Joining an orchestra in KL

Hello all,

I'm a grade 8 (Imeb) violinist who is interested in joining an orchestra in KL. I'm currently playing for Symphony Orchestra Negeri Sarawak as second violin (though recently I've been playing alot of first violin parts due to the lack of violinists). I'm about to further my studies at HELP University soon in September but I wish to continue being part of an orchestra.

Can anyone pls recommend an proper orchestra nearby? Is the mpyo or mpo viable for someone like me? Thanks in advance!

What to do after grade 8?

Hello guys, just finished my grade 8 today with IMEB. Passed with A Honours.

Anyways, just curious of what happens after this? I don't understand the various diplomas offered by trinity or abrsm. Could someone pls explain a pathway?

Btw, i highly doubt I'll be continuing with a teacher after this year. Going out of my hometown to study. Is learning solo actually possible for getting diploma?

But quite nervous about living alone at campus. Pls share with me your campus life experience. If possible, some tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

So my results kinda sucks .. Alot. I've read the pinned thread for prospective law students and posted some questions but not getting the answers I need.

1. Is application to nus still possible? My results will be out by August 2013.

2. Any reviews on Taylors law?? I've emailed them about the fee structure but no replies yet. Heard rumours that it was bloody expensive but my dad prefers a campus life for me and also a UK experience if possible.

Pls advice and do share your ideas. Thanks!

hey guys,

I'm trying to help a friend to check in and print his boarding pass for his trip next week. Problem is, I'm not very used to online checking in so kinda messed up. I forgot to check the box for return flight. . When it was printed, the boarding pass was for arrival flights only. Tried to remedy this problem by going back to airasia check in to print return flight boarding passes but cant .. since the return flight boxes was missing and I'm only allowed to reprint arrival flight passes.

Searched for answers in google but no avail. Pls help !!!

Slow internet download speed (Kuching, Sarawak)

Just today, I'm having extremely slow download speeds of 20kb to 30kb max. Usually it's around 500kb to 600kb .... Loading videos on youtube and etc are fine though ..Is this an issue with TM NET's server or is it a problem with my router ? Anyone else having these problems ? tq

gaming peripherals recommendation

hey guys, i hav a budget of around rm1k to spend on some good quality gaming peripherals. I planned to buy the Razer Imperator, Blackwidow t2 and alienware tactx headset. The mouse is ok but i hav questions concerning the keyboard and headset.

HOwever, i also want a backlit keyboard and the black widow is like rm1 extra for a single led. All in all it cost about rm100 extra to put in backlights. Secondly, I would prefer a really gud quality headset in terms of bass and clarity. Saw some reviews online that said the tactx headset is quite mediocre.

Can anyone recommend a backlit keyboard like blackwidow but maybe cheaper and also a gud quality headset ? Pls share your gaming peripherals experience as well .... tq

Planning to get a laptop for university. Mostly for work and mild gaming. But stuck between these two laptops here. The envy 15 3040nr is priced at rm5k while the alienware 14x is around rm4.5k. I'm not very good at reading the specs here. so question is, which laptop offers more bang for buck ??

hey all, my friend saw an offer on the net a few days back. So he asked me whether the price for the hp is ok. Rm1450 for a 6 month old black galaxy s2. It's non g and original sme set. That's all i know folks ... So my question is should he buy the hp for rm1450 ?

a levels law question ..

hey all, i'm currently studying criminal law for my a levels. A few days back, one of the students popped a question to our teacher. It goes something like this, a woman out of rage stabbed a man with the intent to murder him but failed to kill him. The man then tried to run away but was knocked down by a car. He died due to the car accident. Question is, who is liable for the death of the man ? My teacher said the woman was innocent of murder as the car was the intervening cause. Instead she'll be charged with attempted murder.

However, i've made some reading up on the issue and come to a conclusion that my teacher may be some what wrong. If the woman did not stab the man, the man would not run away and end up being hit by the car ( the "but for" test). Thus, the woman is liable and should be charged with murder.

Am i right about this ? And can anyone please quote a similar case on this issue to verify my point ?

Hello all, i'm stuck between these two phones. Need some advice which one is a better choice. The iphone 4s 16gb is used for 3 months and is a unlocked singapore set. Price is rm1950. On the other hand, the galaxy s2 is also used for 3 months sold for rm1500.

I know the specs but i dont know how to judge a phone's price based on the age. Both phones are in mint condition. Pls advise which one is the better option.

hi all, i'm planning to get a hdd as i'm running low on space. So recently i saw a great deal but it's not a regular consumer hdd. instead it's a enterprise grade hdd. i did some googling but found no satisfactory results. I'm not doing any heavy intensive work or server stuff ... just gaming, surfing and light editing.

is a enterprise grade hdd better than regular ones ? if i use it for gaming and etc, would there be any difference ? Is the difference for the better or worse ?

Just wanna know wat's ur opinion on having a touch screen lcd monitor. I thought since win 8 is coming soon and it's optimised mostly for tablets, a touch screen might be a gud choice. However, it begs the question, is it practical for other usages ?

I need some suggestions and ideas to complete my gaming rig. Currently I've got the casing, motherboard ( Gigabyte G41M - combo) and a decent dvd-writer already . Can anyone suggest a gud processor, ram, hard disk, psu and gpu ?
