Slow connection after sharing

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx 1mb
Location: Subang Jaya
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes

Personal equipment
Modem: Aztech 600e / ZTE ADSL831 + Cnet 5 port switch
Router:
Firewall used:

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Ever since i started sharing connection btw 2 PC
Problem frequency: Always
Problem description: Slow speed for both PC

Okay, before I had the problem, I was using dialer to connect broadband on my laptop only. My BT speeds reached 50kbps++, surfing speed was good, able to play games and no disconnection at all.

However, ever since i started sharing the connection with my desktop by routing my modem (i tried both aztech 600e and zte adsl831) the speeds for each activity have gone down drastically. Azureus wont even download !! It goes up to 8kbps for few seconds then goes back down to 0 for hours, up and down up and down like that. Surfing is also slower but not entirely inaccessible, and i experience frequent disconnects from MSN.

If I disable modem routing and revert back to dialer broadband the problem doesnt come up and I am back to the previous condition (which is fantastic).

Any ideas here? No single PC here dominates the internet connection because I've set the rules in my house to allow only moderate usage at a time for each PC. Etc if one is gaming the other is surfing only.

[WTComplain] Mika

I feel sorry to do this, but Mika you are testing my patience. I sent a CNET 5 port switch to you on the 25th April 2006. The item was bought in December 2005 and carries with it a 1 year warranty.

Upon receiving the item, you did not even take the initiative to tell me you've received nor have u ever reply my PMs regarding the item's status. Until i thoroughly asked if you'd received did you reply - with two words only : Yes, replyed. And that was the last message i received.

If you are still carrying such a stupid grudge with you over the previous matter just because I asked for your phone number, as a seller you really are embarassing yourself.

It has been almost 2 weeks now.

A link to the previous matter : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=271749

Hi all, does anyone have the email and phone number of Mika?

I bought a Cnet 5 port switch from him in December 2005 and recently it has been refusing to detect any modems i have.

I have already tested the modems with another switch that i bought and they all work fine.

I PMed him for his shipping address so i can send it back to him for warranty as it is under 1 year warranty like his promised.

So far he has not replied any of my PMs and so i would like to ask for all your assistance. I am not complaining yet as i will give him some time however i would like to get the switch replaced ASAP.

So i kindly ask all of u for his contact details especially phone number.

USB modems can they be used to setup a network?

i would like to ask something about USB adsl modems, can they be used to set up a home network with internet access sharing?

I have a CNet switch/router only at home which i used previously together with my Aztech 305E modem to share internet for my 2 comps and 1 laptop at home. However the modem got fried by lighting (the ethernet light doesnt show up anymore). I'm now on the look for a new modem and wonder if the USB modems can function just as same as the setting above?

If i sound confusing this is a diagram (>>> = connects to) all through ethernet cables

Aztech 305E >>> CNet 5 port switch >>> Computers + Laptop
