Hi guys (and girls)

I'll be moving in to my new house in September and i'm looking for a contractor to hack a piece of wall... Any recommendations?

Also i am looking to buy the following furnitures... Any idea where to find quality stuff with reasonable prices?

1. Wardrobe - size: w200cm x d66cm x h236cm- budget around rm1,000-rm1,500
2. Bed with storage - queen size - budget around rm700-rm1,000
3. Working desk - i'd prefer a large one so that i can put a 24" monitor on it and a cpu... - budget around rm300-rm500
4. Sofa bed - size: allow 2 people to sleep on top - budget around rm500-rm1,000
5. Book shelf - size maybe half the size of the wardrobe - budget around rm300-rm500
6. Tv stand/table set - just nice to put a 40" led tv and some space to keep my ps games - budget aroung rm200-rm400
7. Dining table for 6 - preferably round - budget around rm300-rm500

I think it will be these first... Will add in the list if i can think of anything more...

First of all, I have no idea whether this is the correct place to ask this. If not, please forgive me and move it to the correct place. Thanks MOD.

Base on my little understanding on NCD, I am entitled to some discount once I started owning a car. I can't remember the exact amount but I know it's 55% after 5 years.

My situation now is, my father transferred a old family car to my name when I was 18 so that I can start accumulating my NCD (that's what he said). When I was 20, they sold the car and transferred another old car to my name. Previously it was my mom's car. I have been driving that car ever since I got my license.

Now the real story:

1 year into getting my license (I was upper 6 then), I got into an accident with a motorcycle. This drunk dude (I presume he was drunk because he has no idea he was still looking somewhere else when he knocked into me) rode his motorcycle in opposite direction right in front of me and knocked into me clearly. I was right of way and in my lane (all my tyres and even my side mirror are within the lane). Naturally someone called the police and pictures were taken and on the scene the police verbally told me it was of no fault of mine if he came from the opposite direction. Nevertheless, I lodged a police report at the police station.

Weeks later, I went and check if that dude has made a report as well to claim against me (WTF stupid law is this? he is at fault be he gets to claim against me regardless of who is at fault because he rode a motorcycle and i drove a car.). Well, when I was at the police station, I found out that, he did not make any police report. When I check with my insurer, no claim was made against me.

So, happily I thought that's the end of it, this is the 5th year that I own a car by the time I renew my road tax, I should be getting a full NCD. Well, unfortunately I was told that's not the case. The NCD restarted the moment I had that accident. Which means I have another 1 or 2 years to go.

Can anyone explain this to me? Is it true that I have to wait longer for the full NCD? My point being there wasn't any claim made. Hence the "NO CLAIM" part should stand right?

Dear members of LYN,

Can the experienced sifu-sifu share with me the procedures of buying a sub-sale leasehold unit? The story behind: I have just paid my booking fee and now what?

What I have heard is, I will now wait for the land office to issue the consent (to be taken by the vendor's lawyer) and then I will pay the balance of the down payment and get my loan done, my lawyer will vet the S&P. Then if everything is ok. I will then sign the S&P and the bank will release the loan, then... YAY!! I got my new house.

Is that the correct procedure? Or have i missed out something in between?

I totally welcome long detailed explanation. =D

Matrix Owners Please Come In

Dear all matrix owners,

I have a 2004 1600cc Inokom Matrix.

Few years back I realised this fat car doesn't like to climb hills.
Previously I was only driving in town so no problem. Then when I started studying in outstation, I had to travel and found out that the car will not pick up when climbing hills. If I push it harder, the temperature will rise. I think this is not normal for an automatic car.
Now it got worse, it took a great deal to go up the ramp and also going up multi-stories carpark.

Anyone have the same trouble?
