Need help dual monitor setup

i have two monitors and two laptops.
Monitor1 will be permanently connected to personal laptop.
but i need Monitor2 to be connected to work and personal laptops, so i can switch screens between the two laptops. because let's say if im off work, i can have monitor2 switch to my personal laptop- essentially i can have two monitors for my personal lappy after work.

anyone can understand this? is this possible? im not sure what adapter to buy to achieve this
