this is a mandarin joke . can someone help me to translate pls

话说有甲乙两位经济学家一边在马路上散步，一边讨论经济问题。甲看见一堆狗屎，思索着对乙说，倘若你吃了这堆狗屎，我就给你100万元。乙犹豫了一会儿，经受不住诱惑，吃了那堆狗屎，当然，作为条件甲经济学家给了他100万元。

　　不过乙拿着这钱，心里还是堵得慌。过了一会儿，乙也看见了一堆狗屎，就对甲说：你要是吃了这堆狗屎，我也给你100万元。甲心疼刚才付出的巨款，于是吃了那堆狗屎，乙把甲给他的100万元还了回去。

　　故事还没有完。

　　走着走着，乙经济学家忽然缓过神来对甲说：“不对啊，我们谁也没有挣到钱，却吃了两堆狗屎⋯⋯”甲愣了愣，想了一会儿安慰乙道：“不过，我们创造了200万的GDP啊！”
