Hi there i will be traveling to moscow for work of 3 days. But returning only 2 weeks later from anywhere i wish. So im wondering to those that have knowledge of russia or nearby countries. Can u help advise me?

RESIDENTS of SS18 have asked the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) to approve the gated and guarded (GNG) system in their neighbourhood to curb the rise in crime.

SUBANG JAYA: In the first nine months of the year, there were three snatch thefts, 13 break-ins and 15 robberies in SS18.
About 180 residents had a dialogue session with Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh and Subang Jaya police officers at the Jalan SS18/6 field recently to discuss safety measures in the neighbourhood.

SS18 Residents Association Pro-tem Committee president Dr Hamidah Marican said easy access to the area had led to the rise in crime.
"We are worried about our safety, especially that of our children. Recently, we spotted a few men armed with parang wandering around the neighbourhood," said Hamidah.

"We feel that the GNG system will reduce the rampant break-ins and snatch thefts here. We must act before any untoward incidents like death happen. Although the police constantly conduct patrols here, it is not enough to stop the break-ins."

A resident who declined to be named said her house was ransacked about two months ago.
"I came back from the office and I was shocked to see my house was in a mess. I lost money, laptop, camera and jewellery worth around RM10,000," she said.

Yeoh said the council would look into their request.
"Before proceeding with GNG concept, residents must understand that there are guidelines and standard procedures they have to comply with," she said.

"There are certain fees to pay, such as maintenance and security guard service fees.
"Actually, one of the best ways to ensure the safety of neighbourhood we live in is to instill the spirit of neighbourliness. It is always important to have neighbours who can look after one other.

"The formation of residents association, in which they can speak with one voice, also helps to foster better ties among residents."
Subang Jaya police station chief Inspector Sulaiman Baputty urged residents to alert the police imediately if there were suspicious activities in the neighbourhood.

"Our investigation revealed that 98 per cent of the crime here is carried out by outsiders, he said.
"Even if the residential area is equipped with the GNG system, that does not guarantee a safe living environment.

"Neighbours should make an effort to get to know each other because in an emergency, your neighbour is going to be your first responder."
