Hi,

I want to get a new home insurance. There seems to be quite a long list of providers in the market. But etiqa is the only one with the immediate quote system to tell you how much premium you are paying. Are all providers generally the same? (covering cost of burst pipe etc)

from etiqa takaful...
RM 1.1 mil building worth
RM 100k contents
Premium comes to RM 1.4k~

expect the same premium per year for others?

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm trading in my car to get a new Nissan xtrail. I don't want to keep my car till the new car is out. The new xtrail will need to wait 2 months to be ready.

Question.
Must I sign the loan agreement when I hand over my current car?

Cannot sign the loan agreement when car is ready?

Thanks.

2 Router Bridge mode

Hi,

My home network setup is TP-Link 1043ND connected to UNIFI modem and another 1043ND in bridge mode connected via wireless. I use this to extend my wifi coverage at home. Used this for awhile now and set this up because i have a spare 1043ND.

I find that my current setup produces iffy connection and slow response even with 10Mbps line, when click on a site...it has a little lag time before it connects to a site. Would changing to a better routers boost this?

Should I get 2 new routers and make a bridge setup again or get a reputable router to replace the one next to the modem and get a TPLINK power wifi extender? Which option provides better coverage, stability and speed?

EDIT:
OR flash it with DDWRT for better options and power?

thanks

Planning my Home Theater

hi,

I know this topic has been discussed to death here...but each home theater is different. So i need all the ideas and
suggestions i can get.

I am planning for my Home Theater. I have a dedicated floor for it...its L-shaped with a WC and a balcony. With this odd
shape, I can only erect a partition wall to close off a rectangle section for the room. So I have to choose between which
section. Both has equally good qualities for a theater and the other section will be made into a mini bar/chillout area.
My main concern for the HT is sound insulation/proofing. From what I have read so far...too much will make it 'dead' but
too little would defeat purpose of a Home Cinema with neighbors complaining their ceiling light is falling.

I have a few ideas from reading all the articles and sifus here.

Option 1 - erecting gypsum partition wall with 3-4" rockwool inside. The walls will be at least 2" away from the existing
brick wall. something like room in a room.

Option 2 - Various size wood frame with 3-4" rockwool covering entire room. Like acoustic panels. (like psp_BOY's HT)

Both options will have the plaster/gypsum ceiling with rockwool resting above it. And wall-to-wall carpeting.
Below is floor plan for the HT. Although HT2 is longer but narrow wall means smaller screen. HT1 will be able to fit a 120" 16:9 screen.

HT1 - Size=13' X 17'. Partition walled with rockwool. Balcony will be closed up with brick wall and made into AV equipment room.
[attachmentid=3807020]

HT2 - Size=11.5' X 20'.
[attachmentid=3807022]

Balcony
[attachmentid=3807027]
[attachmentid=3807031]

Hey people,

Need some ideas. My car got rear ended earlier this week, his fault. The college kid agreed to pay for the damages (bumper popped out and paint scratched). Went to mechanic to asses damage, repair n paint job bout rm180.

Told him and he "consulted" his parents and they don't want to pay say that we exegarated the cost. Told his gracious dad tat I don mind to send to his mechanic. Halfway thru conversation n he shut my call. Great way of showing and teaching his son responsibility. And they are rich pricks.

Anyways, what can be done? Too late for police report. I know where he lives and his whole background thanks to the Internet. I don need great hindsight advices and comments.

Am planning to use a dedicated wireless router on my PC also.

PC-->Wireless Router ~~~ (BRIDGE) ~~~ Wireless Router<--Media Player

distance between PC and player is about 20 feet.

I have not gotten a clear detail on this yet. will check on it.

With my current db....my house already have about:

23 - wall plugs
6 - fans
6 - AC points
5 - heater points
28 - light points

The configuration above comes with the house as standard.

Will add about 36 wall plugs, 2 fans, 1 AC point, and 43 new light points.
Hi,

Are the twisted pair wires inside cat5e cables full copper? Since they're full copper, won't they be easily bent and break? I am looking to get at least 100M of cat5e and the store owner tells me that they are selling full copper wire. Anyway to check? snap it?

thanks
