Macbook couldn't detact hp using USB?

As per title, I've tried to plug in my SE k750i using USB to a macbook and apparently it couldn't detect anything (no pop-ups) nothing, my handphone did show that it was connected to a macbook though. Tried the same thing on a PC and everything seems fine. Is there something that I should know? Appreciate if someone would help me out on this.
