could give users an electric shock.

The world's biggest mobile phone maker said its Chinese supplier BYD would cover the costs of recalling the chargers, for which handset makers normally pay around US$1 (RM3.38).

Shares in Nokia were 2.3% firmer at €9.04 (RM45.73) by 1230 GMT and analysts said the impact on Nokia's brand would be limited.

"The plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger's internal components and potentially posing an electrical shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket," the Finnish firm said.

Three models of charger — AC-3E, AC-3U and AC-4U — made between April and October this year would be affected. Nokia urged users to seek a free replacement.

BYD Co Ltd's battery-making arm BYD Electronic said it expects no material impact on its financial and operating conditions or its business prospects.

BYD has become an increasingly important supplier to Nokia over the last few years, helped by its wide offering — from components to manufacturing services.

"We are not aware of any incidents or injuries relating to these three (models of) chargers," said Nokia spokesman Doug Dawson.

The defective chargers were not sold in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Britain, Chile, China and New Zealand. — Reuters

Today when driving home, listening to 988FM. They are playing the exclusive song which is by Faye Wong entitled 我爱你 (I Love You). OMG she is back? I do hope so.

Blood of Bahamut Countdown

Square Enix has quietly launched a countdown page for what is believed to be an all-new RPG title named Blood of Bahamut. Details are incredibly thin at present, though according to the website, all is planned to be revealed in the next five days. Screenshots currently doing the rounds on the net suggest a handheld release, though it has yet to be confirmed whether they're even from the same game or not.

Japanese pop princess Ayumi Hamasaki has revealed she has gone deaf in her left ear, but has vowed to continue her career and go ahead with an upcoming tour of Asia.
Hamasaki, who is Japan's top-selling singer with 29 number-one hits and more than 50 million records sold as of December 31, wrote on her personal blog that her left ear "doesn't work anymore" and that it was inoperable. The 29-year-old said she first suffered the ear problem in 2000 and postponed part of her tour. She believed she would eventually recover from the problem, but instead her doctor recently confirmed that she was completely deaf in one ear, she said. Hamasaki, better known as 'Ayu' by her large fanbase in Asia, is believed to be suffering tinnitus, which involves a ringing in the ear that can be caused by constant exposure to sound.

Accident Report after 24 hour

I'm asking this on behalf my friend as he is unable to online now and i don't have any idea for that. Basically this is what he told me. Yesterday morning his car was banged by another car. Then the car said he will bear it and passed the handphone to my friend. But now my fren unable to reach his handphone. As now already more 24 hour. As i know usually for car accident, need to report police within 24 hour rite. He only able to report police after today work which will be around 6-7PM. What penalty will he get as late report?

Silent Hill V (PS3)

Not sure is this posted or not. I tried to search it seem don't have such topic.

So let's talks about Silent Hill 5. I just watched the latest gameplay video in youtube for Silent Hill V. Now i only know that Silent Hill is handed to the western for the development. Mean no longer develop by Japanese. Then i saw the gameplay video.... OMG OMG OMG..... is no longer a Silent Hill type. In the video it still carries the Silent Hill elements such as the horror and monster type but the developer said will have more action for the character. Actually i also understand that in Silent Hill you won't have much control for the character especially in fighting. But that is the origin of Silent Hill. In the game is not ask you to attack them, kill them.... like Resident Evil, hardcore killer. Silent Hill is different. I just feel that Silent Hill V won't carry the origin of Silent Hill.

Maybe you can said that i can't adapt for the change but i think that is the speciality of Silent Hill. What is the best friend in Silent Hill? Pipe Still hard to judge. Hope it will better when in near release.

Car number plate

I just got a my number plate that i tender. As for normal number plate it only can last for 1 months right. My SA told me for tender number it can last for 3 months. Is this true? I try to call up the JPJ hotline and ask....but no one pick up the phone. I call the 03-8888 4244
