Hi

I'm looking to buy a pair of new shoes for my new job .. For me, comfort and classy style are the two most important factors .. but don't too pricey la , maybe around RM500 budget ..

I already own a pair of Florsheim Midtown Cap Toe Oxford ..

So my new job:

1. Requires me to drive a lot. Every time i drive, i take off my shoes so that my shoes does not bend when stepping on gas pedal. Then, I have to put back on with shoehorn when getting out of car.

2. Requires me to take off shoes at client's office. A lot of offices in my industry do so and it is really annoying! So again, shoehorn!

My boss allows me to wear jeans into work. So I'm thinking of getting another pair of shoes that fits my above description.

All suggestions are welcomed!

Start-up looking for tech co-founder / CTO

1. Background about myself
I have very good understanding of this sector: I have been in this industry for about 4 years and managed my own enterprise.

I can easily get the contacts I need: My family has been in this industry for nearly 30 years and I have met with a few bosses, explained to them my idea of selling online and they are keen on joining.

This is certainly my domain expertise and I have great understanding of the whole sector and every flow involved. I do not plan to bump around, beat around the bush and try my luck. I know which buttons to push at each time.

I used to play around with HTML and a bit of PHP too, so it won't be difficult for me to understand tech. I am good at SEO, Google Ads, business development, business finance and economics.

2. Basic info about the idea
Currently, there are 2 online direct competitors. Their founders / CEO are NOT people from the industry. They just happen to have VC funds to try their luck in this industry.

I have spoken to vendors that enlist their product on my competitor's website. They told me that the websites DO NOT have control over prices. Vendors only pay a fixed monthly fee to advertise on the website.

I have direct source of product and by setting price on my own portal, I can sell directly to end-users, bypassing all the middle-men and sales agent.

3. Info about product
The product I am selling has a huge market. Average of 600k transactions per year. If my web portal can capture even 0.5% of that, it is already a very, very good business.

4. Info about the portal
I have sketched all front- and back-end myself, so you don't have to brain-storm until half dead. My back-end will allow for operations and coverage for whole of Malaysia. I was advised by some friends to develop it in PHP (Bootstrap + Laravel) , but if you are a genius in other languages , I am all ears.

Questions that you might ask:
Q: So why not go to web studios?
A: I need a CTO, not a one-off web development project. A web studio is only interested in charging a fee for the project, while having a reliable and trustworthy CTO on the same ship will align our incentives. After this portal, there are more features that I want to add on top.

Q: Why not go to investors?
A: Investors want to see traction, which are results such as completed sales from a MVP / portal. I do not have those. Even if I do, they will just throw money and want me to find a CTO. I plan to build my operations and the portal until it is matured, then go to investors. This way, shares in the company is worth a lot more.

Q: What is your plan and exit strategy?
A: For now, I plan to have only 2 epic flows. Once these flows have matured, I will look for investors, so we will have funds to add modules. These modules will add value onto the company. Once it is done in Malaysia, this same system can be applied to any other countries. The business flow of this industry at overseas (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia) are the same.

Your requirements:
1. Eager to learn about the industry. As long as you believe in me, I will guide you along the way
2. Good at what you do. I believe this is down to every person's personality. If there's a will, there's a way.
3. Experienced at what you do.
4. Can accept no/low-pay during start of our venture. I need a tech co-founder to drive this boat with me. Taking home a high salary will deplete the resources my operations will need.

Hi,

I'm working on a project for my MBA and I need help with setting up a Spreadsheet that can help me with complicated datas. I've spoken to my authority and they allow me to look for help externally. I have two samples that I can show you, so i don't think it will be very hard to understand. I've spent some time modifying the sample, but it is costing me too much time due to my average knowledge in Excel.

Below are some of the tasks:
- Functions like drop-down list, retrieve datas from other Excel spreadsheets, advanced knowledge with functions IF / LOOKUP etc and others. I find it much more complicated than it sounds D:

Hi all,

I'm planning to buy a PS4 soon. I've seen on the forum that people are recommending to get the 'BUNDLE SET', which includes 1 year extra warranty, 1 year PSN and RM45 PSN account. May I please know what is this PSN and how is it useful to me? Is it recommendable to get the 'BUNDLE SET'? If so, why?

I understand that a standard new PS4 will come with 12 months warranty + another 3 months when I register online. Hence, is the 1 year extra warranty from the Bundle Set worth it? Does PS4 break itself so easily?

Finally, any recommendations for me on where to buy my PS4? Looking to buy an extra controller + FIFA15 + some other games.. I live in KL.
