Hi All,

Would like to venture overseas and invest considering now local brokerage (CIMB, OSK, K&N, RHB etc) have overseas trading platform. I'm interested to invest in HK, Singapore or even Thailand. Do you know of any website that have those info i.e. PE, ROE and other financial statement that would help with the analysis of those company there ?

Will US recession hurt Malaysia economy

US recession won't hurt Malaysia much

BACHOK: The Finance Ministry does not expect Malaysia to be drastically affected if the United States, which is the world's largest economy, spirals into recession this year due to external and internal issues.

Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin said that while there may be some effects, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) figure was still poised to register a 6.5% forecast growth.

The economy's positive factors are driven by the global appreciation of commodity prices, healthy domestic consumption and high crude oil price momentum.

"Our fundamentals should remain steady despite worries about the US economy. We are not unduly worried even though the price of crude oil has touched US$100 a barrel as we also benefit to a degree," he said after attending the opening of a bridge in Kampung Kual here.

Malaysia remains a net exporter of oil through Petronas although there is concern that a continued price increase can put pressure on the high subsidy costs being forked out by the national oil corporation to maintain relatively cheap domestic fuel prices, he said.

Dr Awang Adek was responding to reports quoting US-based economic institutions that there were signs of a recession following the release of the country's unemployment rate percentage, which recorded higher than anticipated figures for the last quarter of 2007.

This also comes on the back of continued high fuel prices, rising cost of living and impact from the US property subprime market.

To this, Dr Awang Adek said Malaysia's strength in commodities such as palm oil and rubber would pay dividends as there was a surge in demand for them, while healthy domestic consumption indicated confidence among consumers about the economy.

I wonder how true is this from economy point of view.

My reasoning are
1. RM had appreciated much makes export of goods from Malaysia uncompetitive
2. Less purchase from US which account 20% of Malaysia trade. Who will absorb those excess capacity ?
3. Globalization had made the world more inter-related than ever. Do you think our market can self sustained ?

Looks like our trump card will be Oil, crude palm oil and some commidities. Will these commodities help to ride over the uncertainty in market wave ? According to some books, all commodities will have cycles. What's the best way in investing in such a uncertainty era ?

For me I'm still sitting on the sideline and waiting for my oppurtunity. Anyone have any better idea ?

Money Mastery Mentorship Program

Hi All,

I've attended a preview seminar on Monday in Palace of the Golden Horses on the Money Mastery Mentorship Program. The trainer was from their founder KC See. I found it motivating and sincere. Their previous graduate includes Fione Tan (E1net founder), Renesial Leong (Property Queen) and many more.

Before I would like to commit, can anyone had attended the program ? It consists of bootcamp, mentoring and coaching spread over 2 years. It advocates the use of master mind. A concept I've heard in the Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Would love to hear more from the graduates of the program and hopefully can get some opinion on the program. Thanks

Anyone knows about Dr Frankie Chong's NCS tactics

Hi All,

Need to get all expert opinion about Dr Frankie Chong's NCS technique (www.freewebs.com/ncswealth). Had anyone attended his seminar before ? He accurately predict the stockmarket based on Technical Analysis. Looks like snake oil salesman to me. Moreover based on the web site, he's not registering even a domain name. I suspect something fishy here. I search the web and didn't see any info on him. He claimed he got PhD from Bennington University. The closest thing I've found is Bennington College (More fishy here) He claimed that by learning the technique, you can earn lots of money. If he's that good, why teach to someone else rite ? If it's too good to be true, it probably not !

Can anyone comment on this ? Or is there anyone attended the seminar before ? Why I ask this ? My brother in law had attend his preview seminar and paid a deposit to attend the 1 day course. It costs RM4XXX+ I don't want him to get cheated and he won't listen unless I can show him proof. I don't want my brother in law getting conned by this. My 5 years experience in trading stock market, I don't see anyone can do that unless insider news etc.

Please Get me some evidence for me and hopefully I can show this to my brother in law
